Tim... if I smash it ... be sure of this one thing. I will record it for all to see. It would be my crowning achievement for this model and this thread. You can count on it.

So, you are saying..................... I should paint it like a Rubiks Cube? Lol.

Surprise

I like my idea. Heck... I might even rent a high speed camera so that I can record every nuance of its disintegration. Wouldn't that be a peach? Hehe.

The Who theme

I've often wondered if, when Horton hears the Who if it's Wembley or Leeds . . .

Live at Leeds, one of my favorite albums.  I played all those songs as one big set in one of my bands.

It was released the same year as "Beneath the Planet of the Apes".

And that gives me an idea...

Bakster, don't blow it up.  Bury it!   A future somebody (Who?) will dig it up and continue the build.

Can I at least smack it with a shovel before I bury it?

Um ... yes Dr Zaius. It was at this level where I found the lump of resin. And there is the paradox!!! The further back in time that we go--the crummier the model!!!

Greg! This ship has passed. Where to? It's passed into the land of wartdom! Now... you may not get that reference because you didn't follow this tragedy--but Capn sure gets it. He even has a scientific name for said affliction.

Yeah, there's always a quick, cheap, and dirty solution...

Put the Icarus on a base covered in sand and cover the flaws with sand or weeds and tell people it's the Icarus 30 years after the movie.

Oh wait, Taylor detonated the Omega bomb and blew everything to hell and gone. Sorry, well it was an idea...

"Glory be to the bomb and to the Holy Fallout."   That has to be one of the worst cheese lines in Apedom history.

Well, you could build a diorama with an ape on top of it beating it with a shovel...

More thought, which spacecraft did the apes launch in 'Escape From Planet of the Apes'? I guess the one the second expedition arrived in would still be there on Earth.

Personally I think it might be the biggest 'up yours' statement in any movie. You kill Taylor's girlfriend and he blows up your planet..... Stick out tongue

Just a thought ....

You could build it as the ship from the second movie.

Scorch it a bit, in all the poorly molded places, and your back in business.

( And, yes .... you get to "smack it around" as much as you want.)

Steve, nice to hear from you. Yeah, I have to say that the idea provides a path that is somewhat palatable to me. Turning a warty hole ridden goblin into a shattered burned out corpse... well, that might just work. It's not much of a leap from one condition to the other.

I have two other projects going on now. So, this will have to wait. But, there may be hope for the beast in an alternate form.

This idea might have been floated by Tim before. I seem to recall something. I was not ready to even consider it. But, you get some credit too, Gam. Your started the conversation in that direction. Heck--I can thank all of you that are posting because one comment lead to another.  So--thanks guys.

Icarus may live again.

I had to go back and re-read a bunch for the New Year. That had to add a few dozen views.

Some of this is starting to remind me of Monty Python:

"... Well, what do you think: We can bury her or burn her?

Well, um, which would you recommend?"

Well, the important thing is you made it to 22,000 views.
