Gentlemen,

as you know I am going away this weekend and it will be Rememberence Sunday here in the UK and the Commonwealth.

As a mark of respect, I will post an image of rememberence here rather than the weekly Run ration. The British people observe silence for two minutes on the 11th minute of the 11th hour on the 11th day of the 11th month.

Wherever you are on Sunday morning this weekend, please spare a thought for the fallen, the veterans and those still on active service who wear the crown on their uniform.  May God bless them all.

For Peter, Alf, Arthur, Reg, Mark, John and Ken.

Gone but never forgotten.

Well put sir,  Monday is our day to remember and pay thanks.

Roy

Thank you for the reminder gentlemen.  I will keep them all in my thoughts Sunday morning.  And here's to all who have or do serve, thank you.

Well spotted Roy, it sure is from Shaun of the Dead which is one of my all time favourite movies.  I've had Stewie Griffin from Family Guy as an avatar for ages and when I was doing an update to my sig last night I thought a change was in order.

Although it's not going to take Sherlock Holmes for XXXXXXXX to figure out who my package  is from, I've got to admit I'm kind of looking forward to receiving mine in the mail, although it will remain upopened until Christmas.

Cheers

I almost didn't recognize you with your new avatar!

Thanks for the info Darren, I think I will add the wingwalk edges, and maybe a couple of others and that's it.

Hi there guys, just wanted to let you know my Secret Santa package has been dispatched.  Allowing for air mail delivery speeds it should be in the hands of XXXXXXXXX in about 10 days.

Frank on a wartime aircraft that has seen a fair amount of operational service I usually find that stencilling is kept to a minimum after re-paints and patches.

Good to see you guys are still building strongly (especially Darren).

Cheers

Which markings are you doing it in?

I put a clearcoat over LA546 last night, and am hoping to do a little weathering on her today.  I also got my stencils in the mail from Squadron.  They are for a Mk.22/24, but I thought they might be close enough.  Some are similar, but quite a few a very different.  Right now, I am deciding whether or not to use them, or leave them off entirely.  Does anyone out there have an opinion either way?

Looking at the sheet I think I will do the 738 Sqn 1944.  When the time comes I will be asking you guys about cockpit colors and como colors.

Thanks for looking into that for me Darren!  I noticed the wing walkway markings are the same, and the underside ones are slightly different but probably not too noticable.  I do see the fuse markings as different, and will wait till I hear back from you.  Thanks again, you are saving my Censored [censored] from making another mistake!

Gents, I posted this question in another forum, and thought you might like to use ithere.  It is an easy way to find a specific page in a long post, as posted by Hermesminiatures:

"Actually, there is an easier way...

For example, we'll use the URL of the Kursk GB thread (since it's plenty long and I'm always trying to find one thing or another in it)

/forums/76/852166/ShowPost.aspx#852166

The bold text is the page number. Change that, and it'll take you to wherever you want much faster."

Thought you might like to use that!

Hiya Frank.

You will be fine with the walkway stencils and the underside wing markings and rudder markings. What you need to be carful with are the fuselage markings-If memory serves, there are three stencils on the port side of the FAA machines that the RAF Spits did not have. I will check that ouit in the morning for you.Wink [;)]

I've been back at work most of the week and have a day off tomorrrow before I make the long journey south for teh UK Nats. I hope to get a little bench time tomorrow.

USN GB? I think I'd be in for that if it happens. Got a couple of 1/48 Hasegawa kits that would fit the bill nicely - an F6F-3 with a Verlinden interior and an F-4B/N with a Black Box interior. Plus, how could I turn down another opportunity to hang out with this wacky bunch! Smile,Wink, & Grin [swg]

Cool!  We'll be looking for you when it comes to fruition!  I think it will be extraordinary, especially with this gang!
