Panzerguy... IMO I think your JS-2 would look beter if the wellow was green and the green was yellow.

Hope you can get it to how you like it!

I'm seeing lots of good quality work on this GB. I'm reading everything and trying to learn the processes you guys use. I've finished my Dragon 1/72 Panther. I tried to do a winter wash and make it dirty via washes of various hues and colours. I think it being 1/72 didn't do my eyes any favours. I learnt as I went along which was the main thing.

I've ordered a Eduard 1/35 Hetzer - I might be able to actually see all the parts!

Paul - sweet Panther! Is that one of the pre-zimmed models, or did you do your own? Great stuff for 1/72 scale. Thumbs Up [tup]Thumbs Up [tup]

Dupes - thankfully it comes pre-zimmed.  basically there's an extra sprue in the kit with all the zimmed parts. In fact there's loads of spares after this build - parts for a Jagdpanther as well. I think I will stick to 1/35 in the future though. Some of those PE parts were just too small for me.

Nice work Paul, Don't know how you guys can work in the small scales. Looks like it wasn't a problem for you. Looks very good.

Panzerguy, I know the green will look great, it was looking good before the camo. Be looking forward to the repaint and progress.

Pual nice job on the Panther Thumbs Up [tup] I've got a 1/72 JS152 that I'm gonna have a go at. I just need to find my microscope first lol.

Steve, thank's man. Yeah I was surprised at the size of the pic. I want to go to the AMPS Nats, it's in Maryland right? My work has a nasty habit of getting in the way but you never know.

Okay the green is back and I'm feeling good about itApprove [^]

I made up a stencil for the turret numbers and painted them in lite gray not white.

Tonite I'll be adding the turret band and then it's on to the weathering.

Hey panzerguy, That's pretty cool. Did you use the kit decals to make the template for the turret numbers? The green looks amazing. Cant tell it's been redone. Very nice work. Looking forward to more progress pics and posts.

anthony2779 - look forward to your build!

moose421 - As you said... "she" is a beautiful Tiger! Weathering is spot on, love the camo blend in, looks great!

   Mobious JMart thanks.

I placed the tape on a glass pane and drew the numbers with a pencil. After cutting them out I stuck the tape to the turret and just painted with a 1/4" wide stiff brush' Dont thin the paint to much or it will run under the tape.

Last night got the turret bands done.

These were done using detail tape and an airbrush. There was a little bleeding of the paint because of the texturing. I touced up those areas using the base color.

This afternoon I applied a coat of Future. Once that dries it's on to the washes.

Steve that looks really sweet.  Did you preshade or post shade the green?   Nice tonal variations.

Panzerguy, That's looking awesome. Really like the stencil thing you got going on.Thumbs Up [tup] I take it you are using an enamel base paint hence the need for future? To seal the paint from washes.

The white stripes on top of the turret must have been for air recognition. wouldn't want to be bombing freindlies.

Looking forward to seeing more updates.

  Thank's everyone.

Okay I think I'm gonna stick a fork in this one. This would have been finnished a few days ago if a section of the left track had'nt fallen apart. Luckily there were ten extra links in the kit.

Very nice look on your JS-2.  It almost makes my kitty quake in fear, almost.  Nah not really.  Top notch on the weathering and making it look used and abused.

Keep up the great work.

Hey panzerguy, Where are all the Ivans riding on the JS2? Seriously, It looks great, the texturing and the paint really are top notch. The Real Deal Decals look amazingly like they're painted on.  Hats off to a job well done and thanks for the WIP.

panzerguy: Good call on the green turret...this is a great looking build, the work up front on the fenders and spare tracks is especially well done!  Was the turret casting marks from the kit or did you do that?...VERY realistic looking! Those tracks REALLY look the part too...just the right amount of rust...did you say those were Fruil's or from the box?

She's a bit clean IMO though, have you considered adding some more dust?...at least some build up in the usual spots...food for thought...Burger [BG]

I just sent you a PM too.

Anthony  Dupes Moose  Mobious  SMJ thanks for the comps. Just found out that the weld seam that goes around the mantel should not be there so this beast will be going back in the shop. Shouldn't be to hard of a fix a little sanding and add a seam line and a touch up and it'll be back on the front line's.

Dupes not giving up just next time a different base color and I'll use an AB instead of silly putty. The unit that used that pattern also had Js 152's and T34/85.  I have one of each in the stash.

Mobiuos don't worry I've got two sets of Russian tank rider's and I'm sure a few of them will be hitching a ride.

SMJ the tracks are from the kit. Came close to scraping them but I wanted this to be oob. If you go back a couple of pages you can see in my wip how I added the texturing. I'll add dust after I get it on the base so it matches up. I'll PM you a pic of the tool set.

I'll go back and check out that texturing...it's superb!  Again, great build, I'll look forward to seeing the final, final version!

I am working on a Late Panther Ausf. G produced by MAN. With LS Steel Wheels and MAN stowage bins. As I just recently started the hull during the time frame I'm in.

The suspension is completely workable.

Hey guys, sorry for my absence the past couple weeks.  Been pretty overwhelmed with work and life responsibilities.  Things are settling down and I actually managed to squeeze some time in on my workbench yesterday (Tamiya 1/48 Bf109E-3).

I'll be back on the JS-2 shortly.  Whistling [:-^]
