A quick update on a rock wall I've been working on, it'll set as a backdrop to the rail lines. I made them using Woodland Scenic rubber molds and painted them with a base color of Scenic Stone Gray then a wash of flat black and drybrushing of a Milk Chocolate and regular White colors. I held them in place with hot glue and white caulking so I can see what I need to clean up later. 

This next photo shows the location of the wall behind the rail lines.

This stone wall is about 4-5 inches accross the top and ground covered to include a worn guard path to protect their new gun.

Damn, Terry! From the pictures they look real! Seriously, you could have said I dug these rocks up from my back yard, and I would have believed you! Outstanding job!

Bruce that really nice, a lot of trial and error to get everything right but yea I'm happy with them. Theyre about as realistic as I've seen using molds and the right paints. Still a lot of work left.

I'M a little slow lately but here my rock wall that's alomst complete. I still have to finish the top after laying down a think covering of artist clay. I'm ver pleased in how realistic its looking, getting there.

What an amazing job your doing Terry. It looks like a rock you took from your back yard. And the tracks, roadbed and vegetation, just beautiful. 

That base makes mine look as though my 8 year old grandson made it.

Lots of trial and error Steve. After all these years making kits, terrain and dio's are another ball game but they're fun and challenging. I need to make them a bit smaller.

Hey Terry your 'rocks' look perfect. I love the shading and various colours you've worked in there. And the bushes are the cherry on top.

BTW: I've almost finished my figures. My old cell phone died on me and now I'm trying to figure out the new one- hopefully I'll get some photos before too long. I did lay some plaster down on the base I'm using too. Nothing elaborate in my case though, just a simple base with some grass and snow patches.

Im trying to finish up my board before I work on the 7 or so figures and touch up the Morser. Heres a couple pretty raw picks but it shows most of the parts and layout.

I finally completed the Mortar diorama last night. I could keep adding more and more, but I have other things to do. I do need to put a label on it still, but that will take a minute.

Steve, I'm blown out by this. I'm nort sure what I expected but, something a little different I guess but this is really nicely done. One comment before I go on and believe me I'm not one to say much but the one guy in front facing away in the gray shirt has a big hole in his back, should be an easy fix. Wayne and I have spoken on this before that once the camera starts you start seeing things you've missed. I guess if you break it down, that stupid camera is smarter than we are.....

I think you've done a great job on the track and turn (out/in) I'm not sure the nomenclature, because that wasn't so easy and you worked it out perfectly. The figures are posed nicely and the vehicles look like a WWII photo. I know the camo net is something they did to cover their big gun, but on the other hand we don't get to see whats under it. My personal opinion the Morser is one of the coolest rail guns ever, such a large projectile and the detail and work necessary to TRY and put it on target, they were terrible on accuracy. 

Steve we're not here to "compare" builds because each is a work of art by themselves and you've done a fantastic job. How did you get the time, I know you were on some other work and theres only so much bench time to be had.

One to be proud of Steve and I know we have guys here thinking and praying for you, keep fighting my friend.

Thanks Terry that means a lot. Like you said, I didn't see the guy with the big hole in his back until I saw the picture. I didn't even see it with my optivisor. Dog gone Galaxy S-6 with its super doper camera!! Since this isn’t gowning anywhere except on my display shelf I not going to worry about it, just be aware the next time I work with 1/72 guys.

As far a juggling time? My wife would love to comment on this. I was working on three builds, all of which take an enormous amount of time themselves and finished two of them last night. This next year I won't join so many group builds so to feel like I'm under the gun. I have 3 group builds ending mid-2016 and 2 I am co-hosting. I really want to work leisurely on builds from now on (I really would like a submarine build though). I told my wife that I will be building to donate to museums from now on, starting with my new builds. I don't want her to be burdened with a bunch of models lying around that she has to get rid of once the time comes, hopefully several years from now, but you never know.
Once I finish the Fokker Tri Plane, which is almost complete, I’m starting on a 1/32 mustang for my Mustang build and a 1/48 Faiery Swordfish for the Fleet Air Arm GB, which will probably be donated to the Lexington Museum.

I have a lot of smaler detail to work on such as figures and such, but I took a few minutes to set in the Morser to get a perspective of the entire build. I removed the guard tower while I work on the electronics for the spotlight. Anyway heres a few photos with the Morser in place.

I love the little areas of intrest. You do such a great job Terry.

I think these things are what makes it work. Like not just putting up a camo net, but you have figures holding it up. They keep your interest.

I like how this little area turned out, hopefully I'll have more to show later.

The dio is looking great! All these little ares of interest are making the entire dio interesting! The barrels are fantastic! And I still can't get over how realistic those rocks look! Great job! Looking forward to seeing it complete

Guys thanks I'd like some nice photos for our GB when I'm done. Steve I know I took it a little far but what the heck, something for all of us to view and enjoy. It only happened because Steve started an artillery build and the Morser was questionable. I'm thankful we got ours in.

I had to stop myself from adding more and more. I had a motocycle I wanted to throw on but decided enough was enough LOL.
This GB still has 5mos, I will probably throw in that 1/144 K5.

Thats funny, I thought of adding a MC too. Steve I'm not sure how much time I'll have but I'm going to try and get one more in before time is up on this one. I've had an idea of rigging two German 88's on a flatbed railcar?
