My house is bit small to have all of you come over. And the wife probably wouldn't approve.

I was thinking that arrangements for all the ships to send the ships to whoever was going to Wonderfest so that a joint display could be set up.

Very cool! That Klingon cruiser is looking sharp.Cool [8D]
Sorry I haven't posted anything new lately. The good news is that my Baton Rouge masters are on there way to Starship Modelers' store. The bad new is that now I'm going to have to hurry up and build a box art model. I hope to get back on my Avenger very soon.

I'm having a hard time keeping up with all the great work you guys are doing. Again, I am honored.

I was wondering, is there any way all these ships could be physically be displayed somewhere?

I will correct the struts that connect the engines to the wings after they are securely attached.
Then I will work on the belly of this beast and move on to the neck!

Thanks, Matt. I'd appreciate any help.

Hey Steven, good new and bad. The good news is I found something that matches up great (WOO HOO)! The bad news is its a drop tank off of a kit I don't have anymore so I'm not sure what it goes too (BOOOO)Confused [%-)]. Back to the good news (YEAH!) I don't need it for anything so I would be happy to mail it to you. The side profile is almost dead on and if you widen it with a piece of 3/16" plastic or plexi-glass it would look great and give it that oval shape. I even found a bomb that would work for the little round end on it and have some scrap 3/16" plexi-glass. Just drop me an e-mail with your addy and I'll drop it in the mail.Big Smile [:D]

From the looks of it, the Kestrel bustle could be made from a 1/32 scale jet drop tank- it looks more like an ovoid, since it seems to wrap around forward. Just a suggestion, and not necessarily a good one. Two tailcones, or something similar could be butted together too.

While I'm waiting to get my PV and Taurus build done I thought I would share this with you guys. I started the saucer for the USS Swordfish awhile back and turned the secondary hull from a piece of hard wood.

Thanks guys, should finish bottom tonight. The bottom of the ship that is! Big Smile [:D] I'm trying to find an existing shape for the tail. As I look through my "World Airpower" book it seems that a tail section from a commercial type aircraft might work, maybe in 1/144 scale. Anybody have one that they could compare to the shape at the museum?

Haven't done a thing on my little D-7, a cheapo piece of styrene! I am filled with shame! But I watched Star Trek the Motion Picture last night and am all revved up to get back to the D-7 after seeing the cool opening sequence of the Klingon attack.

Hey, it's an unknown object, possibly a life form. Better attack it immediately. Ah, I am fond of the Klingons.

Leelan, Sometimes when we are on a roll and things start to go south it seems pretty bad. I find if I walk away from the bench and have a soda, things look much better when I return to the project. I like to think, "It's only plastic and can always be molded to my will".
I'm really looking forward to seeing those pics.

My Klingon D6 is coming along. No pictures yet. Sad [:(]

I have the engines at 75%. The main hull is about the same.

The backwards bug must have bit me too, Woody!
I started this build from the uttermost aft! Propeller [8-]

Thought I had a crisis Saturday. I started comparing what I had built to some of the images and got a little insecure. I am building from aft forward and bottom up. But some of the art looks to be best built from the top down!

I mean, this is my second shot at the main hull. I would be very unhappy making a third attempt! Banged Head [banghead]

Luckily, I was able to cut a mm or two out of its thickness and proceed to the wings. I will be starting the neck and command pod in a day or so...

Should have some pictures to share by Wednesday, 16th March! Wink [;)]

Hi Mark, This group build only has one rule and that is that your project must be from "The Starfleet Museum" website. Why don't you start a "Starfleet Technical Manual" group build here at FSM? Sounds like fun to me.Wink [;)] If not I hope you post your build and finished model pics in FSM's forum, I'm sure everyone would love to see them.

I'm still grinding away on the Torsk and the Chowder. I've been picking out decals for the Torsk as I start painting. All of the miscellaneous blisters on the hull and drive section of the Chowder are in place, and I'm whittling the wings out of renshape, which truly is wonderous stuff! First time I've used it and I'm a fan. Those odd lottle warp pods are still troubling me- I have some cut down from plastic spoons that look OK, but I'm still leaning to carving a master and vacuforming. Any suggestions?
