Pantherlehr
Frostygirl
J-hulk
CaptainCaveman and
Tigerman
Edog
Wildwilliam
nmayhew

Who else am I missing?

Any suggestions for submission guidelines? It's gonna have to be organized so I don't mix pics and descriptions. Should I start a "Guidelines" thread to make them easy to find?

Whew, thought you'd forgotten about me!! lol

This thread is getting so long and we haven't even started yet, I wonder if we should scrap it and start another when we hit the start date that will just have the build info in it.

Momentary memory lapse. I don't feel like hunting through 15 pages to find everyone who wants to join (sorry). I think a new thread for the builds would be great. If we each do our own thread everything else in armour would be on the second page Big Smile [:D] and we would probably get yelled at!

Sorry, I've not responded earlier. I'm in too.

I'm going to do the DML ' Kursk' Panther Ausf D as a change from all you Ausf G'ers. Will have to photograph on 35mm and have the developer put pics on CD so I can post. I have everything else I need except a replacement barrel, which I should have by next month.

Cheers

Well Chris, you can always start another kit. Who knows, maybe you'll finish it by Dec.1 Wink [;)] You can always work on that one while paint is drying on your Panther.

Hi Ya'll,

I just got back from my "business trip"......Videoing deer hunts for 2 1/2 weeks.....Dead [xx(] Good to be back!

Anyway I guess I need to go back and read the last 10 pages it seems I am missing something. Everyone is chiming in that they are "still in" for some reason.... so here I go...I am still in. There I feel better. What's this other website... It looks real nice, I haven't had time to really explore it though. Can someone fill me in real quick...?

Later

So far all I got are the extra rubber wheels, side skirts, some track links, infra red device from my Tamiya Panther G Steel Wheel Version. Still need to wait for December for the hobby budget.

So I still have to wait...two more weeks. TAMIYA or DRAGON?

Nice of you to go to all that work Derek. Hopefully I'll be able to post some pictures. Talking about an early X-mas present: a digi-camera.

Yeah Chris, just do it. I'm working hard to get my Panzer III finished, because I don't want it to sit idled. I've heard good things about that kit, what do you think? Maybe it's too early to ask you that. Wink [;)]

Flip a coin Dwight, you can't go wrong. If you buy Dragon you can save on aftermarket tracks.

Claymore (Derek)

Thanks for the page on the web site.

I'm just a simple boy really; I can do lots of things with spreadsheets, etc, but when it comes to a web page I know diddly squat. Can you give us some tips on what to do when the official start date arrives. Cheers mate.

Tigerman- It looks to be a pretty good kit.Interiour, indi track option are nice additions. Think I might give it a go and try out the indi tracks and see how I like them, If I do I might try to get a set for my Panther, never done any before.

Peter- I had not done a web page before the one I put together this week either, try out a place like anglefire and use the basic layout,it's pretty straight forward and gives a chance to learn alot about making it better.

Pete:

Yes Chris is right. Usually, the free website servers provide the basic items you need to create a webpage. Procedures on "how to" are always available from these sites once you sign up.

Some sites also allow you to make modifications on your page or create your own page. You may need to use web editing/publishing programs such as Microsoft Frontpage for this. I use Frontpage and it is basically easy to use. E-mail me if you want any help on it. I am no expert but I think I can give you a tip or two.

Thanks Chris. You'll probably find out they weren't as hard as you thought. Also, you may not to do vinyl again. I just got Tamiya's Panther tracks and if they are as good as their Tiger's, it'll be a snap.

They do look better. The only thing I see with the Stuarts are they are small. I can't imagine trying to do a 1/72 indi tracks if these are 1/35. What would be a good set for the Tamiya Panther G should I go looking for some? That and an am barrel would probally be the only things I would look at getting since I have yet been able to a barrel without a nasty seam. Would have to be something available at a LHS though.

Chris,
Tamiya makes indy links for the Panther G.
i got a set from greatmodels. they are reasonably priced, and the detail looks good to me.
(they were also on sale when i bought them. i see they are now $17) Evil [}:)]

but i must add the caveat: i have not seen any other brand!
from the stuff i have seen here the Modelkasten and Fruillmodels
(i probably spelled them both wrong!) are 'more accurate'.
apparently there is an issue w/ a hole being drilled out somewhere.
(in the 'horn' ?)
since i would not know if a Panther track was 'correct' if someone drove over me w/ a Panther,
i am not losing much sleep over it! Big Smile [:D]

These tracks glue together, so they will not look as good as the tracks that use the pins.
but those cost more than i paid for my kit!
i got the Tamiya tracks for around $12

if you want, i can email you you pics of the pieces & instructions
after i get out of work so you can see what you are getting into.
