Nice looking bird Joe.

Wpwar - nice score.  I have one GWH kit as well (Devastator) so looking forward to your comments

Picked this up on ebay.  I built the British AH.1 Sioux version for Bish's brit build a couple years ago it's a pretty nice little kit.  This will make a nice addition to the H-19 I did in coast guard markings...hmmm do I see a theme here  :hmm:

Thanks,

John

Joe: Great score, the Ki-83 was indeed a beautiful aircraft. Of course if it were German it would have been kitted about a dozen times by now. No I'm not bitter. Well, maybe a little...

WpWar: OH WOW! Great scores there. Look like some awesome kits. I've got the Great Wall P-61 but I can't seem to find the time to start on her. Best o' luck!!!

Three latest models.  Picked up the Meng at LHS.  The F15 will be my first stab at a GWH  kit.

Good lookin' score Joe. I had an old MPM Arado 196 float plane once and it had ALOT of flash. Was just curious to see if MPM had cleaned up their kits any these days.

Real G

Joe,

The Ki-83 is a handsome looking aircraft!  I am surprised no one has done a new tool kit of it.  Is the kit the one with the resin bits?

It is indeed a sharp looking aircraft. Unfortunately it does not come with any resin or PE extras.

Thanks guys.

Joe, that Ki-83 looks sweet! I never knew of the type before. Reminds me of the F7F Tigercat.

Gamera, yeah, that is a bit funny that Airfix produced a Colonial Rebel, but they also made a 1776 British Grenadier as well. I am working on acquiring one of those as well. Airfix tended to make 54mm figures in opposing pairs in that product line. And yes, the Continental soldier figure is the same one that I built back in '76.

Stik, Glad to see you nabbed yourself the long sought after Sherman. Should be a sharp build with those nice figures. The Revolutionary figures are sweet. A very nice gift indeed.

I recently scored this cool subject on a FB auction win. Pretty excited to get a kit of this Japanese late aircraft.

Bill: Cool, nice job on disassembling the kit!

SP: Love those! Looking forward to seeing you get the Sherman and tank crew built. And those Minutemen are awesome. Are that the same figure set you painted back then or a simular set? And interesting that it's Airfix, as a British company they'd be 'bad guys'. Stick out tongue

Nice batch of figures there Robert. I'll have to keep an eye out for when you post them.

Bill, hopefully the previous builder, did a good enough job build wise on what you are not tearing apart.

So I guess that I’ve been lagging on adding my latest acquisitions for a bit on here.

First up, I picked this up for a guy on Armorama who was selling it for a good price. I’ve been wanting a Sherman III DV for a LONG time!

Then for crew, I picked up this Masterbox set. The two in desert uniforms will work just fine. The other Brit tankers are from the Tamiya Crusader that was being sold as a separate sprue.

and lastly, a generous soul on Armorama gifted me these two Revolutionary War figures, after I mentioned on a thread of having built one long ago during the bicentennial and would like to have another  go at one, now that I can paint figures halfway decently. Many thanks for the two!

That looks to be a rather fun project GM. Cool score.

Mostly completed model, but the original modeler must have been a armor guy as nothing was painted before assembly.

Got it taken apart down to the engine core, which is pretty much one color.

Ordered new decals, red paint, harness.

I like challenges.

Oh those are awesome Robert!!! Love figures and busts!

And yeah I think a lot of such stuff are garage kits, limited run, if you want it you better buy it now.

Those are really impressive and unique. Should be quite enjoyable to paint.

I have been out of control lately:

Also picked up two garage kit busts as well, but they are just wrapped in bubble wrap so don't show much.  One is a dwarf with a huge ax, and the other a pig dressed like a fighter pilot.

Unfortunately I learned that if there is a resin bust I want that is in stock, it must be basically bought then and there otherwise good luck finding it again at a reasonable price.

Aggie & Gamera, great scores! I do hope that 1/24 Hellcat offers a wings folded option for the build to save on shelf display space Wink

The wing fold option is there.  But, think of me as Clark Griswold.  It's not going on a shelf, it's going on my wall*.Big Smile

Any Accurate Miniature kit nabbed is a bonus. Any Accurate Miniature kit scored at that price is downright awesome. Well done Gamera.

Kudos Aggieman on finally adding the Hellcat. I am certain that that beast will bring you many happy hours at the bench. Although one of my favorite aircraft, I unfortunately simply do not have the space for that large example.

I built that Strat a few years back. Nice kit but lacking in any interior detail. Makes an impressive display.

Bought the hellcat shortly after it came out.  Going to let a couple people here decide what happens to it.

My latest acquisitions:

This would be one of those that I'd put on a "Most Wanted" list for 1/48, but even in 1/72, it looks pretty big.

And speaking of big ...

My favorite USN warbird, when I saw this released, I knew I'd eventually pick it up.  Now where am I going to (a) stash it until it finds its way to the workbench and (b) display it once completed?  I have the Airfix 24th Typhoon, but (b) has kept it from getting to the bench.  The 24th Mosquito was the first 24th scale kit I ever did, and while that one was a bear to build (in terms of way too many parts and way too long on the bench), it graces a wall nowadays and looks fantastic.

Dunno if she's adorable but it was affordable. Picked up this Yak-1 in a club raffle for twelve smackers. Always loved Accurate Miniatures kits- would have been happy to pay about three times as much but twelve bucks suits me fine.

Joe,

That's quite a haul!  Yep, that Arma Hobby Ki-84 kit will be the bee's knees.  I had a look at a friend's P-51B/C from the same manufacturer, and from the looks of it, Arma Hobby is gunning for Eduard level quality and detail.

It is a good time to be a 1/72 airplane modeler!

Wow Joe what a haul!  Quite the Frank collection.  Really like the BRE 240Z.  I snagged the 510 kit last year.  The c.200 is nice as well.  I have a recent facination with Italian aircraft.  Join the Formula 1 GB with that Benetton B188

BTW I didn't know much about the Frank.  Did some reading it seems it was the best Japanese fighter in WWII.  A real hotrod.

Thanks John. I wouldn't mind getting the 510 also. You are correct concerning the Frank. I was just reading how it suffered from issues with the Homare engine over heating in it's cylinders at high speed. They found that those issues were resolved with the use of high octane fuel. Unfortunately for the IJAAF, that fuel was in very short supply. This was validated by Americans after the war with captured Franks. They found that with high octane fuel the Frank was a very excellent performing aircraft.

Steve: Yeah, I figured all these Ki-84's would get your attention. LOL! Like I mentioned, I am hugely excited for the Arma Hobby Frank.

Cliff: Thank You. I right fancy Italian aircraft myself.

Yeah wow Joe!

Love the Ki-84, it was probably the best Imperial Army fighter of the war.

The Macchi C.200 is awesome too. I love Italian aircraft.
