I kinda found Hardware entertaining too. It was one of those really bad movies that you somehow can't turn off... but don't tell my friends I said so. Whistling [:-^]

I've picked up GSM every year since '98, love 'em. Getting this one too, just was hoping for some of my favorites, ya know?

Here's an easy one:

In "Army of Darkness", the hero Ash is instructed to say what phrase before handling the dreaded Necronomicon, and from what sci-fi movie does that phrase originate?

Very good. Yeah, Ministry I still catch myself humming "Stigmata" from time to time. I actually enjoyed the movie in a strange way. The biblical line they use in reference to the MARK 13 is "no flesh shall be spared." I am also a big fan of Judge Dredd (the British comic book, not the abbysmal Stallone movie) but it's hard to find here.

So on the Cosmic J.

PS There is some science fiction from every show in GSM except AMPS if I remeber correctly. Look for the superdetailed scratchbuilt escape pod from "Star Wars" in the IPMS/Nats coverage.

Movie was "Hardware".

Lemmy from Motorhead was in it, and the soundtrack had Ministry on it (was the first place I ever heard them, now I'm a fan...)

The hero was named Moses, and I think the robot's name was Mark 13, relating to a passage in the bible about the apocalypse or something...

The inspiration for the story came from a 2000 AD/Judge Dredd comic (I think).

In the early 1990s, it was also an inspiration for "The Hardware Award", an award me and my friends would bestow annually on the worst sci-fi movie of the year.

The Hardware Award's title was later changed to "The Highlander 2 Award".

"Highlander 2: The Sickening - There should have been only one..."

Hey Aaron, will there be any sci-fi in this year's Great Scale Modeling Annual?

Here goes:

In what 1990 movie does a combat robot lay waste to an artist's New York apartment? And what is the robot's bibically inspired designation?

I guess I was half a sleep when I read the answer so long ago, but our moderator was actualy right! there were only 2 made, the first was made for Aliens and then re-worked for Resurection. the same one was used as a reference for the queen in the first AvP movie.

as for my Avatar, its Daimos, a super robot from the late 70's. also one of my favorites.

how many full size Queen aliens were made in total between all of the alien/Alien Vs. Predator movies? (that does not include the stop motion puppets or the chest burster from Alien 3.)

and a little bonus.. What is the robot in my avatar?

If at first you do succeed, try to hide your astonishment.
