Nice looking Jug owl, never saw a Revell 1/72 one.  BTW, the cars in the background look a little newer than 1945. Wink

Nice 38. When I first started modelling again I bought a Revell Lightning and it didn't work for me. It is now by primary test bed for odd paint jobs. But obviously it can be done.

A model boat is much cheaper than a real one and won't sink with you in it.

Some of the details are not up to current standards, but the models still were fun to build and make attractive pieces.  Here is one of my RM builds:

Completed:  1/48 Tamiya P-51D Mustang - 'Show Bird', 1/32 Dragon P-51D  Flying Tigers 'What if'; 1/32 Tamiya P-51D Big Beautiful Doll

Group build:1/48 Tamiya Mustang III; 1/48 Tamiya P-51D Show Bird

That is a nice build, CN. I also read somewhere that their 1/48 P-51 D is actually a pretty respectable kit for the money. I hope that someday I can get my kit to turn out that well. Thanks for taking the time to post it.                                         Bob

CNicoll, Nice Mustang! In a few weeks I plan on starting my P-51D as the Big Beautiful Doll. Do you know of any commerical masks that fit that canopy?

On the Bench:

Revell 1/96 USS Constitution - rigging

Revell 1/48 B-1B Lancer Prep and research

Trumpeter 1/350 USS Hornet CV-8 Prep and research

A couple of builds from recent times.  The kits are great.  If a part of the kit needs a little extra to bring up the quality, well then aftermarket, "gizmology", scratchbuilding, or kit bashing are all legal.  The B-25 is straight from the box.  The Mustang got a Tamiya canopy fitted to its frame and  True Details wheels, cockpit,  and aftermarket decals.

The Mustang and  '25 look really good. I'm curious as to weather or not you added some nose weight, and where ( if you did ). Thanks for taking the time to post them.                    Bob

I like it a lot. That's another one of those kits that  I have. With the pine trees in the background it almost looks like it belongs there.

the kit went together wonderfully. no sanding or filler needed. Highly recommended for those looking for a decompression build

Bob,  You can barely see it, but there is a stand from an old Revell B-25 just under the national insignia.  I wasn't brave enough to weigh this one down.  I'm a little  better at that these days.  Thanks, Rick

Roger that Rick. The decals set it off nicely. The NMF finishes with big and colorful nose art seem to work well together.                        Bob
