This is the nightmare I'm working on right now. It's a resin conversion for the hasegawa fw190D-9. I'm altering it to repesent a accurate fw190D-11. The only thing I gotten done so far is the cockpit tub is about 70% done. the cockpit wall and insterment panel are still not started so I'm way under the 25% mark. SO put me down for a 1/32 hasegawa fw190D-11 conversion. IF things get real bad i'll go to my stand by a 1/48 dargon fw190D-12.

Jacob

I'd like to join this build as well.  I just picked up the Tamiya F-8 in 1/48.  Thanks!

Jacob, put me down for a 1/48 Tamiya Fw190D-9 with MDC engine bay.

Not sure when I'll get around to this, but I've already got the resin sitting in the cupboard.

here's a look inside my kit:

It's a pretty simple kit, as you can see here

Jacob,

It's a great little kit, the fit is just about flawless.  We've had some friendly debates on whether it sits a little too low in the past here.  The wheels are little undersize so some after market resin pieces help correct this if you're really interested in accuracy.  To my eye its pretty good OOB though.  Here's a picture of my 1/72 Tamiya Dora I did for the 190D GB we did here a few years ago:

It's a great kit, everything's fit together perfectly; it was definitely worth the money

The good news is I found the FW in my stash already and I have opened the box. You're right it looks simple enough just like most of the Tamiya 1/48s. I'll start tomorrow.

Well, I have the office built, but that's about it.  Real life has been way too hectic the last few weeks to get any bench time.  I'm hoping some time will open up by the end of next week.

I'm hoping to start mine by this weekend.  The Tamiya F-8 looks pretty nice in the box, I'm not expecting any problems with it.

Nope, not yet.  I'm in Japan right now and won't be home until next week.  Then I've got to finish up my Do 17 for the BoB GB.  It may be another three weeks or so until I get started.

I have started as scheduled. I just want to ask, how is the PE landing flaps by Eduard? Good fit? Need adjustments?

Made some good progress on my Dora. typical great fix expected from Tamiya except for the gap at the wing joint. I'm going to see if I can correct it with a spreader in the fuselage. here are a couple of pics the cockpit is all done OOB with the exception of the phot etch belts.

After seeing how long some of the other GB's are going, I extended the end date to April 1, 2009.

SC- Boy that gap is not typical Tamiya fit, is it?  Looking good though, decided on your markings yet?

Good idea, I think we'll pick up some momentum after the other GB's wind down.  I would like to do two for this GB.

Yes I have Mike. I have a set from Life Like Decals. I fixed most of the gap with a spreader in the fuselage. I believe it is because the wings are the same ones used on there Fw190 A kit because there are a bunch of extra parts on the trees for the A model like the cooling fan prop hub and other items. That might be why the wing fit is not as perfect as most Tamiya kits. Once the spreader was inserted all that was left was a small even gap but it was big enough to need some filler. Here ia a pic of the markings I am building.

I just got an idea: why not run a GB forever?  It would almost be like an entire forum devoted to a certain subject.  Just a thought, tell me what you think.

Good choice, one of the few Doras with any type additional markings applied.

Yeah Mike I always go for the flash stuff! I also like the three color camo job. It has the two main top camo colors with some mottleing of three different colors on the fuselage. The nice yellow 11 should add just a touch of color to her. I am really looking foward to airbrushing this bird. Unfortunatly it might come to a halt as soon as my Airfix Hurricane and decals set show up for the BoB group build. I just decided to get a good start on this kit while I was waiting for my BoB stuff though this one is next on the to do list!

Jacob, great job on your 190.Thumbs Up [tup]

I built Tamiya's 1/48 190A last year, and that needed a spreader bar.

I probab;y won't egt around to starting anything for this GB until September as I have a couple of builds ongoing on the BoB GB, as SC and Mike know.
