I haven't been able to do the camo on the Brummbar because of the COLD temps and still wanting to do a gray paint scheme I pulled this off the shelf and started the building process yesterday.

It looks like this kit is from 1995 and the quality shows it. Huge sprue gates, warped panels and lumpy surfaces on the parts. It's not a bad kit,it's very simple and not a lot of parts but boy is it rough. The PE set and Friuls should give it a little pizzazz.

Staying warm up here on the north side is the order of the day.                                                                           Tony LeeSmile

Excellent! Another Tony production to watch unfold!Big Smile I do believe you are correct about the PE and Friuls.  And then there is the magic you work with the kit.

Cheers

You're bumming out Tony. Just kidding. I don't expect this kit to be a run-in-the-park like a Tamiya shake-and-bake.

Do'nt sweat it Tony I'm sure you'll do just fine.On the other hand if you lift the lid off that baby most of a stug resin interior set should fit along with a resin sig 33 on a modified stug 7.5 cm. gun mount.Whistling

Hey Freak that's an idea but it would be nice to start with a kit that's not so bent out of shape as this one.

Hope it's not warped too badly Tony! Could've been a victim of being left on your porch pre-Christmas!

It is an older kit that can use some TLC, I'm sure you'll whip it into shape. Yes

This is a very cool kit, Tony--here's the link to the one I did--I used it as the basis for my "Indy Tracks" tutorial over at Armorama.

http://www.armorama.com/modules.php?op=modload&name=Sections&file=index&req=viewarticle&artid=1737

Friuls? Who needs those overpriced buggers? Whistling lol!

I added some details to mine at the rear, with the spare rack and whatnot. Looking forward to seeing what you do with yours!

Bill you say "whip" into shape it's more like BEAT. The lower hull strip that goes across above the mufflers was pushed in so bad it was almost broken into and so was the front casement plate. The rear casement plate was just warped into a lazy "U". Both left and right sides of the casement are concave and will need to be pulled out to be square with the finders. There is no comparison between the 1995 product and 2009 quality.

Don't be bad mouthing my Friuls Karl are you will be plagued with sour notes for eternity.Wink

Those Magic Tracks are my 401K account my friend.Smile

Wingy, I ain't got time to bleed, I mean breathe.Wink

Not a bad production day. I spent a lot of time looking for the aluminum barrel that I put away so I wouldn't loose it.Bang Head Being neat does have its disadvantages.Confused

I had to shave off a few kit details and mud flaps to make room for PE parts.

It's starting to take shape now.Smile                                                                                                                      Tony Lee

Enough of the cold already.Censored41f is normal and we got all the way up to 4f. Windchill 15 to 20 below.

But the war effort marches on. Tin bending was the order of the day. I don't know why the plastic bin was not replaced with PE but they did change out the support legs.Hmm

Hey Ma throw another log on the fire.                                                                                                                 Tony Lee

Tony looking forward to watching this one progressStick out tongue. A few of these were used around Stalingrad so a winter white washe would be something that you might want to consider over that gray base. Plus I hear that there's a Winter Warriors GB going on that a certain guy I know would love to have sign up forWhistling

Those PE boxes are really sweet and will go a long way in sprucing this kit up.

Looking good Tony, the additional PE really makes this one stand out. Yes

Even though Karl suggests that the large PE boxes should be banged up, I'm fairly sure they were actually wood and not metal. Wink

I read that to Bill but in the pictures they don't look like wood unless they were plywood. Surface is really smooth.

Wonder if anyone knows for sure?

Tony

Very nice....I have to say, with the spare road wheels on either side (eyes) the metal barrel (nose) all you need is a spare track accross the front (mouth)......I know, I have been watching way too many commercials

Where would we be without the spare parts box!!

Kinda using this #G7 as my inspiration.

Jumped all the way up to 34f today. It would have been a really nice day if it hadn't been for that super bright disk looking thing in the sky??????Cool

Hey Tony,

I was going to PM you to enquire as to the progress on the Brummbar!

This looks like another winner though-you say it's rough but a bit of 'Mutt Magic' should sort it!
