Tucohoward

Unfortunately I have already had to grind away some of the higher points on the gundeck to get the rear cowling to fit. At least I still have the pictures. I have another one of these kits and I think I will build that one open. If everything fit under I would have left the panels loose. but it doesn't .

I hear you! Notice I only have one side pictured? That's cuz there is NOTHING on the other side except for exhausts and the engine mount. I've done a little prefitting and can already tell on the closed side, some surgery is going to be necessary. To make this work like I want is going to take some creativity. We'll see when I get there.

Tucohoward - you're covering up that engine? Crying Are you sure we can't talk you into opening up one of the cowling panels?!?!

There is NO way he is covering this up, if so no prison term is long enough! Smile

WOW! Indifferent This is starting to look like "the Official Daimler Benz engine group build"!!!! Nice work all around guys, you're making me itch to crack open my contribution. (I've got to be patient though, I've already got boxes cracked on several other projects. I'm likely looking at a spring start here.)

First: Handi, nice work! The office is shaping up! Bang up job on the engine assembly!

Here is my contribution for this week. Not weathered yet, but I don't plan to do much considering the Dio I'm doing for this build. Guns aren't done yet, finish those up tomorrow... Without further adieu!

Randy, I got it straight from MDC ( Model Design Construction) in the UK (ordered it, very affordable to ship to the states). I'm doin Black 12+5f..the pic in my previous post...Gonna go for some aftermarket decals or scrounge for my own...I almost never go with the kit offerings...Although I did contemplate white 44 as i have lots of references for that particular bird...

Its pretty mush mandatory for me for any Hase 109. I like to change it up a bit though, sometimes using Aires or True details or CMK, this time its MDC. Their resin looks good but the kit doesnt include as much PE stuff as Aires, but its only half the price.

I like how you say "a little" ....

Looks like a 109 restoration going from the ground up.

Started playing with my Eduard E-3 in 1/32 scale. Working on the engine first as the cockpit has ton of details provide with the kit. I like the more 3D look of replacing some kit details with scratch building. Parts are only tacked on or inserted in place, will be removed prior to painting. One side complete, one side to go............

Just a raw umber oil wash, some Tamiya smoke airbrushed and some drybrushing.

From what I remember, LargeScalePlanes did a comparison review of five Emils in 1/32 scale and overall Cyber-Hobby came out on top.

Nice read overall. The Eduard was an early release and had a disadvantage with it's tires and missing top of the engine detailing. Both have since been rectified and are what you should expect if you buy a new vs old Profipack. Mine is the new one and it has the corrections (2 part wheels and detailing on engine top plate.). I just completed the 36 Ford 3 window coupe from AMT in 1/43 scale, so now I'm ready to move on with this one. Pulling out all the stops on this one I hope. Done warming up.

Tucohoward - that engine really did turn out nice.  Looks like a brown wash on the frame, any other techniques used here?

Thanks for the comments guys, but I can only take credit for the paint. The rest is essentially OOB. That's how nice this Dragon kit is.

Still nice work !!  What Dragon kit is this?   I've been looking for another to build and this looks super!! ( mabye Herman will speak to me again after my Trump selection )
