Lewbud - that museum must be AWESOME! Wow, I wish there was something like that even remotely close to me.

When I get around to doing my Hind, I'll have to hit you up for some good pics...Mischief [:-,]

Wow!

I'm not really into the old Soviet block stuff except out of nostalgia, but I really wish there was a museum like that even in the same country as me.

I envy you Americans sometimes ... well a lot of the time really.  ;)

Chaos, panic, disorder ... my work here is done.

Dupes,

It is a pretty cool collection.  Don't know if I would call it a museum though, in that there is nothing to place the aircraft in a historical context.  Not meaning to sound jaded, it is refreshing to see something new.  If you happen to get to the Dallas/Fort Worth area there are 8 air museums in the area, four of them have flyable aircraft ranging from WW1 replicas to the Cold War.  Let me know when you're ready for the pics and I'll burn a CD for you.

Shoot man, any time you happen to have a massive batch of pics together let me know. I'd love to get a pile of good ref stuff, especially on that Hind...although a lot of the other stuff is of interest as well! Cool [8D]

EIGHT air museums...can't believe it. How cool. Thumbs Up [tup]

Doesn't it blow your minds that it will be the 1st of July for me before it is for anyone else?  Mwa ha ha ha.   Maybe I should take that day off work??  :)

Dupes,

Could you look at your instructions for the Frogfoot and tell me what the paint callout is for the cockpit?  My KP instructions are a little on the e side of vague with regards to the cockpit color.

Yeah, no problemo. I can get that to you by tomorrow sometime.

Of course, I'm not vouching for Revell's accuracy by any means...Smile,Wink, & Grin [swg]

Arki,

Since you said it with a wink and nudge, if it's 1 July somewhere (thanks Mr. Jackson for the idea) can we start.  Is it 1 July somewhere yet?Mischief [:-,]

Reread my statement again.  If it's July 1st in the time zone you are in, then you can start, but not a minute earlier.  I didn't say anything about "July 1st somewhere".  Nice try, though. Wink [;)]

Well, now it is July 1st "somewhere", so perhaps some of you might be able to kick this pig into gear!

I'm officially opening this up for business (time zones may vary).

Dupes,

Don't worry about the paint callout.  I found enough pics to verify the color is grey as the instructions call for.  What shade of grey depends on the picture.

Well, after it`s July 1st /actually for me it`s already 2nd/ i`m on with my twin Stormovik build. I`ve started with removing the main parts from the sprues. At first glance Dako plast`s plastic is too soft and may cause problems gluing the fuselage halves. The body to wing construction is also promising to be tricky as the wing builds of 6 parts. The initial inspection showed the need for replacement of the bombs and RS rockets - they`re not even close to the real thing, but i have something in mind for that. Smer`s offering is detached from the sprues too. The plastic is harder but sufferes from sink marks and some missalignment of the lines on the fuselage halves. The body to wing construction is more conventional and promises to be easier. No pics for now, i don`t think it`s interesting to look at the parts of the model, but if somebody insists i`ll make a few and post them. So the game is on, good luck to you all!

Dupes,

Don't worry about it amigo.  Go to:

http://www.airliners.net

Search for Su-25.  Got a whole bunch of pics of the Frogfoot.  The cockpit photos are interspersed through out, but there was also a group of pics posted by a guy named cockpit 21.   The grey is close to Dark Ghost Gray in the Model Master paints.

Thanks Arki,

Spent about an hour looking at that build, all I can say is Holy Cow Batman!  Have added it to my favorites and should probably save the photos before they disappear.  The link worked in my email notification, but doesn't here, what's up with that?Banged Head [banghead]

   Hiya

I got a little work done at the bench today. Sanded some of the fuselage and painted the seated figure.  Sorry for the bad blurry pictures.  I'm not to sure about the shape or color of the helmet.  I think it would look better with some yellow lightning bolts.  Anyone have any good helmet pics?

Hey everyone! Sorry that I've been MIA, just moved to a new apartment across town. Nothing like moving to make you wish you don't own anything... especially that big stash of kits in the basement! I've been totally exhausted for the last week straight. Dead [xx(]

So far my workbench isn't unpacked so it looks like I won't be starting right away, but when I get set up this will be the first thing I get to work on.

What's everyone doing for the long weekend? I'll be headed up to my hometown of Traverse City and catching the Blue Angels on Saturday. They do the show out over the bay, and the pilot who does the high speed sneak pass likes to get down about 30-40 feet above the water... sometimes it kicks up spray like an enormous jet ski! I can't wait!

Hope everyone has a safe and happy Independence Day, hopefully I'll be back in the modeling business next week. Party [party]

Tour De France (to which I am highly addicted) starts on Saturday, so I'll be spending a lot of time in front of the TV for the next three weeks...I anticipate a LOT of model assembly getting done in that time - SU-25 included. Wink [;)]
