I won't be in that area of the state until the end of June, so I suppose I won't be able to convince the wife of any need to make that trip from just west of Houston this weekend.

Here we are on the 31st and I've got some gloss black undercoat repairs to make. I found a few seams plus the paint was a little rough in certain areas so I need to sand down and re-shoot.

Well, you have another month, so take all the time you need.  Looking forward to seeing your build.

The P-26 is actually starting to look like an aircraft now.  Still got some seams on the bottom to fill and sand and then she'll be ready for the paint shop.  Hope the 40+ year old decals are still good.  Steven, check the Squadron flyer or website, they're having another open house at the end of the month.  Will post pics soon.

Buddy- Those who say there are no stupid questions have never worked in customer service.

Slight setback...still waiting on paint to arrive. Here's where SPrue Brothers would have come in handy but they didn't have the Gunze stuff I needed. Oh well, another few days. I have tim to think about "repairing" the invasion stripe mishaps.

I have to find a way to paint over some of the striped areas. Any of you guys ever do this?

Charles,

I've never done that.  In fact I haven't built a kit in D-Day stripes.  Kinda makes me think I should rectify that ...

With a little luck, my paint will arrive Monday. Lucky models was the only one who carried it so I have to wait on a package from hong Kong. It's close to finish, though!

Parcel delays, long work hours and numerous mistakes requiring repairs have set me back. I'm going to chalk this one up as "incomplete" (Although it will be another day or two), and as a consequence, I owe a better showing at a future Aggieman run GB.

On the bright side, I could have rushed this one through and left the numerous gaffs and sloppy detail, but to my credit I took the patience to get it right. I'm actualy gaining patience!

Steven, my apologies for being tardy once again.

Well, I'm just back from vacation.  No worries on your build Charles, just post pictures when it's complete.

well, Ithough I was done until I saw the pictures...I have a few more peices to add, but here are the photos:

I have to say the Hasegawa kit is a nice one. The errors, poor dealing and orange peel in the Alclad are not Hasegawa's fault. The nice detail and great fit is classis Hasegawa.

Again, Steven, sorry to be tardy. I fought myself the entire way on this kit.

Sorry to dig up an dead thread guys. I wasn't able to finish the P-47 on time. My summer was very hectic and I had very little build time. I was actually close to finishing this one on time when I realized I have misplaced the gear cover for the R-2800. So, it doesn't look like this one will be finished anytime soon.
