About time I update my stash activities over the past few weeks. Definitely added some sweet styrene goodness to my shelves of dreams.

Got mine. Arrived last Monday. Upon inspection I am taken aback by this impressive kit.

I finally acquired a kit that I have wanted since it's release. At the time, it was beyond my finances. It was now high time I added this beaut:

I've also added these choice selections:

Bish

A few years ago i bought the Revell 72nd Type IX U-Boat, the U-505 kit. But my intention had been to back date it and build it as the U-156. Unfortunatly the sets i had hope for never came out. So when Revell announced earlier this year that they were bringing out an early version of the Type IX, i was well pleased. But i had to decide whether to keep the other kit. After a few months trying to make my mind up, i figured that 2 72nd U-Boats was plenty, so i sold the U-505 on e-bay, geting more than i paid for it and as it turned out a little more than the new kit would cost me.

I got my hands on the kit today, it was only released last week. I already have the decal for the U-156, but it will be some time before i build it, the Type VII will be first. But at least i have it.

That U-boat is sweet Bish. What a wonderful snag for you. I've always wanted to get the 1/72 Gato or one of the U-Boats but, I have no where to display it. Question for you, why U-156?

Gamera

Joe: I did a marathon airbrushing session (about four hours or so) two weeks ago it the new airbrush worked really well. A few short sessions here and there and I'm really happy with it so far.

Very glad to hear that you are happily back in business.

It's been nigh on a month since I've checked in to see what you all have been accumulating and, wow, I am duly impressed.

Steve: That is an incredible haul of boats you got. Especially nice score on the Hood.

Gamera: That Turtle ship is awesome. Also, nice new airbrush. How's it working out? I'm a Badger man myself but, always like to see how other mosels perform.

Bish: Glad to see you got your hands on the new Buccaneer. Look forward to your build up on that one.

Real G: You've been doing right well. Nice collection of Wingnut kits. Also, that how to book on tissue paper insects is really cool and unique. Br interested how you do on some of those.

To everyone else, bravo on the ongoing fabulous additions. Great stuff here folks. Always giving me new ideas.

Cheers! Joe

John: That's really cool. I've got to pick-up of those one day. I don't really like auto modeling since most of the time they're expected to be shiny and clean. I think I could go to town weathering and dirtying up an old farm tractor. Wish I had some photos of my grandpa's old machine...

Tankboy: I hope you post photos when you finish her.

TJ: Nice haul there. And congrads on getting to meet Bobby and Ikar!

I just got the new Takom 1/35 Jagdpanther G1 with zimmerit and full interior, lots o' parts.  I've been sort of addicted to the Jagdpanther since I first saw it on the art work of  it in 1970 or so in the game Panzerblitz.  So far I've built all the kits of them, Tamiya, (first edition),  Nichimo, Italeri, Dragon, early and late, even a few 1/72 and 1/48 scale ones.  I've also have the "hi-tec" version.  One vehicle I don't get bored with.  Very wierd.  I still have to get the G2 version they have done, and the Meng version.  Good greif! Hold still my budget and my building time.

Chad: Yeah, I don't think many have heard of them outside Korea. I'm just into anything weird, bizarre, or unexpected.

GH: It is a big model in 1/65th scale- about 60cm/2ft. long and 46cm/1.5ft. tall. There's a number of smaller kits out there but I really wasn't impressed by their lack of detail, they looked more toy-like to me than this huge one.

picked this up at hobby Lobby.   not my usual thing at all,  but it's kinda cute.  there were 2 tractors at our yearly show last year so when I saw this I couldn't resist.  Looks like there is a lot to learn about weatheing a farm vehicle!

Thanks guys!

Dunno when I'm going to start on her. I might jump the gun before you get the Anybody Ship GB up and running. I'll have to see, I really do want to get the LCT done for your GB first and I owe Bish a Han Solo for his Star Wars GB too.

That looks interesting G, going to be fun seeing that built.

I just had to google it,and apparently the Dragon head could also have a canon placed inside and was used to emit poisonous smoke. Nice.

Again cool stuff guys! Love that crossbow John!

Anyway I picked this up off Ebay. I wanted a Korean Turtle Ship for sometime and a lady in Pennsylvania had this at a really good price. And Steve/Modelcrazy you got me on this ship kick so it's all your fault! Stick out tongue

Box opened:

Real fabric sails, pre-sewn!

Wooden parts laser cut. Sorry I didn't want to pull them out of the bag:

Metal dragon head for the prow. The real thing was said to shoot Greek fire:

Metal parts for the cannon etc:

Metal plates for the armoured 'turtle-back' deck:

I'm definitely following that B-29 build.  I'd like to convert mine to the RAF Washington bomber but we'll see.   What's not pictured is the Monogram B-58 Hustler which I'm pretty stoked about having.

Mopar Madness

Here's a bevy of heavies I recently acquired.

That's a nice haul, Chad.

I'm currently doing that B-29 as well as an original edition B-29 (one will be a conventional bomber, and the other the Enola Gay).  I did the B-36 and B-1 over the last decade, and yes, they take up a lot of space.  I have 1 each, with no plans to ever do another one.  When I finish these B-29s, they will take up most of what space I have available.  My heavies all hang in my garage workshop, and I am just about done filling that "airspace" out.

Nice Stik!  I think if I dabble in armor again I'll go with something like that.   I found painting road wheels tedious.

And now for something completely different!  The cat shall not rest:

Thanks,

John

TB, those early model Harriers are hard to find nowadays, no matter what the scale. What a shame for such a pioneering aircraft.

as for me, well....

Forgive me father for I have sinned... well maybe not sinned, but I did succumb to temptation. At a visit to my LHS I found this goody on the clearance table. Been wanting one of these since the kit came out. Patience, opportunity, and a bit of spare cash all came together...

Hoo Haa;

This is old but still going I see. I just recently picked up Revell of Germany's Snap Fit kit of the 1/100 Harrier. How about this? it is pre-painted BUT I had to glue it together to get the main Wing unit and armaments to stay on. As well as the nose.

Years ago I had a 1/144 version of the " A " model, Fully armed up too. My wife said it looked like a large " Mad Mosquito" looking for someone to bite. So after all these years I tried to find another. No Luck.I settled for this one.
