Bish, your build really gets a sense a scale on your paint stand. That thing is huge! Looking good.

I made a lot of progress last night. Future coat is next. Then, decals and weathering. I'm almost done! That is, except for my little display diorama... and a few figures. Thanks for having a look.

Thanks Tom. And that's a good point, I should have out the engine on it. I will try and remember to do that next time. I think most people have an idea how big those stands are.

I'm a little late to the party, but it looks like things are kicking off well so far! I'm back on the forum after several years, so I'm just getting my feet wet. I currently am planning a build of Cyber Hobby's Bf 109 E-4, marked as one of Hans "Assi" Hahn's planes. I'll get pics up soon, but time is a little limited so it may be a few days. I'm not sure when I'll start the build, I'm still doing a little more research, but it should hopefully be this month.

Is there anything else I need to do to sign up for this GB? Definitely looking forward to this one. Thanks!

Okay, I've got started on the pit for my 109G-6, I didn't order any AM enhancements for this build, but I have decided to scratchbuild some minor components myself.  Here are a couple of shots.

I painted the interior with RLM 66 and then dry-brushed some areas using a combination of MM metallic chrome and Testors aluminum.  I then applied a coat of Alclad Aqua Gloss and finished with a wash of burnt umber.  I used a folded up piece of tissue brushed with 50/50 white glue/water for the chute/seat pad and the seat belts are strips of lead foil from a bottle of wine the wife and I shared.

I got to the detail painting on the -D today, pretty much down to final assembly. My next job is unmask the canopy, and I'm a bit anxious to see if the paint will peel as it did on my Stuka last year. I washed the canopy after masking to remove skin oils, so hopefully the paint will have got a decent bite...

John. Unbelievable. ...I knew you were doing a 72nd scale but the first two pics look so much bigger. Great build

John, excellent result. Really nice work. Added the exhaust  stains with gouache water color paint sprayed at 3-4 psi. I like using gouache because you still get the sprayed on look, but if you mess up it comes right off with water like pigments.

Small update from my workbench,  will post pics later on tonight since I cannot access PB at work.  I was adding the final oil washes to my G6 (yellow 2, F. Steigler) and set her down, must have pressed down too hard as both main gear collapsed and broke off.  looked at drilling holes for wires and re-gluing, but also had a set of the Eduard Brassin landing gear on hand so spent several hours drilling and filing out the mounting locations for the new legs.  

Also, began working on the Eduard E-3 for this GB, determined that I will be painting it as yellow 1 (Priller's mount from the Fall of '40) and discovered a kit that I really enjoy building.  Cockpit went together without a hitch, has been primed, painted, detailed and assembled.  Decided not to display the engine, although I built it up a bit anyway, but will have all the cowlings closed on this one.  Liked it so much I ordered another one!  Was on a roll two weekends ago and was able to get the everything closed up and the wings / tail planes assembled.  Only real problem area is the oil cooler / radiator under the nose, as my fuselage parts were a bit warped and i ended up with a bit of seam that is nasty there.  I am taking notes on this one for the next build as well.

Anyway, was able to prime, paint the yellow nose and rudder, and preshade last night, and was also able to get the bottom painted RLM 65.  WIll post pics tonight!
