I picked up a few that have recently arrived. Others still on the way. Couldn't pass up 55% off on the Panther and $19 on the Panzer. Been wanting the Enterprise for some time now, finally pulled the trigger. I'm gonna light it and make the radars rotate as well and scratch the hanger bay up. Looking forward to a long build here. The Rex was an idea from one of you who did a kit with their grandson. This thing is solid resin, not hollow and weighs a ton. The decals and whatnot are for a 1/24 BF-109E a dear friend gifted me. This will be a massive bird. Looking forward to building it as well.

Well here's quick taster keavdog (John) in the sun today. The end onne on the left is a 1/43rd Heller kit.

I printed some of the decals, Ken Block, 7Up and Monster Energy, plus a few coloured splashes.

Yes OK I've bought another one. That must be number 7 or 8 in various colours and various decals! All because the rally cars were built by Prodrive about 20 miles away!

Two things that normally do not attract me, but in these two instances had me spring for them. First was a 1:18 older Ertl die cast of a 1971 Camaro Baldwin Motion Edition. It did not come with a box, but it had the right trim, color, options, etc. My goal is to totally tear it apart then reassemble it with detail (BMF window trim, full plumbing, reworked interior, chassis, and engine, tire and wheel details, etc.). The price was to hard to pass it up at $12.00.

Image

This one is close to anyone who has followed and like the Star Wars saga. I was walking around a chain store called Hobby Lobby and wandered into the clearance section to find a 1/12 model figure of the bounty hunter Boba Fett. It was one of only a couple Bandai items in the clearance area. So it was marked down 35% and then they had a flash sale in the model area of another 40% off. This means I got the very detailed figure at a cost of only $10.00 instead of $39.99.

Image

He will look good along with his partner, the Mandalorian (also got at a huge discount on him earlier this year)

Image

While not epic, they are great deals for me that will allow me to branch out from my normal type of builds.

You just have to love arriving home to find that several of your individual orders have all arrived at once. And not just from the US but, also from China and Poland. What a glorious porch full of splendor!

First from a vendor from China on ebay. I've been drooling to nab one of these 1/72 Flyhawk Dauntlesses. Upon opening the box it does indeed appear to be one outstanding kit. Since I was ordering the Dauntless figured I'd enhance the order with a righteously extensive AM set for my 1/700 Alaska.

From Poland I got the Arma Hobby Fokker E.V. The Reppu is a sweet FB auction win.

A few choice enhancements from Roy over at Barracuda.

Finally, this absolutely outstanding book that is a must for any Corsair nut such as myself. Extensive analysis and photos to satisfy the most ardent Corsair detailer.

It was good day indeed.

Definitely enjoying some of the new additions you all have been bringing home.

John: You certainly have been a busy little beaver with the stash amassing. Can't help but to be lovin' on your new Tamiya Corsair. Just a wonderful kit. The OH-13 is a nice addition. also that Xingu II is a cool kit. You are doing honorable work my friend.

PFJN2: Yo Bro! That there is one fancy haul you got there. I really like the 3 Revell ships you got.

Stik: Happy to see you acquire the Grenadiers. Very nice gift indeed.

Pat: Those are 2 very sweet kits you picked up. Not overly familiar with manufacturers but, they are choice subjects nonetheless.

Try contacting me at gfowler2012 at yahoo dot com (interpret that).  It won't appear as that name.  Nom de plume, naturally.  Wink

Hey GAF, I'm interested in the PE set. Since the PM system here is kaput, I'm not sure how to exchange  information for shipping.

Gamera, no diorama planned with the Redcoat & Colonials. But I will display them together once built.

I've ended up with another item included in a recent purchase for which I have no use.  It's an Eduard PE detail set for a Revell 1/32nd FW-190D.  I'm sure it would work for other kits, but I have no 1/32nd kits in my stash, and no interest in acquiring any.  So if someone wants this, just express an interest and I'll get it in the mail forthwith.  Luckily, it shouldn't cost to much to mail!

SP: Congrads on the Redcoats! Are you going to do a dio with them and the Rebels?

Pat: Those are friggin' cool! Love the Gee Bee, in 1/72nd I'd think it'd be about the size of a large hornet!

John: Those are awesome! The bike is cool and you'll love the Corsair, one of the best kits ever. And the submersible is really interesting.

Steve: Best 'o luck with the move!

Ya, we're just starting to think about moving to AZ... I hate moving and hate moving models (built ones) even more!

Nice stuff JOhn.

The movers came today to pick up my stuff. I put all my stash and completed builds into totes. One guy keep saying "you got a lot of boxes" I told him my boxes are few compaired to a lot of us. Big Smile

The price for the move isn't funny though. Man, prices have gone up!

Thanks - it's Tamiya's latest.  I'm currently doing their 1984 boxing of Kenny Roberts' YZR500 and the kit shows it's age!  I'm spoiled by the newer bikes.  Slugging away on it in the 80s group build if you want to look.

Thanks,

Cool subjects Pat.  That little GeeBee will test your painting skills!

Ordered these in early April from ebay seller jazhobby (RCJAZ).  He's in China and has awesome prices and discounts shipping for multiple orders.  And these showed up way earlier than I thought they would - they got here in two weeks.

Tamiya's latest bike and detail up set:  2020 MotoGP winner Joan Mir's Suzuki GSX-RR

I've been wanting to pickup this Tamiya Corsair and at < $17 I could pass it up

And this was just too interesting - got to love Hasegawa

Landed today. Two 1/72 scale kits both just £5 each.

Look at the difference in sizes!

The Gee Bee is 2 3/4" long and the Beriev 12 1/2" long!

Wpwar, those are some great fast movers acquisitions! Looks like you have some great projects ahead.

John, you have picked up a couple of nice aircraft as well! That H-13 should be a nice continuation of your Coast Guard birds.

Pat... holy cow! Did you leave anything for anybody else...? Wink Man that is a major haul!

As for my latest, it's not big in size, but it is quite a score in my mind. This came in the mail today. Courtesy of the same generous soul on Armorama.  Now I have the proper opponent to square off with the Continental Soldier figure that I received a bit over a week ago.

Hi,

It took my awhile, but I finally tracked it down to being a Revell (or Advent Rebox).  At first I thought all the Revell kits had an interior, but I saw on Scalemates that they initially did a version with no interior.  Smile

Thanks for all your help in identifying it.

Oh right.  The DC-10 engine is in the fin while the L1011 intake is but the exahust is in the tail.  The windows through me for a bit.

Man - do that in old school Delta livery

The shape of the tail is the tell...it is an L-1011. The lead and trail edges are groomed to the lines of the fuselage  where the DC-10 is more angular. Nice haul the same.

I'm with you John,

L-1011

Hi,

Thanks.  I think you all are right it does look like an L-1011.  I always get the DC-10 and L-1011 mixed up but this one appears to have the exhaust at the rear of the fuselage (instead of above the fuselage) so I think that makes it a Lockheed Stick out tongue

What a haul Pat!   Airliner might be an L1011. Looks like an engine in the tail

Edit:  I think it's a dc-10

Today was the Northern Virginia Modelers - Model Classic get together, and I kind of went a bit overboard in picking up some stuff.

Want List

These first two were on my "Want List" for awhile, and although each had been previously started, they both appear to be in good condition, so I am very happy.

These next three were kind of impulse buys.

Impulse

The Scammell and Mark VIc tanks were kits that I have been interested in, but had previously put off on because of price.  So, since they were reasonably priced at the show (and I didn't have to pay any shipping and handling like I would have if I had bought them online) so I picked them up.  And the Universal Carrier seemd like a nice addition for my WWII collection so I addedit too.

Nice Additions

The next group are all 1/72 scale helos or aircraft that kind of just caught my eye.

Misc

And this last one, I'm not really sure what plane it is, but it was so cheap and looked like it could either be a nice kit to either just mess around and practice on or maybe even do a little kitbashing with.

Nice looking bird Joe.

Wpwar - nice score.  I have one GWH kit as well (Devastator) so looking forward to your comments

Picked this up on ebay.  I built the British AH.1 Sioux version for Bish's brit build a couple years ago it's a pretty nice little kit.  This will make a nice addition to the H-19 I did in coast guard markings...hmmm do I see a theme here  :hmm:

looking in the stash I discovered I also have that GWH Devastator.  Is it possible to have to large a stash?
