well this is backdated to 1940's, and being that small wouldn't be noticeable. still a good point though. yeah that is who you think it is.

my original intentions were to just find a pin-up that i could blend with the name rather than sit off to the side. that just happened to be the first one i spotted that worked. i didn't even realize who it was until i opened it in Paint to add the name. which is when i finalized what the name would be.

Uh, navypitsnipe, unless you're in the 15-17 year old range, I'd rethink noseart of a young teen celebrity (Hayden Panettiere of "Heroes" fame I believe?) 'cause it might look a little...creepy.

Just my My 2 cents [2c]

Unless that's not who I think it is and I'll just shut the heck up. Big Smile [:D]

With nose art like that, you're sure to have the best looking stang.

RaptorDriver - put me in for a Revell P-51D as well i came up with some homemade noseart but still want to do Ridge Runner II. here's what i came up with for the noseart

and possibly this on the right side looking up towards the pilot

all the builds i've seen so far are coming out great. mine is still in the box due to my current deployment but i will have the engine fully wired and plumbed before i'm back in the states.

Fred - thanks for the suggestion.  I'll think about it.  I've never used anything like that.  Come to think of it, there are a lot of things this beginner hasn't used!  Whistling [:-^]

Some really great-looking Mustangs up there! --^

Invertman's is particularly good-looking in my opinion!
Inspired me to get back in gear and putty some seams on my Allison Stang

Looking really good, Jason Thumbs Up [tup]!

kbuzz, if you want to go for a metallic look, try any of the rattle can silvers, but while it's still a little tacky, try dabbing in some SnJ buffing powders from hawkeyeshobbies.com.

Then, after it's dried, use a little more and buff it up some.  Should give you more realistic metaliic effect than silver paint alone.

started applying decals this weekend.

had big problems with the kit decals, they would not release from the backing paper.

once they did release, when i went to position them on the model, they cracked into

several pices,so i ordered some new ones.

jason.

i'm not sure how to help them off the paper but to hold them together i use testors dull coat. i usually spray 2 coats to be sure then just cut and apply as usual.

Hi Andrew,

I haven't decided yet.  It will be some kind of silver - maybe a finish suggested by the kit or an old ANG look.  I don't have my airbrush going yet, so probably rattle can.  Cool [8D]

Thanks Andrew and JMart!

Andrew,

I try to do that, and I like to paint figures. Your Stang is progressing nicely!

JMart,

Actually I hadn't either until recently, but a friend provided me with pics for both the summer and the winter suit.

Cheers,

Azgaron

Azgaron - Looks good so far, I really like the "Swedish" touch. never seen that suit before, always learning in here! Thanks for posting and look forward to the rest.

invertman - Shame the decals; isnt there a solution you can use to "bond" old decals so they dont explode upon water contact? name escapes my mind at the momment... nice paint job!

raptordriver - Hey, its a start! Looks good from here, looking forward to the rest
