I contacted the maker....he said to send the pics to Shapeways service and they will replace.  If I don't have to return, I'll try a couple of things on these.

Appreciate the idea on another thing to try.

20mm's.  Have to remove the shields and straighten the barrels.

If anyone has fooled with the 3D material and has suggestions I'm open to hearing them. Don't know if warming them up in warm water or a hairdryer will do the trick.  I know they will harden up under UV in sunlight.

From Model Monkey's tips:

How can I fix warped acrylic plastic parts?  Sometimes microscopic bits of uncured resin remain within the acrylic plastic.  This is a normal characteristic of 3D-printing (this does not affect metal nameplates).  The presence of uncured resin can permit acrylic plastic to warp when wrapped tightly for shipping.  Should you receive a warped acrylic plastic part, no worries!  Tape the part to a sturdy, flat surface with clear "Scotch" or cellophane tape in the desired flat or straight position.  Set the part in direct sunlight (or place it under a UV lamp) for a few hours.  Any uncured resin will fully harden when exposed to UV light.  The now fully-hardened plastic will remain flat or straight when you remove the clear tape.  Clear tape is recommended because it helps UV light reach all of the plastic and fully cure all of the resin.

I would think the above tip is dependent on the material used.

Maybe request replacements or inquire if a replacment can be sent if the above warpage is not Fixed by the Tape-UV light method.

Oh wow!

GreySnake: Nice haul there!!!

Real G: Those are cool, never even seen the 'Toy Story' models before. Love the idea of giving Woody some huge gun from the Japanese 1/12th kits. The whole 'frame arms' concept both fasinates and confuses me...

Goldhammer: Wow, that 1/24th Hellcat sounds amazing! It's a big honkin' plane in 1/48th gotta be huge in that scale!

Just pulled the trigger on the Airfix 1/24 Hellcat.  LHS had one on the shelf.  It latched on to my ankle and wouldn't let go.  Box just fit lengthwise behind the rear seats in the equinox.

On the other end of the spectrum, it's Woody and Buzz!!!  Howdy howdy howdy.

My family and I just got back from a trip to Disney World.  Before that I probably wouldn't have been interested.  However, I may need to check out the Toy Story models.

Are you planning on building them?

It's raining kits!  Several pre-orders showed up all at once at the office yesterday.  My coworkers asked me if I had time to build all that stuff.  Probably not, but it is fun to dream!

The large kit, Bandai's Grendizer, is actually for a friend who is a huge "Super Robot" fan.  That 1970s genre preceded the "Real Robot" genre of the 1980s (which I am a huge fan of).  It is amazing that the love for nostalgia like Grendizer is still strong today, and even more so that Bandai has seen fit to make new tool, super detailed kits of the titular robots.

The Triebflugel is Amusing Hobby's 1/48 rendition.  And now we wait for a new tool kit in 1/72.

On the other end of the spectrum, it's Woody and Buzz!!!  Howdy howdy howdy.  I though it was really neat that Bandai made kits of Toy Story characters.  Man they are seriously ca$hing in on their licenses!  The beauty of these kits is that they are models of toys, so painting and seam filling are truly not needed!  And while I hate Bandai's policy of providing stickers instead of waterslides, this time it is perfect!  Just the thing I need to "unpimp" my builds.

The sharp eyed will note the 1/12 gun kits.  The Japanese have got a strange affectation for little girls with machine guns, tanks, giant robots, etc.  But it allows me to get nice kits of all kinds of firearms.  I noticed Woody never had a six shooter in his holster.  I can get him one.  Or a Dirty Harry Magnum.  Or a 7.62 mm minigun like the Terminator used in T2.  But seriously I have no idea what I'm going to do with them.  Which is the perfect setting for the Devil's playground...

Picked up more kits then I expected the last couple weeks. A neighbor was moving and asked for help and paid very generously. Ended up picking up some kits I’ve had my eye on with the extra cash.
The Type 16 has had my eye for the past few months. Just couldn’t bring myself buy it as it’s still full price but ended up pulling the trigger and I’m glad I did. It’s a lot bigger then I expected and should build up nicely in the typical Tamiya fashion.
These three Trumpeter models I found on my eBay travels. I managed to snag all of them for well below retail. The T-72 is an intimating kit with over twelve hundred parts!

Now I thought the T-72 was intimating but I found the T-54 for Amazon for half price with an extra 25% off and snatched it up. With the most complete interior this kit makes Dragon kits look simple. Think it has around ninety sprues or so.

Everyone is getting some great goodies.  Found these in an old school hobby shop today in San Antonio, TX. Models from floor to ceiling and staffed with great folks who loved talking plastic!

Mailman delivered the Williams Bros Caudron today. I'm liking the lines of some of the old race planes.  Got some paint too.  It's blue.

We were way on holiday when Dad's Day came and went, so our youngest son dropped this off on our return....

And a not unconnected website/magazine did a build on this in the latest edition of the mag so I was lucky to find one at a great price on our ebay UK, so I though I'd have a go at building one!.............

Thanks, guys!  The Flakpanzer is the old Tamiya release, though I'm not sure the PE and metal parts were included in the original.  It's got it's own problems to correct.

Antique malls, flea markets, thrift stores are all good places sometimes, but this is the first time I've actually found a stall pretty much dedicated to models and related stuff.  He even had old modeling magazines (FSM)!

Well, I don't have anything quite as fancy (or expensive) to show off, but while browsing the local antique mall today I ran across a booth selling modeling magazine, books and models.  Most of the things were way too expensive for me, but there were a couple of things I picked up cheaply.  "Cheap" is my operative phrase here.

First is the CMK 1/35 scale Flakpanzer IV / 3.7 cm Flak.  I grabbed it because it was in the "Damaged" bin, and the blurb on the front says it has some started pieces.  It does, but the person who was working on this had done some good stuff such as replacing the floor with checkered plating under the flak cannon.  It contains PE and metal parts.  The only downside is no decals, but if I can't find or make some balkenkreus then I should just stop.  If nothing else, I can use it for spare parts for the Academy PIV diorama I want to build.

Next is the Lindberg JN4D Jenny.  Ever since Don Stauffer built one about a year ago of the Smithsonian example, I've been wanting to pick one up.  It was probably a bit too expensive at $8.00, but it's an older boxing so I'm not unhappy.

When you're on a fixed income, you take what you can get.  Big Smile

Goldhammer,

Wow those sub guns look amazing, especially the seats on the big gun!  Please post pics after you have had a chance to prime them.  I noticed Shapeways almost always has CGI photos of their wares, which are not necessarily representative of the final finish of the actual product.  I bought a few bits from them and was a little surprised about the amount of post-purchase consumer prep needed - bathing in UV light to fully cure the resin (shouldn't they have done that already?), plus all the caveats on the types of acceptable paints.

I got this in last week after pre-odering and waiting for months - Bandai's Premium On-Line 1/100 scale Master Grade MS-09G Dwadge, from the late 1980's TV show "Double Zeta Gundam".

https://flic.kr/p/2gAU9ge] [/url]Dwadge-01 by N.T. Izumi, on Flickr

Bandai has started an on-line exclusive program where they sell lesser known kit variants not available in stores.  Far from a cheap Hasegawa "throw some resin bits into the box with a new decal sheet" approach, most of them are truly different from their parent kits.  They do some cheap-o releases that are nothing more than re-colored versions of retail market kits, but some like the Dwadge have a surprising amount of new tool parts.  I think Bandai outdid themselves on this one, as some replacement parts have only subtle differences to the stock Dom kit.

Unfortunately, they only sell to their domestic market, so us foreigners have to get them by third party.  The releases are one-time and production is truly limited, so if you miss it, it's gone.  My first reaction was that Bandai was just jerking off the foreign market (thus I refer to the program as "Pee Bandai"), but it's not all about me.  Embarrassed  By selling a limited number of kits directly to the consumer, Bandai takes all the profits and does not have to worry about overstock inventory.  I'm sure the Japanese distributors and retail shops are feeling butthurt.  But Bandai is a corporate giant like Disney, with annual sales in the billions of dollars, so they don't care.  It's an evil greedy plan, but it seems to be working.  But at the end of the day, some unique desirable kits can be had for a price.

After all that grousing, I will confess to being thrilled by the Dwadge, and it will enter the fast-track build queue.

GS, that’s a nice score from Dragon. I can say that the SA-9 is not worth $40 asking price. I highly suggest that if the kit still comes with the soft rubber tires that you look for some replacement aftermarket tires ahead of time. The Dragon rubber tires tend to split within a short time of being installed over the rims.

The SA-9 still has the rubber wheels. When I opened the box and saw those figured they’d be junk. Looks like replacing them with resin BRDM-2 wheels will cost a lot more then what the kit did.

Those are some nice scores you got. The YW-701A looks really interesting.

My shipment from Dragon arrived late last week. Took advantage of the sell they had going on and the extra 30% of promo for 4th of July.

I’ve been wanting the Geschutzwagen 38H for some time and with the promotion it was less than $20. I seem to have developed a love for post war Russian armor and also picked up the SA-9 with Motor Rifle Troopers. The kit was $6 I believe with the promotion. Not a bad deal at all considering the SA-9 on its own is $40 on Dragon’s website.
