Wow nice work on the belts and the o2 hose Mike Thumbs Up [tup].  I always extremely jealous of you guys who can scratch build such nice details.

Btw, what do you use to cut the lead foil, whenever I try it just turns out a mess?

Cheers

OK guys, I finally have a few progress pics to show. I really liked the fit of the kit seat to the tub, so using the instructions from Eduard's set and a Black Box resin seat as guides, some lead foil, sheet styrene, and some PE buckles that were kicking around, I think I was able to come up with a reasonable looking seat. The oxygen hose is a (very) small contact spring slipped over some stiff wire and painted with white glue.

Oh, I'm interested alright! Thanks Darren! Thumbs Up [tup] If it builds anything like their Block-50, should be an impressive kit!

Consider it done, my friend! Yikes, that's a neat lookin' kit! The detail set looks like a nice touch. Considering how much scratchbuilding I did to the kit seat on the block 50 kit, that'll be a nice not having to do it all over again on my block 25/32 (yes, I will buy one!). I certainly hope it's got a long way to go because I've got to get back to work on my Stealth fighter (which I haven't touched since Christmas) and I want to finish it for this build.

Also did you guys happen to notice this from the Nuremberg Toy Fair:

Thanks Mike, I'll PM you when I get it narrowed down.  Every one I pick out, turns out there is something really wrong with it and I get wobbly knees.  Soon, I may just say the heck with it and build my Tamiya F-16! Big Smile [:D]

soulcrusher, you're not alone. I just started my entry about a week ago. Glad to see you're still on board and I'm looking forward to seeing some progress pics. Sounds like you've got quite a project on your hands.

Frank, no worries buddy. This GB still has a long way to go! Thumbs Up [tup]

Very cool SC!  You are doing better than I, haven't even started yet!  As a matter of fact, I have been considering changing my entry again. Disapprove [V] (sorry Mike!)  Looking forward to seeing some WIP pics and hearing how you like the kit.  I would like to pick one up for my Aleutian collection.

Ok boys I finally am begining on my Model 14! I bet you guys forgot I was even in this one its been so long! I started tonight by removing the engines from there casting blocks which was no easy feat the way they molded them. Also started cleaning up some of the other resin parts. Most of them are very hard to remove from the stubs without damaging the parts themselves. I'm thinking of using bare metal foil for the finish on this baby.

Not a problem at all, Charles. It has an affiliation with Lockheed, which is the only real criteria of this GB, so I say "have at it, my friend!" Can't wait to see what you do with it! Thumbs Up [tup] Page one has been updated.

Mike:

I've picked back up on a kit I started in Feb 2005, the 1/32 Trumpeter P-38L. Having started it WAaaay back when, I'm not sure if it falls outside the GB guidelines. I've been away from it for so long it feels like a "new" kit to me. I'm seeing things now that I didn't 3 years ago, so I have a lot of repairwork beofre I actually start going forward again.

Is this eligible for the Lockheed GB? If not, so sweat and no problem...I understand. If yes, I'd like to add it to my builds for this GB.

Let me know what you think.

OK guys, I've finally hunkered down and got busy on my F-16. It's really a sweet kit! Debated on which seat to use, the kit one or a resin offering I have from Black Box, and decided on the kit seat. Using downloaded instructions from Eduard's site of their PE set for it as a guide, I'll be adding lots of scratchbuilt details to the seat and elsewhere. Not sure about the decals....may go with the kit ones or an aftermarket sheet if I can find one I like. Hope to have some pics up soon.

Thank you Mike, thats very kind of you. I am glad I'm gave a good account of myself here. I am currently reading the book Skunk Works by Ben Rich and it is amazing to learn about the sheer magnitude of hard work that went into getting the F-117A into service.

Also, having discovered more about Kelly Johnson, I am glad to be part of something that pays tribute to his skill, dedication, determination and patriotism. Approve [^]

Darren....what can I say that has not been said already? Just outstanding work! I was looking forward very much to seeing this completed and I wasn't disappointed, my friend. You have raised the bar for this GB way up there, and it was an honor to have you onboard. A thousand thanks to you for an awe-inspiring entry. Wear that GB badge with pride....you've earned it! Thumbs Up [tup]

That's a beauty! It's so real that as you took shots from various angles, in particular from the rear, I was thinking- "I've never seen a Nighthawk from that angle before!". Does that make sense?

That cockpit oughta be CLASSIFIED!!
