Carlos:

Definately post those old He111 pics. If you can recall back that far, a few do's and don't's from that kit would be appreciated, too.

FeldMarSchall: Give me a definite here...are you in? Another 111 would look great.

Aggieman: The 88 looks great...keep sending in pics of this one, as well as the 217. Very impressive detail in the 88 so far. It makes a positive difference.

Well, here are the first photos of my Ju88A-4 build, which I'd already posted in the aircraft forum before joining this GB.

I've made additional progress since taking these pictures - I have put the fuselage together and am currently working at getting rid of some unseemly seams.  This build includes Eduard PE seatbelts and scrap wiring for the electrical work coming out of the IP.  This is my first attempt at that level of detailing, and dry fitting the bombardier glass panel has revealed that I am probably in store for a little difficulty in getting that piece on properly.  But I'll work through that.

I'll also probably start the Do217E5 this weekend and if so, I'll post pictures.

Jeaton01: I applaude your unique choice and courage to tackle an all resin kit. Actually I am looking at a resin upgade for another build (which would be my first resin kit), so I am curious to follow your build. By the way, have you seen this link:

http://204.50.25.179/features01/ju388lbg_1.htm

It sounds like it is a great kit.

TryintoModel:

Which B-17 are you building? I have a 1/48th Revel "F" version that some-year I will get to.

The 388 will be neat to see...one that doesn't cross over this forum much. Which kit/scale do you have?

It's the Planet 1/48 resin kit.  My knees are shaking a little on this one, I don't think it will go together overnight.  There is a lot of detail in the kit.

Laugh [(-D] I thought I felt  someone looking over my shoulder!  Thanks mucker!!  As for a diorama, seeing as how we've got until October...I just might.

I'm loving your cockpit, by the way.  An awesome start to an awesome GB!  I'm gonna have to start taking notes for my He-111.  Thanks again!

Aloha,

Nice start, Mucker.  :)  I've gotta finish up a B-17 before I can start on my Ju-88 though.  :(  Might be a few weeks.

Dave (razordws): Yes, this is turning out rather nicely...Carlos has been "encouraged" to build the 177Big Smile [:D], and hopefully we'll find someone with an Fw200... Your 234's will be neat, especially if you can get all 4 built withing the GB timeframe (no pressure or anything...)

I was amazed at how SMALL the 234 was in person. I guess I had the impression that becuase it was a bomber it had to be huge. It wasn't entirely that much larger than the Fw190 it was next to and definately smaller than the Do335.

Scott: Excellent! I'm glad you're joining the GB. We have a pretty strict panel of judges, but I think they'd let you in with the Ju88C as well, since the airframe was designed as a bomber. It was such a versatile aircraft, indeed.

I'll mark you down for the Ju-87R-1.

"No soup for you!" Oh, wait...that was a different kind of Nazi altogether...

Sehen wir einen Fotos!

I've got some of the cockpit going...

I have the Pro-Modeler JU88C-6 in my stash which was considering doing for this build, however I know it was predominantly used as a Zerstorer.  It is a reboxing of the DML kit with new instructions and decals, and I must say it seems like a very nice kit.

From what I gather, the JU88C-6 was a heavy fighter (Zerstorer) version of the JU88 series, The Ju88C-6a being the day fighter, Ju88C-6b and Ju88C-6c being the nightfighter versions with different radar setups.

I also have the Pro-Modeler Ju87R-1 in my stash, which was a long range version of the Stuka (it had additional fuel tanks installed in the outer wing areas which increased it's range, but reduced it's bomb load.)

So, as it stands right now I'd like to do my 1/48 Pro-Modeler Ju87R-1 for this build.  Cool [8D]

Wunderbar. We're assembling quite the fleet. Is the ProModeler kit a rebox of the Dragon kit? I have the Dragon Ju.88C-6 in my stash and it looks tempting. From what I've read it builds into an outstanidng model, but takes time and careful dry-fitting/planning. I'll be very interested to see the Ju88's in this GB.

Not sure if it's a rebox of the Dragon kit, but it is a JU-88C-6, the night fighter version.  However, I don't particularly want to to the night fighter with the antennas and stuff.  I'll have to look and see what other options are available in the kit.

Steven, err, Stefan, you are now a proud member of the BomberGruppe. Your satisfaction is guaranteed or your GB membership is free.Whistling [:-^]

I commend you on the double entry. Bombers aren't the easiest planes in the world to put together. Also, I was hoping to get at least ten members, and you've set the mark. Thank you.

Now macht schnell! (I heard that in an old movie and it sounded neat)

Ok Mucker, I'm in.

Pro-Modeler Ju 88 A-4 in 1/48.  I may also add the Pro-Modeler Do 217E in 1/48 to this GB.

Auf Wiedersehen (for now ... my one year of German in HS was many years ago and I don't honestly know if I spelled that correctly)

Chris

Chris: You're in. I'm glad we have a Ju.87 in the fold...I've heard great things about the Hasegawa kit.

As for GB's once you endure the hazing, it's a blast.

All joking aside, I've been in several GB's now and have found them to be a great way to share information, learn teachniques on specific aircraft on interest, and make friends with fellow model builders. They're no-pressure and all fun. If you have a digital camera, make sure to post pics along the way.

Oh, and  an early wish for a Happy B-Day [bday]

Carlos...Good Grief! You der Mann!

Admit it...you were just looking for an excuse to get the new MPM kit! Now the real question is: are you getting all of the aftermarket goodies to go with it?

Where in the world are you going to be able to display both the 217 and the 177?

Great work on the badge, too.

Oh and as for my position....I guess since I am an architect Minister of Armaments just like good ol' Speer will be just fine.

That will leave Air Marshall open for you...

Dave:

Excellent...this makes you the leading "ace" of the GB...and duly promoted to Hauptman.

How are you on reference material for the Ar.234? I may have a picture or two from my visit to the NASM last summer. After my He-111, there's a particular P-47 I want to get to, but time allowing I have the ProModeller 1/48th Ar.234C in my stash. I have a feeling your builds will provide the encouragement to break out this kit early!

[EDITED]

I found the pcis and will post them here:

Chris:

The BomberGruppe spies in Hawaii had reported your recent acquisition of the Monogram kit, and we predicted it was only a matter of time before we could entice you to join. Welcome aboard. I look forward to another outstanding build of a German aircraft from you. Is there the possiblity of another diorama with the He-111?

The idea of this GB was sparked by Carlos (carsanab), who is the "co-chair" (of whatever lofty position this isParty [party]) of the GB. Within the next few years, he'll need the most shelf space for the bomber kits he's accumulating.

By the way, can someone help me establish a simple web page to post the finished builds? I love what Marc did on the P-39 GB. I think I have alloted web space on my yahoo account, but I haven't the slightest idea on how to host a web page.

Good job on putting this build together!

Hey Mucker, I won't even attempt to speak German though all my "roots" are mostly German.  To elaborate on my build I will be attempting to do four Ar 234's though one of them will be a night fighter Ar 234 B which doesn't really qualify as a bomber.  The other three will be a Ar 234 B Blitz, an Ar 234 C, and an Ar 234 C with the E 381 Julia.  All will be 1/72 kits from Dragon.  Two of the builds will be going to a good friend of mine just in case you are all wondering what I plan to do with so many of them. Wink [;)]

I hope someone does a 177, too. And maybe the Fw.200.
