Sorry, but that's the serious truth.
He's a very "serious" modeler.
Obviously, we just aren't "serious" enough.
Shipped out to "Military Modeler"............. seriously.
Arrrrgh. Sorry to hear that. Anybody else out there have a reference that shows which way the Flak was typically situated? I reallize these were often field mods, but it seems like the structure of the vehicle would necessitate some conformities that are not apprent by the kit's configuration.
Stone, he packed up and pulled out back in April so if you don't hear from him it's not because you're being ignored.

That is absolutely gorgeous! I have a question for you though - you have the Flak set with one of the legs between the front seats - what was your source for that? I've seen drawings that show it that way, and that show it rotated 180 degrees. I'm thinking about doing a similar conversion and curious if you have a source that shows a real life picture with the gun set either way!
Adam: Yes they turned out ok didn't they! I took 65 pictures for Robin for the Photo Feature and like we discussed I did not see any bleed from the blue. I think if it would of been a darker blue background it wouldn't of worked. Her is a few of my favortie pics
Bob: Thanks Bob from my understanding IPMS only has one softskin category including both Axis and Allies so I will have three entries in that one so it shoudl be interesting.
Andy: Thank you for the support Andy it is appreciated!
Marc: Thanks Marc! Billy Jack is one of my favortie movies along with the Planet of the Ape series. I loved that time in my life! I also loved CHIPS and never missed it!
Panzerguy: That is awesome thank you for doing that it is way cool and is now my desktop!
Edmund you've really outdone yourself on this one! Just stunning! I love the mouser clip on the dash very nice touch.
I hope you dont mind but I took one of your pics and converted it to BW and I'm amazed at how life like it is!
"Happiness is a belt fed weapon"
WOWZER that is nice. Super job.
Indy.. that pic of Billy Jack kinda scared me a little. I try to block all the really horrible experiences in my life.
Marc
I agree with Indy about the picture that he liked the best. Maybe you should convert it to black and white only... I bet it will look REAL! No question you are going to win more medals...
Andy
Ed I sense another medal at the show next week
STUNNING WORK!
Bob
Brilliant photos Ed-Mod ! I particularly liked this one
That blue card worked a treat!
"Well...you gunna pull them pistols, or just whistle Dixie?"
wbill76 None taken Dave, my comment was in reference to the "speed" with which Ed used to complete his builds. To borrow a line from LOTR, Ed's build is neither early nor late, it has arrived precisely as he intended it to.

Bill,
That I too funny! That is the exact reference that went through my mind when I wrote that. Good thing I didn't read that this am over java. I would have snorked it all over the computer.
Cheers
Dave
With enough thrust, pigs fly just fine.
Wbill: Yes it's crazy how throwing the directions away and forging your own path will extend yout build! Also the research as you know is key and time consuming!
Adam: Yes it doesn;t suprize me that we both liked that movie. Whenever my inner middle-aged ninja wants to come out to play especially in traffic I call myself Spritiual Billy Jack and to knock it off!
Dave: Thanks Dave and my next build will be the Tamiya re-release of the Kubelwagen Type 82!
I took some outdoor pics today because we had sun in Seattle!! I used a light blue poster board for the backdrop and I thought I would share a few more pics with you guys in natural light!

Edmund,
This one took just the right amount of time. No offense Bill . I am glad to see that it was not rushed across the finish line. Your work is superb my friend! I have, once again, enjoyed this ride. So..... what's next?
Me too! One of my all-time-favorites. One of the most inspiring things I've ever ever seen still. I was snoozing I guess from 12-1 last night & woke up and you'd posted that baby--I heard Billy Jack took alot of naps too---he'd flip his hat down, and people would be like "what are you doing? " & he'd be all " I'ma take a 'lil nap....then Im'a take off my boots and kick all thier as*es.......wait for it!! "
Bills' right though---the Highlights of this build have to be the intense conversion work--the scatchbuilt trailer & I'd say all the excellent basework experimentation !! Still...fun to see those new little things
Ride forth & model!
Hey Adam,
Thanks for the late night support! i really find the little odd ball details really striking on a completed vehicle like a smashed toolbox or an added civiian colored piece of equipment, a splash of color from a field expediate mod. It's all cool. The potato masher was really easy. I primed with some Chaos Black followed by dry brushing of Gunbolt silver. I then painted the handle with Vallejo Light Sand followed by Burnt Umber oils that were allowed to set up and then streaked down the handel with mineral sprits. I learned the method here and is how I do all my Pioneer tools until i find a better method.
If we get some sun I wll get a few outdoor shots today. Love Kung Fu it was favoriteseries when I was a kid. Loner meets soemone beats the crimeny out of their enemies or persecutors and then moves on! That is the whole series in one sentence but it appealed to my young warrior heart! I also likeed the movie Billy Jack!
Took you long enough to get this one done Ed! Nice work all around on this one especially with all the conversion work you did and the scratch-built trailer. Definitely one to be proud of!
You have learned your craft well, Caine.
Beautiful Brother Edmund ! Be proud (er) Love the stick grenade and ammo in the "Oh S*** Bar"!
Thanks Adam, Bob and Steve for your support on this one.
I am going to cal lthis one complete and I started the Blog on January 21st so it was along road with lots of hurdles and lessons learned. I purchased the Tamiya kit on Ebay for $10.00 and then the madness began!
A sincere thank you to everyone that stopped by for a look and to my constant tireless supporters on this Forum! Thanks Guys!
Here are some walk around shots:
Das ist richtig lieben, sind Sie herzlich willkommen.
Thats-Recht sind sie sehr gut!
sprechen Sie mit Ihnen später auf Wiedersehen
Danke Brian. Sie sind zu gütig!
Danke Adam Auch Sie sind auch sehr nett. Ich liebe dieses Hobby!
Thank You Dave! Abteilung Ölfarben Rock!
Thank you so very much for the info my friend. I will have to give that a go when I finish up my wingy thingy. I think I'm going to need to give the Abteilung oils a go. I've been noting the effects that you, Bob, and others are getting with those and I'm loving them.
Schnobs I spent as much time as possible reading WIP's and build articles in magazines and then chose projects that would enable me to learn and proactice the prequisite skillset. Stir in lots if subbornness and patience wiht a dash of artitistic inspriation and walla two months have passed and you are staring at something that was only in your mind a short time ago. Yes realistic chipping is an artform and there are many techniques and combinations of methods out there.

That's a great formula Schnobs ! If only everyone could do it that way and draw on an untapped resevior of talent, they might do some great work too!
Anybody can slap kits together and brush them down with products...
I think it's fair to say you have talent Ed--but a big part of that is the desire to teach yourself as well
--to seek out--study--practice--experiment---and challenge youself------

~It's called Artistic Talent~
Blimey,
How on earth do you guys do stuff like this!?
Simply stunning, just superb!
I just love the chipping Schnobs - it's the one thing that I find the hardest to do (realistically)!
Stunning, what else can I say?
Ben
