Stunning work using the pigments!!!

I finally have the tires mounted . These tires are the "rubber " type and are sandwhiched between the two wheel halves . After mounting the tires i sprayed them with a matt finish and applied Mig pigs . It took several evenings to get the effect i wanted .

Dude... love those seats.  I saw a leather jacket that looks exactly like that for some crazt stupid money.  I'll just get you to paint one for me.  The wear onthe floor by the gas pedal look sweet.  Makes me what a Whopper cuz I'm lovin' it.

I fixed the back of the seats and thought i'd see how the interior is going to look with the cab top on .

I didnt like the look of the cab floor or the seat cushions in the previouse pictures so while i was putting some backs on the seats i cleaned the Mig pigs off of the floor , retouched the seats , put the seat backs on and put a hole in the floor matt that could be worn out by the gas /brake pedals . Also i reset the photo tint . There was more tan showing in the earlier pics than was actually there on the model .

William . i couldnt stand the look of the open seat backs ........beers under the seats now .......

William , interesting about the wood floor and seat frames . That might be a standard practice . Did you ever watch that truck driving program from India ? The cab on their trucks were made from wood ! That'd be some kind of splinter box in a crash wouldnt it .

That empty seat back is where the NVA stash their stolen American beer... I am pretty sure it is supposed to be there...... any how progress looks good ,Shell. When I was reading about the ZiL in the workshop manual, it said the body floor and doors frames are all made out of wood with the sheet metal skin of course and the seats are also framed of wood . I thought that was kind of interesting. I think wood would be a problem with the humidity in Vietnam .

I used my Mig Pigs to weather the interior . I mixed them with water to get the lighter blotches.

and looking at your new "signature inspiration" I can see why you chose the Zil truck to -uh- model.

I painted a base coat of Model Master enamel leather (darkened with flat black) then dry brushed straight leather , then leather lightened with white and sprayed it overall with a matt finish made from Tamiya flat mixed with Future .

So where's all of the radiator detail now ? I just painted this tonight .hard to believe it ends up looking like the fender color after weathering ...........hopefully !

Hey William i found some pics and i'm thinkin your idear about the manually operated louvers on the radiator looks correct .

Look at the 2 knobs sticking out of the dash . One (the one pulled out ) is probaly attached to what is the end of a cable that runs to the carburetor choke and the other might be running to the radiator louvers .

Comming out of the fire wall and running forward and down towards the radiator is the tubing that the cable probably runs inside of to the radiator louvers ?

I dont see any hoses off the tranny or another cooler at the bottom of the rediators . Kit might be a different version ?

Geeze all of that research ......fun aint it ! I didnt know about the tire pressure being controlled of the air compressor like thay .I need to look how thats done and maybe incorporate the details of it .

I'll have to get these details on my kit .

That erks me... can't find nuthin' on the cooling system... sorry
