Peter:

Well, I have done some research & think I'll end up making a Ford rather than a Chev for the portee. So I'm gonna kit-bash & scratch some combo of the Tamiya Quad Gun Tractor, the Italeri 15-cwt, and the Revell QL to come up with an F-60L. The Quad gives me the basis for the cab, the 15-cwt gives me a basic frame & under-cart, and the QL gives me some portee specific rails & stuff. Anything else I'll cobble together as I go.

The Sov 2-pdr I have built before & so I am aware of the pitfalls, although I'll have to build it this time with different legs arrangement.

Are we there yet ??? Is it time ti start ???Big Smile [:D]Big Smile [:D]Big Smile [:D]Big Smile [:D]

Matt your in

John (Rebel) glad to have you with us, just let me know what you settle on

John (Jratz), seems like you are going to have a bigger spares box after this. As long as the vehicle is British Commonwealth designed and manufactured I think everyone will be interested to see the results of that build.

The CMP were of two styles, Ford or Chev, so it still a CMP I'm building.

Pete,

Just wanted to see if I could add a couple of kits for this:

1/72 Italeri Valentine Mk 1 (6th Armoured Division, July 1944)

1/72 Hasegawa Humber Mk2 Armoured Car

They will probably only take me around a week to complete...then use the rest of the time on my Forced Recon Universal Carrier....

Thanks!

yep, sure will. Since the only military backround in my family was my great grandpa who drove an ambulance in the Army during WWI, I am thinking maybe I should do more vehicles of that time. They also interest me becuase they were the worlds first tanks.

well, i also have a grandpa who fought in Korea, but he doesnt like to talk about it, and now I dont think he can remember it.

Ne ways, I had read some good reviews about the kit and a bad review about the 1/35 MK I male. Cant wait to start............. oh wait, yes i can, because december means school!!!!! AHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!Angry [:(!]

John / Rebel:

Have you seen this kit ??
( www.hobbyterra.com ) and check out the Interus Mark V tank.
I'm not into WW1 armor (yet), but a friend recommended it ...

Sorry guys, Have only had limited net time this past few weeks. I have updated your choices.

Matt - 3 kits for one GB - most of us take too long to build just one!

John. Whippet sounds very interesting. My LHS has some in stock, but they are pricey down here, hence he has had them for a long time. He also has Emhar 1/72nd scale Whippets, male and German A7V tanks as well as some Enhar WW1 British and German Artillery pieces and infantry. I may be tempted to acquire one of the 1/35 whippets if you think the kit builds okay. Looking forward to see what you think.

Here's a link to some detail pics of a Whippet which may be of interest to you:

Pete,

Just wondering if I could switch out the Universal Carrier for the Tamiya 1/35 British Ambulance Rover 7. Would make more of an interesting build I think... and for the three kits.... two of them are 1/72 scale....not too large. I did this one for a weekend (Fri-Sun) GB about a month ago:

The other two aren't very much of a challenge (both have modest N. Africa paint schemes) and are pretty small, and I want to put a lot of time into the ambulance (blood stains on the floor, etc).... I'll be able to make it...not showing off, just don't have much to do in my spare time. Big Smile [:D]

Matt,

I have been doing an old ESCI 1/72nd scale British Bishop SP for a 'quick' build. I was hoping to enter it into a competion next month. So far it has taken me 3 weeks to fill sink marks, fill gaps and refabricate detail lost as a restult of sanding. It was going to be OOB! Now you know why I build so slow. Will change your choice

I haven't been around at all the past couple weeks, so in case anyone's been wondering what happened to me, I just want to drop a line and let you know I'm still in.

Plus, I might soon have a camera, so I can post pictures!

And, perfect timing, the new FSM has an article on building resin kits! Smile [:)] This will be my first one, not counting converstion parts.

Well, I'll be getting three weeks off work after this week, so I wouldn't mind starting something modern, so naturally I thought of this.

That's a nice kit t3488g I did it for the small afv build and it went together nice although I used a few parts out of the ambulance version (another spare etc.) Plus I found a site someone told me about that has a ton of commando jeep photos. Ill try to find it again and pass it on to you.

T34. One Churchill for the Mad Allied day and one for this GB - don't see a problem at all.
