Rob , i'm (putting) any idea of a dio with this M4 dozer on the back burner for now . I'm ready to move unto another project when this one is finished .
"Riff Raff".......A Marine M4 dozer
Looking very nice. The crew look like the took the Marine haircut too seriously LOL
Keep it coming

"The Moral High Ground....A Great Place to Emplace Artillery."
Looking great ,Shell.......Did you just invent 'Riff Raff ' or was it from a picture ?...it sure sounds like a name from the 40's well done !......nice job on the figures so far...should be interesting
I guess ' just a little off the top ' would be going to far as jokes go, but I had to say it. lol...

Thanks guys for looking in and for following my w.i.p. .......much appreciate your comments .
Redleg , lol about the haircut .
Tread , i got the name from the memory of a guy that i knew that called the material brought up from dozing "riff raff " . Plus the meaning of the name seems to fit the general feeling towards the USMC in WW II ...............remember Eleanor Roosevelts comment about the Marines ?
The Marines I have seen around the world have the cleanest bodies, the filthiest minds, the highest morale, and the lowest morals of any group of animals I have ever seen. Thank God for the United States Marine Corps! Eleanor Roosevelt, First Lady of the United States, 1945
Rob , good to know you like how the tracks turned out .
Bill , glad you also like the name .
Thanks my friends ..............

It reminds me of a good friend I know... if I was not born deaf, you will probably find me in the Marines. Bet my mom is very happy I am deaf because she will never let me join the armed forces. LOL
I am really enjoying this thread!
Andy
Hey Carl, was looking through my figures spare parts box looking for some heads for some figs I'm working on and found these.
I thought you could possibly use them? You could have them as a back up or another option. There wearing tanker helmets and they should be pretty easy to convert to Marines. Just sand off the right *** pocket and cut out the undershirt collar and you could pass them off as USMC. Let me know and I can drop them in the mail and you could have them in just a few days.
Hey ! You cant say *** on here Let me rephrase "cut off the right chest pocket" and you should be good to go
Andy , yup Eleanor didnt care much for Marines . What an old hag ..........lol. Whats this ? You like this thread ................................well i'm glad your hanging around .
Rob , Rob ......................nice guy you are to offer those figures . I came acroos a few heads with the tanker helmets on in my stash also . I was thinking maybe having the only driver wearing the tanker helmet ................ I'll let you know . Thanks Rob .
you cant say *** here ?
Nope you cant , didnt know that .....................
Yes you can!
Just spell it sdrawkcab.
Get It?
Spacing the letters works also ............ u d d e r s ..............

Small update . A few more pics .
Shellback: DANG IT thats crisp! A bit clean for my taste, but I SWEAR I could grab those tools and start working...some of the finest I've ever seen, Fantastic work! The wood box, cable and rope are top notch too!
I just came on board this thread but I'll be watching closely...
SMJ , glad to have you here .
I feel the same way about the "clean" tools .............they need to look used .
Thanks for your input .
Shellback .............they need to look used .
.............they need to look used .
Give 'em to me...... I'll fix 'em.
Steve , i bet you could fix 'em ! I just cant seem to get them dirty enough ..............
I did go back over the tools and the deck area around them with some oils and chalks in an attempt to make them look a little more used . This is as far as i can stand to go into the dark dirty side of armor weathering .
There's a slight diff from the previouse look ..............
And also ................i've been busy doing the normal outside spring type jobs and havent been working on the blade much lately .............no blade dropping yet Steve ............
Drop the blade.....Drop the blade......
Drop the blade.....
Drop it!
Its about ready to drop ......................
BLADE !!!!
Painted with Model Master metalizer magnesium and sealed with Future .
Clang!
YEAH BABY !......here we go !
Tools look good Shell .... both ways ya had 'em
Those metalizer paints can be polished to a pretty high luster.. I love them..they have a wax substance built in and ya can just lightly rub them with a piece of felt or micro fiber rag or anything soft....
and don't let Steve push ya.... we haven't seen any pics of his VK45.02 yet........ just sayin'
Tread .........Steve aint pushing me around , i preffer to call it "motivating me " ...........CLANG !
Tools ok ? Thanks Tread .
I buffed the metalizer with a ball of cotton and didnt like my results . Maybe because the paint is really old and has been half use for a long time . Might of used the wrong thinner also . So its wax in there that gives it the shine ?.................was wondering how that worked . I'll play around with the finish more . Maybe the base of the blade should have more of a shine .........
