Darren, I've spent quite a bit of time in Jolly Old England, back in my pre-retirement days, so don't give me that staid British, stiff upper lip, for God & Queen  crapola.  My Brit buds from Ford of Europe taught me different  Big Smile [:D].

Frank,  Looks like good progress on your Dauntless.  Should be a keeper.

Thanks Rick.  It's been a trying build thus far, but no where NEAR as bad as a Fonderie Miniature kit. Wink [;)]

Frank sorry I forgot to make mention of your Dauntless.  It looks great, you've really done a sweet job on the interior.

Boy, this is EXCITING!!!

I can't wait to see what Santa brought!

In the meantime, I set the Spitfire Mk.I aside for a bit until I decide whether to do some surgery to get the pilot in, or leave him out and open the side door and add the belts.  In the meantime, I have working a little on my Dauntless.  I managed to get the wings on, and filled and sanded all of the seams.  Here's how she's shaping up:

Work is getting VERY busy, so I fear my bench time will soon be at an end for a bit.  I'll still be stopping in and having a drink with the fellas.  But right now, I'm gonna take a lil' break for tea and crumpets. Dinner [dinner]

Hope you enjoyed your tea and crumpets Frank!Dinner [dinner] I think you earned 'em-the dauntless is  looking good!Thumbs Up [tup]

Darren and Roger-

Thanks fellas!  It is the AM kit, and is one that gets put into the to-do box then back on the bench, then back in the to-do box... you get the idea!  Very well detailed kit, though the fit in places gives me fits! (sorry 'bout the pun, couldn't resist mate!) Pirate [oX)]Make a Toast [#toast]

And I ended up having coffee with my crumpets, just wasn't in the mood for tea.  Dinner [dinner]

Big Smile [:D]Big Smile [:D]

I've ordered some P/E for my 1/32 Seafire that I picked up at the UK 'nats-its an old kit, but with some TLC it could look pretty cool.Cool [8D]

I am still struggling with my 1/48 Spitfire XIX, its an all resin fuselage and it does not fit so well to the wings......then I'll probably have to re-scrbe it as well.Disapprove [V]

It is certainly one of those "pick up-put down" kits that keeps going back to the shelf. When I get  all the filler sanded smooth, I can start the re-scribe............not a kit for the faint-hearted.

Darren,

Sound like your Mk.XIX is similar to my Dauntless!  On-off-on the bench, but they always come out looking nice when they finally do cooperate!

Which mark of Seafire is your 1/32 kit?

Its the Mk.Ib, looks OK OOB, but the office needs some work-hence the PE. I still have to decide which marking to use-both are really nice!

Roy- It is the AM SBD-3 kit.  Very nice detail, though must be VERY careful when fitting and glueing the lower wing to the fuse halves.  If it's not perfect, you will have to do a lot of filing and trimming to get the pieces behind the cowl to fit properly.  I didn't, and I paid the price!
