Just before I started on the wethering I had to fix some parts and add tie downs to the antennas.

Repainted FL-Black.

Seconded from far-off Australia! WhiteR34, that's an absolute competition-winner, and belongs in the magazine! It's taken you two years to complete it but it was worth every moment, and is one of the finest armour models I have ever seen!

"Congratulations" is an understatement!

Mike/TB379

PS: If there's an IDF 2 I'd like to take a shot at finishing my Merk 2, and I have an Academy Fitter that might find its way into the mix as well.

Thanks guys I have sent in a request to the first guys that started this IDF craze (Fantacmet). Now if he's not able to jump on this I'll start a Group Build in the GB section. An post a link from here, I will start on an IDF  badge to day, and keep it on hold till I see whom will host this years IDF GB.

I'll be in again.....The 6-BGal is almost done, so if we can use partially started/completed models, I'll go with another 6B

Lets discuss it here, rules and such.  The main question is how far do we want to be able to allow fictitious builds and what-if's?  Money is getting pretty tight around here, and the cost of IDF kits around here is going up and they are getting harder to find so I would probably have to do a what-if.

If we can go ahead and get things hammered out here, I'll go ahead and fire it up in the GB forum this weekend.  This way we can allow figures, and aircraft and whatnot as well.  Although worst case I suppose I could get another spitfire and do it in IDF markings.  Also how long do we want to make the next one?  Also open to start date suggestions this time as I have no idea.  The last one was to commemorate what was supposed to be the birth of my second child, but alas he didn't come when he was supposed to.  Hospital decision since it was a scheduled c-section.

Hi Fantacmet,

For myself, I think the idea of a broader-based IDF GB is a great one, armour, aircraft, figures, the whole gamut of the Israeli military during the tenure of the nation. I can think of a lineup of subjects I would like to tackle beyond my Fitter AEV, especially a Mustang in '48 colours, maybe that black Spitfire that's now in the museum... Find some AMs and take a shot at a Tiran IV in '82, maybe a Heyl Ha'avir F-15, F-16, Mirage or Phantom... There's fabulous subject matter to be had and I'll certainly sign up for a second build.

Hopefully crossovers and incomplete builds would be admissible, I would love to finish my Merkava II from the first build, and if I should take a crack at a Phantom perhaps it would cross over with one of my "Rhinomania" F-4 GBs, either this year or next.

Some very ambitious projects were completed for the first round, perhaps a full year is warranted again?

My 2 cents worth!

Cheers, Mike/TB79

Hello Fantacmet my man! Wink

About what you and Thunder have said I agree with you both on the types of subject matter. What-if are cool with me. I feel that with the subject of a what if we get a fill of what in the mind and hart of the "Modeler" or "Miniature engineer" - I just made that up it sounder even cooler than just modeler. About the time lingth could we go for a year and a half say like 2010-now to late-2011. Because it is hard to find kets. We have to take into "consideration" The Research times and history that some one my need to do to try and get the nonfictional armor right.

Well what I'm really getting at is, I fill that (Some of us) need a longer time or year for building our real IDF Aircraft or Armor and not (what-ifs).,

Now one thing we all must do, is to be willing to give info to our fellow (MEs)-Miniature Engineers., on sales of cheap items, sites an where they can save money and "whatnot" he he he I like that ((Whatnot)) Cool. I right now have two Mk. IIIs(3),  two Mk.IVs(4), one Hughes 500, one M151A1 MUTT and so on. So you see is have a lot of kit's I can convert as well as build right out of the box., but as for the guys that may want to build somting that's on the aftermarket(Resin kits), well those kits can be high in price and I have seen some go on sale from time to time. An I'm willing to give up some of my sources to help any one.

Only in PM guys. An my last suggestion is that ones this is all over this time, that one of us starts a post full of the finished units. (Units) meaning: Aircraft and Armor what-ifs included. An that the guys that can't come in a repost there finished project. Please be willing to let one of the othere MEs repost your work for you. Ka?

Fully agreeing with White -- a year (at last) would be a good length of time, not only because we all have so many projects in hand but because the potential breadth of subject matter in this GB is remarkable! I just scored Aeromaster's decals for the S-199 in Israeli service, to replace the typically poor decals of the Academy kit, so this one becomes a potential subject for me as well.

Cheers, Mike/TB379
