Actually I think I have you beat. If I count planes, I've got 11 projects all over 50% done. Someone needs to put together a get-off-your-butt-and-finish-your-current-projects Group Build - either that or put the rest of your stash under lock and key until the current ones are finished

I would like to get in on this GB if that is OK?

While I don't have any Russian kit yet, I do have the Tamiya Panther Auf. G w/ Steel Wheels in my stash, so I could do that.

I have had the same idea for a groupbuild to help those of us who can't get over that final hump.  I have 6 partially completed build scattered throughout the building table myself.  Three are approaching the 2 year mark!

Hi Ernest. I built the Dragon JS-2 as my very first Dragon kit and couldn't have happier. I had no problem with the indies, my first experience with them. The only knock is with the upper hull being too close to the return rollers, but I never noticed until somone told me.

The Tamiya kit would no doubt be an improvement, but is it worth the extra cost?

I picked up the Dragon SU-100 at a garage sale for $10, so I might go with that kit if I get ambitious enough. I wish he had more Dragon kits, it was his only one.

Still in assembly:  Dragon King Tiger (for Panzer Aces GB), Italeri Jagdpanther L70 (unfinished from the Hunters GB), Dragon Panther Ausf D (unfinished from the Battle for Kursk GB)

Oops that 8!!  And I'm now working on an ancient Tamiya Pz III for the Vintage Armor GB...so I guess that really makes it 9!?!?!

Wow!  You do have me beat Hermes!!  The only problem with locking up the stash is you can always BUY new kits!!

LOL. Thank goodness, I was able to finish one of my own GB's on time for a change. My last one ended up in the box and maybe into the landfill.

This is why I'm not a fan of GB forum. Little to no activity and the thread disappears.

I'm reading my Fall of Berlin, by Antony Beever, that I mentioned earlier in the thread and I can't put it down. It's absolutely addictive reading. So comprehensive and entertaining. 

Tigerman-I agree, not much going on here.  However, I would imagine that as the start date gets closer, the posts would increase.  I know that I've been looking thru the stash (and researching) to find a kit that fits the theme and trying to clear up other GB committments that will allow me to start on this one before 2009.

Speaking of research, one of the kits I have is the DML Georg Bose StuG G Early.  Very little available (unless you read German) on Georg Bose.  Best I can determine is that his StuG unit, StuG Brigade 177 was merged into Pz. Jg Abt 69 which then becam 3. Kavallerie-Brigade.  He ended up a POW in an American camp at war's end and then was transferred to Russian hands.  I guess my big question is-would his StuG qualify for this build?  If no one knows, no problem-I have a few other kits on my 'to build list' that fit and I always have the urge to purchase something new....

Well, I busted out the DML JS-2m kit that I had in the stash just to take a look at it and its a really nice kit! I just may build this one instead of shelling out the $$ for the new Tamiya kit.  Of course with 5-6 weeks left I can still change my mind!!

I agree Tigerman,I had read Anthony Beevor's Stalingrad and I loved it,so at your recommendation I ordered his Berlin book from Amazon and it has been just as good.Have you read Crnelius Ryan,s account of the battle ? I thought it to was very good.

No, I am unaware he wrote a book of the account. I finished Berlin, now I'm looking into getting the Stalingrad book.

Bob, good question about the StuG. In the book there was very little armor around Berlin, but there was mention of some assault-guns. It's possible, since this GB encompasses pre-fighting and proximity units as well.

I haven't finished any of my in-progress builds. Since getting back from Pearl, I'm going to try to finish my Zero. Hahaha, a wingie no less!

Don't worry guys, things will get crackin' in few weeks!!  I want to start the JS-2 right away, but I need to start the Jagdpanther for the Big Cats GB first!   I'm running a little behind.....

Just working on the Dicker Max until this GB gets going.   Looking forward to starting the Sd.Kfz.234/3.  Lots and lots of resin and PE.  I might try to scratch build some of the ties rods for the working suspension.  The PE parts are 2D and the rods are… well… rods.  So I will try to make them from brass tubing.

May have to fill the gap with a 1/32 Frank. What...wait...Me? Build an airplane?  I think I remember how.

Well with the new life in this thread I couldent help but go "spure rumaging" in my kit and came to the conclushon that I'm going to try and improve the kits suspention by trying to scrach build a workable suspention system.

I was cruising on my Cromwell, when I lost a noticeable piece and shelved it. Second, I'm stuck on the color.

The Zero was started about 2 years ago and it got shelved, then worked on and then shelved again. I'm done with most of the construction, so I'm almost ready for the paint. I really want to finish this guy.

Soooooo many choices of stuff to build - guess I'll have to wait until the last second and see what jumps out of the stash at me!

I'm looking more forward to College Football, since we don't have a pro-team and I grew up an Oregon Ducks fan.
