Manik: Washes is how I get the majority of my weathering done now as far as giving your 223 a dusty look I would try a couple things myself i:e very thinned white and desert yellow paint on the surfaces,, Remember as I am sure you know dust gets every where,, even spots you didn't think it could. I have been in the military for 19 years and have seen the dust kicked up by vehicles and let me tell you, everything gets dusty so I wouldn't worry if you get the dusty look in places you wouldn't expect dust.

T3488g I am doing a M8 armoured car,, me personally I wouldn't see a problem with you doing a 8 rad. Just my opinion,, but then again I am not running the build so its not my decision.

Progress report. Will have pics up and then emailed of my finished 222. Aftermuch panic I found my instructions for my M8 and will begin the building process tonight. Hope all is well with the rest of your builds. From what I can see in some of the Pics I would say yes.

you could try spraying watered down glue on the areas that you want the then sprinkle it with sand . Havent tried it, in fact it just came off my head, so i would have absolutley no idea.

Sand dust that settled on the vehicle could be done with a wash or pastels.
Don't know about larger amounts of sand.

A little progress; added some mud, broke off the door, noticed that I didn't paint the inside of the wheels.
One step foreward...
Will try to get pics up this afternoon.

In a word, yes. I really enjoyed this little kit. Went together easy with no filler at all.
The only Caveat is the tires/wheels, in front there is a little slop where they mount to the trailing arms so care is neede to ensure they are straight. Not knowing exactly how much toe a Kubelwagen should have I posed both to the left as far as possible, It's only a couple degrees but it adds some "life". On the rear use care keeping the rear wheels vertical because the final drive is through reduction gears at the wheel so the wheel center is offset from the axle.
Considering the fit of the rest of the kit (excellent) I think the play in the front was intentional to allow some poseability (the steering gear/pivots would be real tiny and fragile)

An update with pics!
For those that have forgotten I was working on Tamiya's Kubelwagen. It needs weathering and I need to finish painting the fig. The weathering will be finished with the dio (which is almost done and includes a 250/9), the fig painting wil be done soon I hope - I don't have much skill in that arena.

The windshield also needs to be added.

Nice to see the progress on the other builds.

As always comments/critcizms welcome.

Well Gang just a quick update here on the VA front. The 222 is finished. As soon as I get everything I need for my Digital Camera I will upload Pics. The M8 is under the Gun. The paint gun that is.

Looking good JK.

Not much to report at this time. Have filled in the multitude of location holes, sink marks, etc on the little Daimler. With all the grey putty it looks part camo'd alreadySmile [:)]

Have scratch built the rear radiator vanes as they are moulded solid on the kit, have added internal nut/bolt detail, thinned the wheel guards to scale thicknes and added detail to side bins.

Next is the missing and incorrect internal detail. Leaving the biggie, the scratched suspension and steering components, to last.

for those of you looking foreward to my dio, Well, lets just say it'll be a good Christmas present. Its a 12" by 16" plaque that will have a tree, some bushes, and an overwhelming amount of Field grass. its gonna take awhile.

John, nice job!
I'm not there yet but here are some progress pictures of my Quad. Right now i'm in the process of adding the PE. Next I am going to scratch build the spare tire rack that goes on top of the vehicle then I'll be ready to paint. I've already painted the tires and frame but it still needs some work.

Manik,, I concur with Petbat. Most interiors were white in color. If you use tamiya's Buff color, it will give it that faded look instead of that fresh off the assembly line look.

I was just joking!!!! Being a bit silly about the flat wooden base; I didn't expect that the finished dio would be flat too.

Manik, to the best of my knowledge it was painted the same light buff colour as the interior of the tanks were (Tamiya Buff is about right). Gray is definately wrong, at least for the forward driver area, as it is too dark to see inside if it is gray.

If you go to http://afvinteriors.hobbyvista.com/222/222a.html you will see some colour pics of the inside of a restored 222 vehicle. Whilst Mike states that he cannot categorically confirm the layout of the equipment he doesn't mention whether the colour might be off.

Wow! That 251 looks awesome!

Can anyone tell me the interior colour of the 223, is it white or panzer grey?
