A majority of gundam weapons were designed from WWII weapons, the rocket launcher for the Zaku is the M1, the one for the Dom is the Panzershreck

Looks like a British Sten 9mm submachine gun used in WWII.

On a side note, I believe that the Imperial E-11 was also modellled after that particular firearm

Warmest regards,

Roger

The E-11 blaster rifle that the stormtroopers in star wars use.

EDIT- also to a lesser extent, the gunpod of the YF-19 from Macross Plus.

Some people spend their whole lives wondering if they made a difference. Gundams don't have that problem.

Oh sheesh, I thought we were just gonna keep going with the Gundam stuff since you guys kept on moving along with it.

To keep the majority here happy, which unit's head was used to replaced the damaged Zeta Gundam in early episodes of Double Zeta Gundam series?

Yeah, I did edit my post. I was just gonna answer it. But I'll let Archangel 571 take his shot. I now vow not to answer a Star Wars question right after I asked one. (Ok, not always...Whistling [:-^]) Go ahead, Archangel 571!

Boba- You got it with the Tie Advanced X1.  I loved all the cool tie fighters in the old tie fighter video game.  Never lost a ship (cause I cheated).

I think I got a bit confused with my remark after you wrote the answer, but I believe you edited your earlier post which is what I was replying to so I didn't get a chance to tell you you were right.

Smeagol- Good question man.

Tetsujin- Wow.  Just... wow.  (I mean that in a good way)

If at first you do succeed, try to hide your astonishment.

I fixed the rules on the front page of the thread. From now on, bold lettering for quetions.

And if you have not read the rules for the thread, please do so, so that we can avoid someone stepping on someone elses question time.

Thanks!

Yea boba's right.  We should bold letter the questions asked so there are less confusion.  Either way since I know mr bounty hunter already knows the answer but didn't want to say it, is the the TIE advanced (that old toy name at least)?

since none was asked, Ill ask one.  What was the 6th unit (in the tv, not novel or manga) to be classified as a gundam and what were the 5 preceding it.

I assume you're including OVA's as "TV" here? And talking about in the UC chronology, not real-world chronology...  And counting the Ez8 as a separate machine from the regular groundtype...  And counting all the groundtypes as a single "unit" even though there were like 24 of them...

If so, GP02.  (Gundam, Groundtype, Ez8, Alex, GP01, GP02)

If you consider the Ez8 to be the same as the groundtype then it's GP03.

If you consider each groundtype gundam to be a separate "unit" then it's one of the groundtypes.  :D

If you don't count OVA's (or you're talking about real-world chronology), then...  I guess it again depends on whether you count Rick Dias and Hyaku Shiki as Gundams.  (Gamma Gundam and Delta Gundam respectively - though those were development names which didn't stick...)  Sixth would be Zeta Gundam if you count only TV shows and consider those two to be Gundams.  (Gundam, Rick Dias, Mk.II, Hyaku Shiki, Psycho Gundam, Zeta Gundam)...  If you don't count Rick Dias and Hyaku Shiki then I guess it'd be ZZ...

I suppose.  But in your case anything I could ask is too easy.

You said it! I am a Star Wars NERD!!!!! I will try however to not answer everything on Star Wars.

Anyway, Vader's ship was the TIE Advanced X-1. It also had shields and a class 4 hyperdrive. As a piece of trivia, I think that the MPC/AMT model of it provided the wings for TIE Bombers in other movies. It has been around for quite some time.

Ok, since star wars is my best subject I'll stick with that theme.  In episode 4 What type of starfighter does Darth Vader fly during the Death Star battle?

Yes, you are correct. IG-88B to be exact from "Tales of the Bounty Hunters" by Kevin J. Anderson. Fett nailed him with a huge ion cannon then finished him off with concussion gernades. You can see his remains in the scene with Chewie fighting for C-3PO's remains in the trash room. His head was also a spigot in the cantina scene in episode 4. Your turn SkullGundam!

I believe it was IG-88.  He and Fett had a run in after that and according to the EU he ended up in control of the death star laser.  I think that's right but its been a while since I've seen them and read that book.

All right, here is my question. In Star Wars, The Empire Strikes Back, what two bounty hunters tracked Han Solo to Bespin aka Cloud City? Fett was the first but there was one who "lost" the bounty with Fett's help. This character has made three appearances. 2 in Empire, and 1 in A New Hope. It also has shown up in the expanded universe but this only applies to movies. Step up and cast your vote here!

(As a side note, OK. The robot was called "Robot" but was Designated a Model B-9, Class M-3 General Utility Non-Theorizing Environmental Control Robot. Sue me. Whistling [:-^])
