Nice job Mike. I just hope I can get the camo pattern right. Sometimes I wish the Allied forces would have used splinter camo like the Germans. Oh well, such is life. Mike I just took a peek at your site, beautiful work!

Thanks for the welcome. When I finish the F/W200 I'm working on, I'll start on an 1/32 Hasegawa P-47D . I'm going to try to build Gabby's last "Bolt" if my paint skills are up to stuf.      As far as posting photos, I haven't figured out how to form a paragraph on this durn thing much less post a photo. ( I never touched a computer before 12/24/07. I figure by about 2012 I might have clue !) To all a good day.

Cool! Here is my P-47D of Gabby's last aircraft I built a while back

This is the Tamiya 1/48 P-47D Bubble top:

Either your camera has a good "Finish Filter" or the finish is just fine. Nicely done Mike.

Little Chief is ready for take off.

I finally finished my P-47D Razorback tonight.
I was not real pleased with the finish but it came out fairly well I guess.
It was painted with Tamiya acrylics through my Omni 4000 and Badger 360 airbrushes

Oh man, it's finally starting to clear up in the Reno area.  I swear, last Friday, Saturday and Sunday I did nothing but shovel snow all day and into the evening.  There was one point when I had cleared the driveway, sidewalk and front steps, then went to clear the back patio so the dogs could go out.  When I got back around to the front again another 2 inches had fallen in the areas I had already cleared!  It was one heck of a workout!  Whew!  Laugh [(-D]

The only real bummer was that I had planned on spending the entire weekend working on my Pz II and Me 410, but that was not to be.  Oh well, hopefully we'll be good to go for this upcoming weekend and I can make some progress on my builds!!   Sigh [sigh]

The ProModeler P-47N.  Had to steal the clear parts from a Hawk Metal Plate P-47.  Where the PM clear parts went I don't know.  Perhaps they were not in the box, but the ancient Hawk parts will have to do until I either get the parts or find them prior to stepping on them  I made the wing tip transparencies from an old drafting triangle, don't need them for Autocad drawings.

The NMF finish is SNJ with a few patches of Alclad II, over a base coat of Future.   Markings are for Sack Happy, flown by Robert Redfield of the 73rd FS, 318th FG at Ie Shima, July 1945.

Fred, thanks for the comment on the stripes.  There is one that is a bit out of line, but I'm not saying which one!

Mike, the black stripes stripes are just a bit wider than the narrowest Tamiya tape and the yellow seemed awfully close to the same width, so I just spaced them a little bit to get it to work out.  As I put down the tape, I used a dummy tape where the black was going to fall until I got the mask  over the yellow spaced right and parallel.  It did make the brain work a bit to get the vertical and horizontal lines to match up and make the bend like the drawing shows, the  change doesn't fall on the corner for some reason.  An artist must have layed it out on the real thing.

John, that looks outstanding!! Thumbs Up [tup] The stripes all look uniform in width and parallel to each other....not an easy feat by any means. Did you use the stock width of the tape or was it necessary to either cut it into thinner strips or border & fill?
