Hey, thanks man! I really dug the look of your 251, decided to go that way once I chickened out on the hairspray. I'm still going to try that method, but on some soldering-iron zim, I think. Wink [;)]

Speaking of 251's, I hope you happen to have another kicking around in your stash...would love to get you into the 251 GB later this year! Big Smile [:D]

Ruddratt - that's a bummer about your kit...I'm looking forward to seeing it myself. Wink [;)] Who'd you order it from? And are you a fast builder? Laugh [(-D]

Dupes, looks mighty fine!

Saddler, I have an idea for attaching the snow to your 1/72 kit. How about a good heavy coat of Future then sprinkle the stuff while the coat is wet. Once dry, spray a flat coat. Maybe?

Still waiting on my kit to arrive, dupes. I really hope it's soon, because I've been stoked for this GB since day 1 and it's been rough just sitting here not being able to contribute as much as I'd like to. May be time for another phone call to find out just what the hold-up is.

Hmmm. That would be pretty cool. Have to get everyone to agree to only the ONE best pic of their build, though. Wink [;)]

Got cracking on the Stuka last night. No time to rest! Have a cool AM PE set that came with another Stuka I...Ebayed, or something. Don't remember. It's for the Airfix kit, but seems to be adaptable to my Hasegawa easily enough. Hopefully have some WIP shots in the next few days.

Was poking around the front page, trying to figure out what could be coming down the pipeline this month. This first batch are builds that I know I've seen updates on, and are listed as "probable"...keep it up guys! Make a Toast [#toast]:

Dupes - 1/48 Hasegawa Ju-87B2 Stuka
Bufflehead - 1/35 DML Pz.Kpfw. IV Ausf. G "Kharkov"
JThurston - 1/35 T-34/85
BobBaily - 1/35 T34/85
Plastic_Cross - 1/35 Academy M7 Priest
Espins1 - Tristar 1/35 Pz. Kpfw. 38(t) Ausf. E/F
MG42Gunner - 1/35 Trumpeter Strv 103C
Townsy11 - 1/35 Trumpeter Strv 103B
Detailfreak - 1/35 DML Panzer III J
some assembly required - 1/35 Tamiya Marder III
ruddratt - 1/48 Hasegawa P-400 Airacobra
Darson - 1/48 Hobby Boss T-34 Mod 43
DHM - 1/35 DML Nashorn
Feldmarschall Model - 1/35 DML King Tiger Ardennes

Batch 2 is builds that I don't remember seeing any updates for, were late starters, or never got off the ground. Any news, fellas? Hoping we can get a bunch of these added to the "completed" list! Big Smile [:D]

RandW - 1/35 DML King Tiger Porsche
Hermesminiatures - 1/35 AFV Club M-18 Hellcat
Dahut - 1/72 Sepecat Jaguar
1trickpony - 1/48 AMT HS-129
Fyuri - 1/48 Classic Airframes MiG-3
corvettemike - 1/72 Italeri M4 cast hull Sherman

If I forgot somebody, or put you in the wrong list, I apologize. Wish I had the internet capabilities to go back through the entire GB...maybe someday. Ashamed [*^_^*]

Great work Lycra man. Your Golfing Galavant certainly got your constructive juices flowing. Really love this one and if you had any probs with the PE, it sure doesnt show.

Top marx fella.

...Guy

P.s. at the end of this Great GB you should have a gallery of all the finished models, one after the other.

Can't wait to see the finished product. Went back through the list on the first page, I know that there's a bunch of kits that must be VERY close to complete...eager for the end-of-GB kit rush that I know is coming. Wink [;)]

Still needs some more weathering and then some mud.  However, I have the the Auto Racing GB that has an earlier 'end date' that has first priority.  Hope to work on the T-34 some this weekend.

I love it Dupes!!!   Perfect winter Panther, right off the frozen tundra. I know the PE zimm gave you a bunch of problems but it sure doesn't look like it. The subtle shading you've accomplished in that white is beautiful. Weathering is spot-on, everything just pulls the build together perfectly.

Another build for you to be proud of!

O.K., this one is finally in the bank! Got to go home fairly early, got the last few hours of work in before and after dinner. The finished product looks something like this:

Really set out initially to do a Dale-style hairspray peel, but the PE zim scared me away from that when I started having issues with paint adherence. Think it ended up more Panzer88-ish overall. ALL comments/critiques/complaints highly welcomed...either here or over in the armor forum (same pics over there). Big Smile [:D]

Interesting dearth of posts here lately...everyone must be building. Wink [;)]

Should have updated (and final!) pics of my Panther this weekend, I've been in some sort of modeling funk that I need to snap myself out of. Not sure what caused it, but I've had a hard time making myself sit down at the bench. Our current "extended" winter may be part of the cause (it's snowing here right now...AGAIN). Just need to attach all the tools and do final weathering on the beast.

THEN it's on to my Stuka! We've got only 5 weekends left to finish builds - 33 days as of today - so I need to get my butt in gear. So for all of us looking to claim badges, it's time to focus and motivate before the build ends!

Speaking of my Stuka, got a question for Lufty - did you have any reference pics you used for yours that you might be able to put up?

That's it for now team. Keep the good work coming! Bow [bow]

Man there's some fine builds coming out of here guy's! Sorry I haven't posted in a while, moved to a new place and ended up fighting with the folks over the internet connections. Then just when it looked as if it was fixed, they had to come back and fix 'em the right way Banged Head [banghead]Grumpy [|(].

Fantastic work everyone.

Hey Boyd - sorry to hear about your withdrawal, maybe we'll get you next time (apparently this is going to be an annual build...Big Smile [:D]).

SMJ - thanks for taking care of the house while I'm gone. Wink [;)] Still not back, travel day tomorrow, then Monday back to work and my pc. Sadly, it's pouring here right now so the 8th round of golf got cancelled...I did win the tournament, though! Party [party]

Keep 'em coming, boys. Talk to you on Monday!

SMJ,

Yeah I printed off your thread on the winter camo - I've read through it a bunch but once I get to the application stage I may have a question or two.  If I have not said it already - thanks for that toot, it's a sweet piece of work.

Hey dupes,

Sadly, I think I am going to have to withdraw from this GB (not that I had really contributed too much up to this point).  There is just no chance that I can get the SdKfz 222 done by May 1.  I have a couple other things I am trying to finish up, and I need to clear the decks for action if I am going to participate in your 251 GB and SMJ's Urban Combat.  So, I'll still pop in and see how the progress with everyone elses builds is, and I will probably still apply SMJ's winterizing technique to the 222 when I build it (which will be soon, but like I said, probably not be the 1st of May).  If, by some chance, I do manage to get it all thrown together by the deadline, I'll 'rejoin', but I am skeptical.

Darn, I really like that badge, too... Sigh [sigh]

dupes:  I was gone for a while too but I'll take the reins the best I can while you're gone...glad to hear you're going to some warmer weather...you deserve it after all that snow.

I like the annual WWGB idea too...I've got two builds in mind already for this winter!!!

Managed to sneak onto a pc here for a couple of minutes - just talked to my wife, it's snowing (again) in Maine, while I am currently treating day one of my sunburn in the 85 degrees and sunny we've got down here. Heh. If I didn't like getting cooped up all winter to build so much I could see me coming down this way a bit. Big Smile [:D]

Keep the builds coming, fellas - while I'm having a great time eating too much good food and playing marathon golf, can't wait to get back to the bench on Monday. That Panther and Stuka are calling to me...Laugh [(-D]
