Kit is right. You could sell the tar out of those. There is a big demand for Klingon ships.

I designed Predator/Avenger to counter the D6. A kit (or two) of Predator/Avenger is coming, so I think a kit of D6 is also required...

Great work! That is easily the most interesting Klingon project I've seen this year. I'm really looking forward to your progress on this ship.

Since the last photo I have laminated eleven sheet of For Sale signs into the split-level Bridge deck.
The putty is drying while I am typing this!

Next steps are the throat of the boom and the Bridge assembly itself!

The homemade stuff was great for filling in across the built up stock for the main shape. I did have a slight problem with depressions that crept up as it dried. No biggie.
I do like the Magic sculp for things that need to be manipulted with fingers(fingers no like goop!)

Steven how do you like working with that home brew putty?

Masao, That's great. Thank you. There is a lot going on in that trim secondary hull.

Yeah, there's a reactor, antimatter bottles, deterium tanks, and that cannon, which probably feeds directly off the reactor. But without a torpedo launcher, shuttle bay, or deflector, I think (I hope) there's just enough room.

Masao, Do you have a pic of the Avenger with a nacelle removed so I can see the profile of the hulls and neck clearly?

Lookin' forward to pics too, Leelan.

Woody, the nacelles were just those Uniball gel pen casings from Michael's I mentioned. They're a little long but I took some liberties. Shape isn't exact but I like them. Hope you don't mind a little deviation Masao. The mating of the nacelles to the hull actually worked better than I expected. I put down some Tamiya tape first, used an Xacto to cut the curves based on the drawing and pulled off the middle. Than applied Magic Sculp(first time with it, love it already). Next need to sand down and fill some more.

Whew! Finally able to get back to work on the D-6! Big Smile [:D]

Finished bashing the nacelle struts then reattached the engines.

``````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````
Sculpting the belly proved to be amazingly easy. Cool [8D]
Built the forward plane out of card and then the waist (or thickest cross section of the belly) and filled that space with Magic Sculp.
The ventral fantail puzzled me for a bit. Eight Ball [8]
But finally I just went for it and bent a piece of card and CA-ed it into place. More MS and a bit of sanding and voila!
``````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````

Just this morning I laminated plastic card (read For Sale signs from WalMart) and shaped the upper portion of the neck.

Now I have to fashion the lower half of the neck before I build the command section.
I have the forward topedo tube ready for just such an eventuality.

I know this would be more exciting with pictures. But that will have to wait until next week.
Let your imagination picture what I have done so far.

Even without paint, it is looking amazingly like Masao's design! Tongue [:P]

Pictures by Monday!

StevenQ: Kestrel is looking sweet. I'm happy that the way I drew the nacelle-hull interface actually resembles the interface on the physical model. (It was a bitch to draw!)

Thank you. I was just asked by a resin kit producer if I they could produce the Avenger from my masters. It might become a kit after all. We'll just have to wait and see.

Looks like it's coming together real good. What did you make the nacelles out of?

Great link! I see they carry urethane casting resin for half what I'm paying now. Hmmmm...Interesting.

Hey guys found a place for those acrylic domes I was looking for: http://www.kitkraft.biz/customer/home.php?cat=229
They have all sorts of other stuff too. I solved the problem of the warp engines with something else, but this might come in handy in the future. I think I'm going to buy some Magic Sculp from them.

Woody, Outstanding work! Man I have to get on the ball. I haven't even finished the Taurus nacelles yet and still have the PV to wrap upDisapprove [V]. Maybe I'll have to take a vacation so I can get caught up.

Nice work Woody. I'm afraid I've stalled out too. Kids wanting to do stuff, etc.
