Hi, Lee- Thanks, and hope all is well in your neck of the woods!

I don't mind you asking at all, raider- but the answer is: it's about as done as it gets.  The good folks at Curtiss seem to have been spray-gun happy, and the bay was blasted with interior green.  Easier for me, eh?  ;-)

Chuk your writting and art look very familiar, by any chance were you an art teacher in Syracuse, NY?

Well, lex, I was assembled in a top-secret facility in the late fifties as a countermeasure to Soviet mecha-clone experiments.  Several of my production run managed to escape the vast underground complex and infiltrate common society.  It could be that your old teacher is one of my tank- mates.   :-D

Thanks, Guy- Lee handled you question pretty well in his subsequent post (thanks again, Lee!)  I inherited a bunch of wonderful stuff from my wif'e dad, blees him.  His dad was a toll-and-die maker, and I've got his toolbox full of goodies.  I like to think he'd approve of them enjoying a retirement of their own, making models.  8-)

Hey, it's a small world, Jim- I live in North Redondo.  It's really fun to watch the pile of bits and pieces grow smaller, and the plane's silhouette changing as it does!  Cheers, mate!

Guy,
Those twisted files are called rifflers....they come in quite a number of profile sections - round, flat, square, oval, triangular.....I've got a bunch of them, and the sure do come in handy.
Try places like MicroMark, Squadron, Hannants, and any other online model shop.....or try a jeweller's supply place - one that sells tools and materials to people who make jewellery - go see one - they have the BEST tools - I'm not kidding - you'll not believe your eyes.

Cheers, LeeTree

I can wait. I admire and am inspired by this work Chuck but it makes me feel kinda wimpy when I realize just how talented you are. Now if you had characters like Connie in the old preventive maintenance magazines, Id just have to give up, Ever do any nose art for your aircraft? Keep up the awesome show because you have created so much more than just a build thread. This is art!Thumbs Up [tup]

Chuk,

I'm anxious to see how you go about attaching the engine to the fuselage.

I just picked up a Vac-u-form on ebay and also purchased the upgrade kit.  I enjoyed what you did with yours and I'm looking forward to popping out some canopies myself.
