I use squadron white putty to fill the seams then spray primer over with it so it smooths.

This kit has alot of fit problems and you had to glue the landing gears in early toSign - Dots [#dots]

Its going to take me awhile to fill all the seams. I'm also useing aeromasters Wolf pack PT.1

sheet. Well thanks for looking. All comments welcome.

Huh. I wonder if blue-tac behaves like silly putty that way - when it sticks, just throw your kit in the refrigerator (seriously!) for about 10 minutes and then it pops right off. Smile [:)]

Guys,

be careful when using the blu-tac stuff.  I used it in the wheel wells and gunbays on my Jug and spent more time picking it out than I did building the rest of the kit.  And if you use resin, be doubly careful.  I ended up breaking some of the thinner resin pieces when removing the gunk.

Just a heads up.

Wow man, looking great! Did you blue tack/silly putty the cockpit? I have no idea why I never thought of that...INGENIOUS! Also, question about your wavy stripes - they almost look freehanded, but they can't be...did you do the blue tack/silly putty on those too for the soft edges?

Superb.

Sign - Ditto [#ditto] Sure is...great wiring.

Hey GZT, where in Mass do you live? I'm going to have to visit your Jug display some time if you keep cranking these things out...you planning on going to ValleyCon18 in March over in Chickopee? Have never been to a contest before - seems like it would be a pretty good time.

Mike,

Hmm, according to a Dayton example, you may have a wrong one but ... it is not visible (not much) anyway Smile [:)]

I think you have the right wireing done, my ignition wires are too thin Sad [:(] but, it is what it is Smile [:)]

I plan to do a tamiya bubbletop with Gabby's markings and thi s one I will try to be perfect. I do have 3 Thunderbolts (almost), fourth will be Gabby's last TBolt and I have to find one more - a NMF just to get a full line of colors Smile [:)] - total of 5 Thunderbolts

Wink [;)]

Looks good Greg. Maybe my Gabby plane was wrong as it has different ignition.

Looking good, Greg Thumbs Up [tup]

For a better bulb, get on over to the local supermarket.  They sell daylight simulator bulbs (about $4 each, or so).  The bulb should be in the 50,000k - 54,000k color range.

Maybe try contacting pratt & whitney themselves (www.pw.utc.com).  Maybe they have a historian or know of one.  Doesn't hurt to ask, I guess.

Fred: I like them and I plan to have at least 4 Jugs build.

Currently I have a little problem with the engine for my P-47D-11 flown by Gabby.

The ingine is: R-2800-63

My misttake : R-2800-21

I can not find any picture of this engine to make sure I pick the right ingnition system for this model. Tamiya has two sets unfortunetely they do not list any more details and all my references  do not show this particular detail.

HELP !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I found it. P-47D-11 used R-2800-21  and its on display in Dayton (wikipedia)
