Tucohoward

If anyone else is building the 1/32 Cyberhobby E-4 I would be interested to know how the cowl fit is. I had always planned to build it closed up and had quite a time getting it to fit. http://i964.photobucket.com/albums/ae122/tucohoward/000_0099.jpg

Darn, just got the kit---looks cherry.  How did you get the cowl on?

The kit overall is very nice. Could do without the fiddly PE hinges for the control surfaces. I had to shim the rear of the cowl with strip and sand the bottom towards the rear. I cut the the rear latches off the fuselage and glued them to the cowl so they could be sanded evenly. In the picture you can also some shims around the air intake. I have another of these kits and will delnitely build it with the cowling off.

The Mighty Mo says no.

Too bad they didn't make it removable...the kit certainly looks IMPRESSIVE on the sprue...The only thing I bought in the way of AM was the Eduard pre-painted ZOOM to ease in the construction of the control panel and belts...

...hmmmmmmmm...now I have to decide to go cowling on or off...Tongue Tied

Nice job on both - but Wick's machine looks great - stippled with a paint brush?

I used a piece of foam, supplimented with a brush in tough to get areas (like behind tailplane struts)

Hello everyone.  Fine looking builds here so far.  Well, I finished my P-38 and have officially started on the Hasegawa 1/48 BF 109 G-14 for this group build.    I procured a True Details cockpit that's for a G-6 but I decided to use it on the G-14 figuring the differences would be small, if any.  I did read on another thread here that all G cockpits were all similar. Truth be told, i'm not really one to worry about such things, besides its light years ahead of the Hasegawa pit in detail.  I did use the the kit instrument panel since I felt it was better than the TD one.  I have Eagle Cals G-14 sheet and its a toss up between Ewald's "White 7" or the "Yellow 4".  I'll probably decide when its time to paint.  I finished the cockpit last night.  Here's what I got so far:

Sweet job on the pit! I like those true details pits. Simple, cheap, yet lots of detail.
