John, just a guess but that would be the extra dark sea grey which was standard on RN aircarft of that period. I use Xtracolor, Airfix kits recomend Humbrol 123. Not sure about other paint ranges.

Pinched this on ebay just before Christmas ;)

Help with the colors here.  I've got the rescue yellow but the blue/grey lower I'm not sure on.

Thanks,

John

I ordered this for my birthday and it came in today.

Now that is one sweet score Steve. As I recall, this design was loaded to the hilt with torpedo launchers and fast to boot. I've looked at possibly acquiring the newer Tamiya 1/700 kit of this lethal boat.

Yes, it was a one off. First and last of it's class. Like you said loaded to the gills with torp launchers good guns and 47 kts flank

With the email notifications out for now I've missed out on some action here recently. Certainly some nice gets going on.

Steve5: Wonderful haul of boats there. I used to have the Prince of Wales for several years and then ended up trading it to someone who really wanted one. I really to get a new one as it was a kit I truly wanted to build.

I've only recently added this one kit. It's sure to please Bish, as well as myself. I've got masks, resin exhausts and metal Flak 18 barrels on the way for it.

Thats a nice kit, better than their 32nd one in fact. I built it as the last part of my Hans Rudel build, i had some Aires resin guns which came with the kit so i didn't bother with metal barrels. You should enjoy that.

I did the white wash over mine.

I am a Norfolk man and i glory in being so

SP: And guess I'm a little late, should check this more often but love those tank crew figures. I'm going to have to pick up some of those for myself.

Picked this up at Goodwill for $4  they had only glued a couple of things together, everything is there. It's 1/72,  I will need to get new resin ejection seats though.

No sir, but I bet I could use one! Any chance for a U-boat GB in the future?Smile

Oops, I was suposed to bring it this last time Embarrassed. I'll bring them in March. GH is right, you could list it in the German Ships GB in 10 months (wow, only 10 months away?!) and start on it anytime after.

I've been eyeing this kit for a couple of years now.  Just ordered it from Hobbycraft.  At 50% off and free international shipping, I couldn't pass it up!

Yeah, doesn't take up as much shelf as the same scale Gato.....You would still have enough room to put a 1/144 ME Komet alongside her.

Nice project.

I got an Eduard P-51D-5 right after they were released, followed by  a Tamiya P-38, and today my Kitty Hawk FJ-2 Fury should be here. One of the three will be next, after I finish the ZM 1/48 F-4J that's in the paint shop. The P-51 and P-38 are beautiful kits as everyone has said. I'm really looking forward to seeing the Fury. I've heard good things about it, and I've wanted a good 1/48 Fury for a very long time.
