I have been finding hard to find time lately to visit the forum and it looks like this might continue into the early part of next year so I would like to at this time wish all those who regularly visit this thread a

As far as presents go i've bought myself $160:00 worth of diorama bits for my desert dio
including figures from Firestorm, Verlindens British Tank crewmen some palm tees and a well, to go with my Tamiya Matilda11 and Academy Stuart Honey and the Tamiya Africa Corps BMW bike and sidecar........

Mike - let me know what response you get?? I am keen on the 1/48 scale equivalent of that set, but can not find one for love nor money.

[Update:] Actually, it seems to me that there is a reasonable demand for the Aeromaster set. I will try and contact Ventura to see if they have any plans for an equivalent release.

I would just love to get hold of the whole set that Aeromaster released. Much better to have a variety of colours and markngs that are different from the usual American stuff. I think it's time to send an e-mail to Aeromaster as well asking about it, hopefully they may get enough expressions of interest to reprint it.

I just recieved the decals sheets from eagle strike (aeromaster) . 3 sheets full of decals they look awesome and the booklet is in colour , there was a note on the invoice advising me that eagle strike productions will be redoing the 1/48 scale next year , but they will be doing them as a regular decal sheet . they would not be doing them in the same format ..bugger.. Censored [censored]

cossack - check the decal thread out , rjkplasticmod has the 1/48 decal sheets you want..

The Ventura list I have lists set number V4864 as being "New Zealand, Australian, and American P40's" and V4868 as "Australian P40's and............". God only knows how you'd actually get hold of them though!!!

My name is Andrew (a.k.a. celestialsphere) and I joined the forum last year.

The honourable j.s.harrison suggested I introduce myself to my fellow Aussies.

I live in Perth but will be moving to Melbourne in late January 2005. Can anyone suggest some good model shops and clubs?

I visited the Eastern Suburbs Modelling Club last year and they seem like a nice bunch of people. So there's a start!

I finish about a model a year at the moment. Mainly aircraft in 1/72nd and my current interest, 1/144th. The last one I finished was the Revell 1/144th Gulf War Westland Puma helicopter. I've also built at few 1/24th cars, always modified, of course, and some small scale military. Everything small. I also enjoy model railways, in N scale... (No wonder I wear glasses!)

Anyway, Nice to join you all. Have a Great Silly Season!

WRT to RNZAF decals, I am gradually tracking down a range of OOB decals for RNZAF aircraft ... only facing a few holes now ;)

Unfortunalty it will not be a happy new year for thousands of people who have been affected by the recent Tsunami's Sad [:(]

After watching footage on the news channel the Wife and I went to the NAB and made a donation of $50:00, not much but i hope it helps........

Tweets i'm glad you liked the pics, i remembered from my childhood the Jeckyll and hyde cartoon where Tweety drinks the potion and changes into hyde and gives ol sylvester a good caneing, so i had to do a search on the net looking for a pic of the Hyde tweety just for you........
It didn't take long www.google.com is a powerfull search engine which comes in handy when looking for reference material Thumbs Up [tup]

Thoses tweety pics are a crack up . I went the the LHS the other day and I managed to burn a hole in my wallet half and hour later I spend $230.00 bugger me I'll have to pull my horns in for the next month or so..

I'm a keen modeller, but aint no way I plan to do anything in 1/72, unless it's a minimum of 6 inches in length. (no wise cracks guys!)

Well, seeing we're on 1/72 P51's in progress...
This is still a bit rough & I can't finish the canopy, broken wheel & weathering until I get this arm out of the sling. I madly rushed things before my surgery to try & finish it & ended up breaking the windshield & mucking up some others.

It will be my last 1/72 (apart from am F-100D on the shelf), definitely going upscale from here. Current 1/48's on the shelf include the Eduard Mirage (just starting), Tamiya Harrier FRS1, Dragon Fokker D.VIII, the High Planes BAE Hawk 127 (for the Oz GB) and a Hasegawa 109 G-10 (with tons of PE & assorted goodies). I've really got to stop buying these things, just too tempting though.

Mike, if you have a spare windshield it'd be great, my canopy is fine, I just split the windshield right down the middle.

Bandha Boy what type of kit is it ? . I do have a spare P51D mustang windscreen from a hasegawa kit that crash and burned , I hope this will help..

I just found this History Channel shop which has loads of DVDs on aircraft, tanks, ships, battles etc. Some are a bit pricey as they're just one 50' show, but some rare footage can be found. Go down to the 'Wars & Warfare' or 'History' sections.

Some have been aired so for those without Foxtel I can recommend some of them if you let me know which ones. (eg the A-10, P-47, Lancaster, Hellcat ones are excellent. The Cobra & Apache chopper docos are also very good.)

There's a current series on called 'Air Combat' which has some outstanding footage which isn't listed for some reason. The commentary is appalling, the usual US myopic revisionism, but some terrific footage. (Some New Guinea & African stuff featuring diggers with slouch hats but no mention of Aus involvement.)
