The turn signal  color looks spot on. The head lights = a great, simple, solution  eliminating the usual plane jane look on head lights.  Great Stuff!

I would like to complement your work some more, but I promised,   "...that  all kidding aside...", so anymore would just cause you to doubt my sincerity;  I bet

The headlights look terrific.  So, can you see the light at the end of the tunnel?  Where you feeling lighthearted when you assembled them?  

I really want to accent my headlamps, working on them now too, the way you did. Really brings out the depth.

Wow. Nice truck, comrade.

Glued the headlight lenses in with white glue . Before i did that i painted the inside of the housing with MM enamel chrome silver . Also i painted the outer ring on the inside of the clear lenses with black enamel ...to give the lenses the look of some depth On the turn signals i first painted then with two coats of MM enamel chrome yellow . When that cured i applied two coats of turn signal amber from MM enamel. After curring i outlined the lense base with water color paints black and then i inhanced the look of the amber lense with water color paints red .

Wow Carl, it's really coming to life now with the fenders on. Neat trick with the mirror as well!

Fenders on . Like the rest of the model i painted them with M.M. enamel Russian green , high lighted that with a Russian green lightened with a drop of flat white , dry brushed the fenders with light gray , sealed all of that with Future , applied a wash of burnt umber , sealed everything with a coat of acrylic matt and finally brushed on some Mig pigs .

Heres one of the side view mirrors .I usually have trouble with these . This one and its mate were easier . I dipped the mirror end of the part into Future and let it set a couple of days . Then i applied a drop of enamel chrome silver from the tip of a small brush and sat that aside for a couple of days to cure .

Gamera , Thanks for your kind words . Just to be sure , what i used was brushed on Mig pigments and pastel chalks .

XPC ..............thank you also for your complement . I havent heard of the freezer idea before . Not enough room in my freezer..... what with all of the frozen pizza's and ice cream in there already .

I am mightily impressed with this superb build.  I am a modeller returning after many years away from the hobby, and I am a little reluctant among such talented people to offer a tip that I often use on kits with soft plastic. I often put the whole assembly in the domestic freezer for a while to really set the glued joint.  I hope this helps.

Looks great! Just applied a coat of mud to a Jeep I've been slowly building with my airbrush and well yours looks much, much better. Guess I'll have to try pastels next time. The airbrush as you'd figure put down too even and perfect a coat, I like how you've got it sorta uneven and blotchy as driving though puddles would wash some of the mud off.

As interesting as "Naked Models" may be.... sure does look good when the paint and grime pull it all together.  And that is pretty well "pulled".

that looks so AWESOME SHELLBACK and that workbench is sssooo neat i would NEVER find anything there i need it near or i can't find it.:)

Andy,    I just been looking over the AK web site. Looks impressive and as I have yet to venture into the world of pig(ment)s and washs.  Is there a recomened "starter group" for rust, grime,and mud you could suggest from AK?

Ok , Andy . This winter i want to build some nice shelves for my work bench and a paint booth with a descent exhaust fan . I'll send you some pics of it when i get it done .

I wish I built it myself... remember I am not red neck enough and I need to learn from you my friend.  My buddy who is into wood work helped me build it.  

Mig pigments are there on the bottom right now but I think I will put them back into the drawer because it is taking up table space.  I will still use them for the tracks or dust...

Nice work bench area Andy .Did you build the shelves ? My eye seems to be drawn to the center ....................oops ! I saw in another picture of yours where you had Mig pigs all lined up along the bottom .............................so you got rid of them ?

I love AK products and I don't use MIG pigments that much since I first tried AK last April.  They make great streaks and washes readily mixed that you only need to shake the bottle real good before using it.  

Just check my expanded shelves especially the second and third from the bottom. LOL

You will like them too... 

Andy , i'm really satisfied with the pigs . Now that Mig is closing shop it looks like AK will be the place to go . Have you tried their pigments ?
