Im delinquent, will actually ship out SeSa3 package before I start building the one from SeSa2~

I finally have some progress pics to share. I feel good to have progress pics on this one before I ship the gift for number III. This is the AccMin SBD-5 that I got from Mists. Thanks a lot Jim for a great kit. This is my second AccMin kit and man are they great for detail and fit, a real joy to build. I just buttoned up the fuselage so major construction can begin.

I am really hoping to finish this one before Xmas day. How is everyone else making out with their builds.

Nice job on the SBD interior.  Are those photoetch seat belts ?    That's the only thing that didn't turn out to my satisfaction when I built that kit.  I used the decals that came with the kit and they look like ... well..  decals.  Looking great so far - and good to see this GB getting cranked up again !

Looking good Steve! It builds great and really looks the part when done.

*watch out for the dive brakes. They are too short and leave a nasty gap on each side when closed. I cracked mine open 1/4 way so it's not so noticeable.

Chris, those are photo etch belts. I just picked them up at the Nats this year. But dont tell anyone that they are for Japaneese Navy. Didnt have any US belts.

Drew, thanks for the heads up on the dive brakes, I will watch out for them. I plan on making them deployed so hopefully they will look ok.

Hey Guys, here is the latest update on the SBD. Have the engine completed and the fuselage is buttoned up. Since these shots I have put the wings on and started to fill and sand a gap where the center section meets the fuselage on the bottom.

Hope progress continues at this pace as I think the hardest parts are behind me now.

Awesome build, Steve! You are right, those AM kits are great.

I built the -3 and had problems with the seam in the same spot. That's the kits only snafu.

Steve - looking good! seat belts came with the kit? oh! I just read the answer few posts afterwards, you can tell Im catching up! nice job on the engine, wires look nice... I also have the -3 in my stash, will have to save some of this info for future reference

Thanks for all the kind comments guy's. The biggest shame about the build is that all the nice detail on the inside is mostly obscured when the fuselage is closed. ONly seam so far is the one where the bottom wing meets the fuselage. A ton of sanding and it's still not flush yet. It will be paper thin when I am finished with it.

Well it took me some time to look at and read all 57 pages and I got to say, " WOW " we got some cool looking build's here so for.

My new Model room should be done in less then 3 weeks and I will get started on my SSGB asap.

Is there any word on this years SSBG ?

I was at the LHS today and saw my SS2 kit. Chris its #3 on my list and I'll post the build.

Guys, it's a miracle. An update from Max's bench! This is the Tamiya 48th F4U-1D sent to me by Leaadas. I've decided to backdate it to a -1A. I've added the True Details cockpit for it. Let me just say this was a waste of time. Kit cockpit has better detail in it, and it's less hassel. I also decided to put the flaps in the upright position. This was a pain too but I like the results. Most pictures are flaps up! Anyway, here she is!

I Used Mike Grant instrument decals to cover up the holes in the True Details cockpit.

Actually, I only started it in September... I had some other stuff to get off the bench (namely my SS1 GB) before I started this one. Plus I didn't have as much time at the bench this summer as I would have liked... Glad you liked it Klaus. Seems my Santa doesn't get around these parts much more...

Very nice progress Max, the engine looks great.

I am still making headway on my SBD. I now have it masked off for the third and final dark blue colour, that will be painted in the morning and then hopefully its off to decaling and weather. Then its all the fiddly bits.

Hope al of us that are still building will get them done by the 25th. If all goes well I should make it.

Dragging it up again for another update. All the paint is done and drying as I write. I am only going to do a little weathering on this one so I should have another update soon. Chasing that deadline.
