Pzl wanna put me down for a 148 Hase G-14 and G-2? I'm on a 109 streak here. The G-14 will be in Bellagambi's mount Yellow 1-

The G-2 will be Graf's mount.

Fermis nice pair of emils. I hate when something goes wrong and puts the build on hold.

Tom Great start, how about a frontal shot of that bad boy!

Thanks. Here's a frontal shot. I coulda very carefully hollowed it out, but nahh. I like it because it's got a bit better detail than stock. It's from Eagle editions. I think you'll like building a G-14.

Oh sweet Tom! Eagle editions makes some nice resin stuff. I'm using their props and spinners too on my builds. I know i'll love building a G-14, but I had a hard enough time choosing between schemes. It helped cause this Hasegawa boxing includeds Aeromaster decals. Good luck with the whitewash.

Here's some progress. G-2 has the rudder cut and positioned. the -14s getting a resin pit and the G-2 will get an Eduard PE set. 3 sets of Gear legs finished up with brake lines and clamps from wire and foil.

Do you need decals to do Yellow 1? My Academy Kit had this bird as one of the decal options but I didn't use that scheme. Happy to share if you want / need any . PM me if interested.

Nice brake lines!

I got a spinner from Eagle Editions as well. So much nicer than stock. I didn't see props for the 1/32 though. There's also some good new AM at ultracast. Seat belts, etc.

The G-6, with Mickey Mouse and whitewash is down the road, though not too far, the more I look at the scheme! I was looking at the trumpeter G-6, which is cheaper than the Hassie. Decisions..

Speaking of, there have been some discussions about stashes. People unable to pick which kit to build, etc. Man, the 109 makes it hard to pick which scheme! There are just so many nice ones out there. I like that one..oh wait..that one...wow...no this one... Then there's the varying 109 models themselves. Just a cool plane! Anyway, long overdue to finally get some of them together.

Nice job Trey and Handi. Trey how did your cowl panels close up on top? On my G-2 it left a small gap at the top hinge. I had to shim it with plastic strip, no big deal, it they fit nice everywhere else.

Can't wait to see those two birds when they are done! Cool  Herman and I have been moving forward,,, a word of caution to anyone who might use the Brassin DB engine,,  it takes a bit of dremmel work to make it fit correctly,, kind of a shocker that Eduard's AM kit doesn't fit they're own box kit,,, oh wellConfused

                                        Thanks for lookin!   Smile

I Heart paint!!!

Baltazars first. Wing camo was masked with poster-tac, and given a semi-soft curved edge(as shown on instructions.....the pattern is pretty close to the standard, straight edged camo), fuse camo was done freehand.

Wicks, standard splinter pattern.

For the mottling, I cut up some packaging foam, made a puddle of paint, dip-n-dab!

Nathan thanks. the cowl fit was good

Handiabled the mill looks great mounted up,looks like you did great in spite of the fit issue!

Fermis great looking mottle!

I made some progress with the fuse and decided to go gear up and hang this one 'in flight' just needed some shims on the gear doors. Does anyone have any info on the tail color of Gallands mount,I'm finding conflicting info on the rudder. I found some show it as yellow and others not, thanks in advance cheers Trey

also note the 'seam' on the top is'nt visible in this pic

Manstein's revenge

I guess ya'll ran Fermis off with your comments on his seat...Huh?

Whisper Pssttt, Manny.. I never commented on his seat... I was commenting on the Tamiya Emil-seat and that it looked a bit small to me...    Fermis' work on it has set the FSM standard, IMNSHO...

Trey nice job on the assembly and masking. Just by looking at the pic you have the rudder is definately a different tone. Yellow to be sure, unless someone proves me wrong. But I think galland flew a few different F models, and I can't say they all had yellow rudders.

Handi nice job on the emil, man I could never get used to all that 1/32 scale stuff! The PE for the G-2 came so i got started on the cockpit for that, pics soon.

Thanks for the input Nathan,I too think yellow would be correct. If this is the case I'm geussing the chin cowl would be yellow as well?

I aint scared!!! I do remember thinking about making the pad for the seatpan, then figured it wouldn't be there, due to the need for space for the parachute......before I knew it, I had made it anywayTongue Tied

I HATE when that happens... Make a part, then detail it, get brain-cramp, which causes me to forget to put it in..

Especialy if I've made it, then sealed-up the halves, and nothing short of pulling it all apart will allow me access to it's location... I have a plethora of parts that are still in the parts-bin, waitng for that kit to come along down the line again.....

Anyway, guess I'm long overdue for an update....should be finish shots, for as long as these have been on my bench. Not much to show, but here's where I'm at.

I cut apart the Hasegawa gear struts and used brass rod for the oleo

Day-am!  Brass-rod.. Never thought of that.. Thanks for the tip, Fermis!

Thanks! Didn't take any "action" shots, sorry. I can tell you that I cut the end of the foam down to about 1/16" wide by about 1/2 inch long. Put a puddle of paint on my glass, dip the foam, dab most of the paint off, to the side, so there wouldn't be any big blobs of paint on the model. You get about 4-5 dabs on the model before having to dip again. Since the pics above, I've added some more "mottling", and it looks a lot better....you'll see that later!

Until then....here's a FAIL

Not sure exactly what happened, there's no real rhyme nor reason....pretty random and it happened pretty quick. I sprayed laquer (gloss) over enamel, just like I've always done. May have sprayed on too heavy....not thinned down enough.......I dunno????  It has been stripped and I have started repainting. Glad I sprayed this one first, and not Wicks!

Looks like too slow a thinner, then too thick too fast probably. That lacquer has to dry FAST! Glad you could fix it!

Trey, looking' good!

You guys are really doing some excellent work! I haven't updated my build in a while. Almost ready to paint. If anyone else is building the 1/32 Cyberhobby E-4 I would be interested to know how the cowl fit is. I had always planned to build it closed up and had quite a time getting it to fit. Besides dealing with some fit issues I also got sidetracked onto another model. Even though I've been an auto mechanic for 30+ years I have never built a car model, but when I saw the '68 Hemi Dart I couldn't resist. It strikes me that car models are a lot harder to make look realistic than planes.
