Im jealous! I always thought my badger tc910 was quiet, until, i just put the meter on it, A weighted If i remember correctly, just around 75-77db. Fooey.

That's a good-looking compressor and I gave it a serious look.

Sounds like you have a real db meter. I use an app on my phone and I don't know how accurate it is. But at least I can compare relative noise levels, so I know the Paasche is around 10 db louder than the Sparmaxx.

funny, or not, the grass is always greener on the other side for me. :(    If i had more room in my already too full of junk workroom, id get the one you choose even though mine is fine - but loud now!!  Smile. My hearing is starting to go so youd think itd be no issue.  Of well.   When we built the house, i had the builder run a copper line from the garage to the workroom and i have this incredibly noisy an old lowes compressor there for tires and such.  I think you can hear the thing for blocks.  But, like trying to figure out the myriad of different sized fittings for air tools, ive had a challenge, or more realistically - im lazy, in taking the time to get it to work with the correct fittings.   One day!  Here are both sides.

Keep on modeling!

All the best,

William

I'm going back to shake and squirt rather than the stir and pipette because it think that was doing no good.

So far so good, but I have little experience yet.

Well if it's bubble we're seeing, the mesh would probably break them up. Obviously if it's particles they will be held back by the mesh. I'm not a big fan of their squirt cap but been using that too such as it is. I wonder if continued filtering at the original bottle neck will collect up to something un usable one day ? I'm for mixing in everything I can, pouring out through a strainer and get the good stuff back into the bottle if possible. So far I've been able to mix most everything back together with the Badger gizmo so I haven't hit that stage just yet.. And I think what I see on the stem of that or a mixing stick is bubbles of some weird sort, maybe foam. I don't know, I let it sit for a bit, squirt some in the airbrush or mixing bottle ( I make my own grey ), put it in the airbrush and spray. So far so good.

I often wonder if a shot of flow aid or dish soap in there would break things up. If I conduct that experiment I'll let you know. You know me, I'm game lol.

Seems mighty funny I never get this with the white or never noticed it..

I have that gene too, I get it.

Good thinking on the line from the garage. Whilst obsessing over things compressor-related the past couple of weeks, many times I've thought how nice it would be to have a line from the garage. Yes

That's a nice setup.

OMG, just had a thought on the funny pattern on the stirrer stem. I presume you keep keep the stirrer on while slowly removing it like I do. Maybe it's just as simple as centrifugal force creating the odd pattern.

Dunno why I never thought of that.

Back to the strainer in the cap, one reason I decided to try it is this stuff dries so fast I theorized that having the cap off the stir and pipette-transfer probably causes drying around the mouth, and that has to fall somewhere. Though maybe best to keep the lid on.

OTOH, I hate the way the paint drips all over the bottle with the squirty cap.

I've tried stopping at the bottom of the bottle, the "stuff" is still there I think, well maybe I don't recall so hot. But I do know I've stuck my mixing stick in there after shaking and gotten the same effect, so it's not just a power mixer phenomenon it seems...

On another note that made me think of your issue a week or two back, with all the humid weather this summer I actually drained a pretty good sized batch of water from my compressor this morning. Never effected anything cause it was just sitting in the tank bottom but ya, this summer has been humid.

So much for that theory, then. Smile

Yes, it has. I'll know more as I paint more, but so far I think a dryer air supply is helping.
