Hmmm, actually Puma, those weren't the ones I was refering to.  But I learned something.  I wasnt aware the Nebula class was mentioned to be MVAM capable. [seperates].  Since its been a few days, and most of the question has been answered, I'll yield the floor to another question.

By the way, the ones i was refering to were:

• Voyager class - had a second ship that seperated from the hull [Aeroshuttle].
  
• Nova Class- same thing [Waverider].  Just like the Prometheus, Galaxy, and Sovereign.  They all had secondary ships docked IN the hull, not just a shuttlebay.
• and lastly...Defiant class.  The forward section was a "Warhead" and would break away for a last ditch kamakazi assault.  It did have its own bridge and engines. 
  

Ok, here goes....

the missing ships are,

Nebula Class - Commander Riker is said to have done this prior to the first time he does it in TNG.

Enterprize Class- Its from a book I think.... anywho, it has a muli-vector assault mode like the promethius class.

Cheyeanne class- same general shape as the constitution class and has a different nacelle layout.

and a little bit of info on that there "Dreadnaught class", it is called Federation class...

Combined, you guys almost have it.  Remember, I said it didnt have to be SEEN ON SCREEN, but it could be mentioned or even in a tech manual or book.  It just had to be official.

So far you guys have:

• Constitution Class
• Dreadnaught Class
• Excelsior Class
• Ambassador Class
• Galaxy Class
• Sovereign Class
• Prometheus Class

I've seen a reference which stated that basically any starship class with a discrete saucer section should be able to separate.

The Constitution Class was designed so that the saucer could separate from the rest of the ship in an emergency. However, re-integration required shipyard facilities.

The Excelsior (Enterprise-B), Ambassador (Enterprise-C) and Sovereign (Enterprise-E) classes are said to be capable of saucer separation, but this has not been seen "on screen".

The Galaxy class (Enterprise-D) has been seen to separate in several episodes of TNG and in the movie "Generations". 

The Prometheus class, seen in one episode of Voyager, separates into three sections.  

The TOS enterprise never seperated in the show or the movies. in the search for spock she self-destructed, thats why you see half the sauser missing, it blew up.

Yes, the Galaxy class and, in STTOS, the Dreadnought class were capable of "separated flight mode"; both halves of the ship were capable of independent flight. There was an "emergency bridge" in the forward portion of the Engineering Section, identical to the main bridge in the saucer module. The Enterprise in TOS never actually separated, but I believe it did in one of the movies (don't remember which one).

Ok, this is a Trek one.  Which federation ships have the ability to seperate into multiple parts? [going from not just film, but also tech manuals and literature]
