Thanks fellas, glad you like it so far!

Man, these 1/32 parts are huge!  Quite a difference than my usual 1/48 stuff. Wink [;)]

Daywalker,

Did your kit come with the seated pilot figure? If so, are you going to use it?

Yes, mine does come with the pilot.  I am planning to include him at this point.  Are you looking for one?

No. I was just wondering if anything else is needed other than belts if you don't want to include the pilot. I am not real sure if the whole seat is there or not.

As always you attention to detail Frank is what makes your models top notch. Thought I would let you guys in on the markings I plan on useing for my K-4. They are one of the three options that the kit came with and the one that is on the box art. I thought they were pretty cool. By the way does anyone have the Fujimi 1/48 K-4 in thier stash. Bought the kit of eBay and for some reason some putz lost the instructions! I think I can build her with out them but having them would be nice. Searched the net but came up empty on instructions. Anyway here is the color plate.

Warhammer25- Ok, I gotcha.  The lower seat pan is the seat on a late model 109, with the rear of the cockpit serving as a seatback.  Just some seatbelts, and you're on your way. Thumbs Up [tup]

Thanks SC!  I appreciate that.  Sorry I cannot help you with that instruction sheet, hopefully someone else here has a copy and can lend a hand.

Hi all,

I just got home from the LHS. I picked up Tamiya XF-24 as closest to RLM-66 by eyeball. I reckon lighten with 10% white and I'll be there.

I had a quick reccie for anything appropriate to this GB and late 109s were thin on the ground... G-6, G-10 and K-4 by Hasegawa, all in 1:32, going for between $55 and $65 (Aus), and an Academy 1:48 G-14 for a more modest $22. That was about it, there were a few Emils and plenty of Focke-Wulf 190s.

With five months I might squeeze in something extra, we'll see. For now, I have a Hasegawa 1:48 K-4 to tackle.

Cheers,

Mike/TB379

"The lower seat pan is the seat on a late model 109, with the rear of the cockpit serving as a seatback."

Good heavens -- I was looking at the plans for the K-4 just yesterday and thinking, errrmmm, isn't there something missing?!

Must have been bloody uncomfortable getting slammed around with G-force without a proper seat...

Thanks Daywalker. I am going to pick up the Eduard belt set then for my K-4 along with the decals.

Hey guys, Here's my 1/32 Hasegawa Bf109G-14 that I built a while back as that of Erich Hartmann's G-14 in a winter scheme.

So I see we are showing off some of the oldies instead of working on the newies.  And all beautiful stuff.  What the heck, I'm in...

This is the 1st models I built back in '05 after a 20 break. 1st w' resin and PE. Everything forward of the windscreen, except the prop, is resin.

This is an F from that winter wonderland known as the Eastern front.

Well it looks like were off. I'll get started on my project tonight. here's some tips fo late war 109's. G-10/K-4 did not have much if any stenciling. Fuel markers were about it. If fact many 109's the wing walk and other stenciling were usually either worn off, painted over or never there. For those of you building hasegawa 1/48 scale kits, don't forget you need to scribe a additional panel line on the upper wing surface and for those building the K there is a vent in the center of the lower wing assembly under the fuselage. This will need to be removed. The K had totally different wing from the G.

For those building G-10's and want accuracy, check your references. Kit maufactures can't tell the difference between a G-10, G-14/AS or a mitt reg 130 block G-10. Hasegawa has G-10 kits out with marking for all the above. I have them If you want to know or confirm what you have.

Wing nut Yellow 11 looks good, you catptured the rough look of the temp winter camo very well on  yellow 13.

Espins That looks real nice. I plan no doing that in 1/24 scale trumpy kit. I hope I can pull it off.  You did a great job marbling the temp white paint. The only 2 things I see is the canopy should be the base color as these were usually not painted in the temp white and the stenciling would have been under the white.

mike and frank both of you are way too talented for your own good.

I can't remember any others right now.

Initial construction on my cockpit is done. Not that there were many pieces to assemble... So this week the painting will commence. Maybe I can finish one on time for a change, since I started on the opening day...

Way to keep us motivated, guys! Thumbs Up [tup]  Been making a bit of progress on mine as well ...... actually a ton of it. Been working at a fever pace (I guess I'd forgotten how cool these 109's are to build). The 'pit is done (except for the gunsight and the hatch area behind the pilot) and installed. Fuselage halves are together and the seams are clean. PE exhaust shrouds have been installed, but I still need to file off the 4 molded-on semi-elliptical intakes on the nose and replace them with resin parts. The PE grills have been installed in the wings, but not yet painted, along with the PE inner covers that depict the inner surface of the wings as seen through the wheel wells. That's about it so far. Wink [;)]

....been too busy to take pics, opting for progress on the build instead, but I'll try and get some posted soon. Thumbs Up [tup] Keep 'em comin'!

Good idea. Called them tonight. They have three G-6 and a G-10 in stock. And that's just in Hasegawa. Should be back tomorrow night with a kit to anounce for my build.

Luftwaffle -- superb work as always, I envy your 109 collection!

Scott -- she looks superb, Hartmann himself would be proud of that model. I am sooo tempted to smack down the cash for that one, but I have simply no display space for larger models at this time.

Wingnut -- fabulous! I have GOT to build Yellow 13 in that cloud scheme -- Hasegawa? AM decals?

Hoping to slap on some schwartzgrau ("Schwartz! May da Schwatz be with you!" Ahem...) later and thus officially get a start.

Cheers,

Mike/TB379

***GROAN!***

That was bad. Disapprove [V]

LOL

hk- Sounds like they have you are looking for!  As soon as you have one in hand, I'll update page 1 for you.

Glad to see you fellas are jumping right on!  I want to work on mine some more, but I am in the middle of a 48 GB and it's taking all of my bench time.  As soon as that's over, I'll be back to work on the G-10! Big Smile [:D]

Hi Wing Nut --

Many thanks! I would really like to add that pretty birdy to my display case! That's one of the great things about German planes and armor, the infinite variety of schemes mean there's always another amazing, artistic job to be done. I mean, if you're into F-16s, you'd better like gray! (Well, there is variety, but you couldn't put twenty of them in a display case without it seeming at least a bit monotonous...)

Cheers,

Mike/TB379

Just got back from the HS. I'm in with the Academy G-14, Gefreiter Alfred Michael, France, 1945.

I don't know how I did it but I when in and discovered a sale. Buy two plastic kits and get one free. Walked around with two kits, a bottle of Alclad and two MM colors for nearly an hour, looked at nearly everything in the plastic and tools section and ended up putting one kit back and leaving with exactly what I went in after, minus the second Alclad color because they didn't have it.

I spent so much time trying to decide what the free kit should be I became stumped and gave up.

This build will start when I get the mustang on the bench finished this week.

Hi Gumiflex and Hkshooter --

I'll be very interested to read your build reports of the Academy G-14. That's one of very few late model 109s that was on the shelf at my LHS the other day. I've built a couple of Academy armor kits this year and can report they go together very nicely indeed -- subtly different from both Tamiya and Dragon, and much more friendly than Trumpeter (at least early Trumpeter).

Cheers, guys,

Mike/TB379
