ATTENTION ALL

Life is short and as there are a couple of builds underway, plus everybody seems dead keen and ready to rock 'n' roll.  So as the leader of this GB I'm declaring it operational as of the 21st June.

If you can't or don't wish to start from the 21st that's fine but for those that want too (me included Blush [:I]), then go for it from Saturday.

Also, I'm sorry I missed it but however created that fantastic badge with the 109 & the Spit, it looks simply stunning, great job.

Frank please feel free to keep posting updates to your partially built Spit in this thread, it's looking great.

Cheers

Darren,

Woo-hoo!  Party [party]  An early start is a great idea, just need to get my latest 190 done now!

The GB badge with the 109 and the Spit is my creation, if anyone would like to use it feel free.  I can also do a few other ones if anyone is interested.

Cheers,

Mike

Rick, Mike, Frank and Karl.  Excellent and inspiring build. Thumbs Up [tup]Thumbs Up [tup]  Thanks for posting.

Here's my 2005 BoB GB entry - Hasegawa's 1/72

and a more recently completed build from the Spitfire GB.  Airfix 1/72 with aeromaster decals for Jonie Johnston's mount during the BoB.

Darren, good call on moving up the date but I have another build on the bench to finish first so I will not be jumping in right away.  Also I would like to finish the Italian Br 20M that I started for the 2006 BoB GB first and if I still have time I'll do the Tamiya Bf 109 in the stash.  Here's where the Br 20 currently sits.

After getting word from that is was OK to start, I tore into my '109 last night!  The last time I built a '109, I had made some extra buckles out of fine wire.  On this one, I thought I would try a different medium for the straps themselves.  I took thin strips of aluminum foil, and fed them through the buckles.  I like the more natural drape of the belts, but I think next time I will double them up for a little more thickness.  I have tried lead foil, tape, and paper in the past, and enjoy trying something different each time.  I also smoothed out the L/G legs, added some wire, and tiny strips of Tamiya tape for clamps.  Here's my progress thus far:

Excellent start Frank!  I cleaned off my bench, sorted through my paints, chased down the wife and by then it was time to go to work. Blows whistle, rings bell. I really need to go to sleep but I think I will take just another quick peak and my plane.Sleepy [|)]
