Thanks

Think the next one is more likely to have Swastikas though!

Nice choice Frank! If I had been choosing from that sheet, I would have gone with either that one or the first one (Wick's mount). Both very interesting paint schemes.

Thanks Mike!  If you decide you want to build Wick's bird, just say the word and they're on their way to you. Wink [;)]

Thanks much for the offer buddy, it's very generous of you, but I'm building an E-3, not an E-4. However, should an E-4 come down the pipe soon, I'll definitely take you up on it! Wink [;)]

What do you mean I'm early?

Just kidding, finished this one last week.

Karl

This is one nice finished Spitfire !! I like the final touch - some kind of dusting ? What did you use to get this effect ??

To get that slight dusted effect, I just apply a very dilute mix of Tamiya Buff over all upper surfaces.

I find that this helps pull all the camo colours and markings together in a coherent whole.

Sounds poncy but it works!

Thanks ! This is a good tip. I experimented with some dilluted acrylics , gray , light brown etc. It always gave me some trouble, since it was covering in "dots" . This method seems to be repeatable and it is what I need. Thanks for a great tip !!!!!

Greg, you're welcome, it's not a KJ original as I picked it up from someone from the forum a few years back.

Darren, stick me on the board mate, I don't want to shot down as an unidentified friendly!

With that bullseye in your avatar I don't see how they could miss Wink [;)]  Darren has been on an extended holiday and I'm not sure when he gets back.  Frank is supposed to be taking notes on who has joined up in his abscence and he'll update the list when he returns.  Hopefully Frank hasn't been in the Rum locker too much over on the Navy build and he's kept good notes.  Eh, Frank... are ye there mate?

Hey there guys I'm back!!!

After a lovely break in tropical northern Australia I am refreshed and ready to go.  But first I need to say a huge thank you to Frank who has kept tally of who is building what so I'll be updating page 1 with everyone’s builds over the next couple of days.

Oh yeah, four weeks to go.

Cheers

Welcome back Darren.  Glad you enjoyed your well earned holiday.  I spent a few days in the rain forests of Northern Australia myself a few years ago & had a wonderful time.

Guys I have been playing around today with a few ideas for a GB badge and this is the one that I like the best.

What do you think?

Unfortunately all the other images that I tried looked indecipherable once they were shrunk down in size.

Looks good to me.  Would you consider two badges, one for the Brits & one for the Krauts ?

Great idea Rick, I'll have a bit of a hunt around to see if I can find a suitable image for the Luftwaffe.

Hi Darson,

It's TB379 over in Adelaide -- I don't see my previous post anywhere (maybe I dreampt it... I've been under enough stress lately!) but I'd like to register my interest in building something for this GB. At the moment the outlook is a Tamiya 1:48 Bf 109 E-3, probably Galland's markings, but I have a Fujimi Bf 110C on the way and could also dig out a classic He 111 too. Not positive what the final choice would be -- the E-3 would be the simplest!

Cheers,

TB379

Glad you had a good holiday Darren and welcome back. I was also thinking along the lines of two group badges for this GB. It would be cool to have both sides represented. Just my 2 cents wort.

Ok guys I've updated the roster with builds and put it up on page 1.  Could you all have a look to see if your details are correct and then post the appropriate insult feedback here if I've buggered anything up.

Karl you are on the roster but I couldn't find a post with what you're building, are you still deciding?  By the way that is an outstanding looking Spit on the previous page, I really must try the diffusion method as the results look excellent.  Can you tell me what ratio thinners to Buff you used for the misting coat(s)?

TB379 I've put you on with a Bf 109E-3 at the moment, if you change your mind at any stage just let me know.

Tom I don't have you on the roster at the moment, are you looking to join in with an He 111?

I went out for a rather large dinner and drinks last night so I didn't get a chance to play with badges so I'll have a look tonight.

Cheers

Smile [:)] Well that gives me a month to finish up my Halifax. I have the classic airframes Do-17 in German service and the Hobby craft Do-17z lying around I could do those if not taken or I can try to get my hands on the FM Do-24. That would be challenging. Any preferences? Just looking for something not taken or seen as often. I'll hollor if I can get hold of the Do-24Banged Head [banghead] Looks like we have an all round good representation of the Aircraft. Should be exciting as it is my first GB!

Aaron I added your build as the CA Do 17 if that's OK.  That's a cool idea for a build as we don't have one of those aircraft represented yet and the CA kit is supposed to be an excellent kit.  Oh and welcome to your first GB I hope you have fun.

Steve, sorry about that your Revell He 115 has been added.

Cheers
