Eagle90, that is one really nice looking F-4. I like that scheme quite a bit and will have to consider that when I do another one. Since this is my fave jet AC I will be doing more. You did really good work, no matter how humble you try to sound. Well done.

BK

Thank you so much.  This is a challenging kit to say the least.  Massive gaps, the decal call outs are way off on the nose area....but over all, now that I am getting close to finishing it, she looks nice...just don't look too close.  LOL!  Like I said, I have two more kits of the same thing (one AF version and one Navy version), but they will not be on my to do list anytime soon.  LOL!  Thank you again for the kind words.

Thank you sir!  Just don't look too close at her.  LOL!  Embarrassed  It has been a challenge, but she looks nice from a distance.  Wink

Thanks again mate!

I think it looks great as-is and without the weathering!

Thank you sir.  She doesn't look bad with just the clear coat on her now.  I might not dirty her up now.  Aircrews usually keep their birds looking good, so maybe a clean bird is in order.

Got the gear on and stabalizers.  Got to give a good coat of clear, weather a bit, and it will be done!  Hopefully today.

Your build looks great, especially the paint job.

Eagle, my apologies for not responding sooner. I haven't been checking the forums as much since I've had a bit of a downturn with my health, and for some reason I'm not getting email notifications when someone posts here. That being said, your Phantom looks great! I really like the scheme. You did a great job, and I can't tell you had the problems the kit gave you.

I am calling this one finished. I got hung up on the paint scheme as the box and the instructions didnt match up at all so I did some research and did the best I could from old photos etc. I ran into a bit of trouble with one of the back windows as I just could not get the lines to match up. I included a pic next to a 1/72 just for fun. Thanks for letting me join in!

No worries!  And thank you very much for the kind words.  It has been a challenge for sure, but she is turning out fairly well.  I'm almost done with the little weathering I wanted to do, so it should be posted as finished soon.  Thanks again!

Hope you feel better my friend!

Well, I'm calling her done!  What a project!  Like I have said, the fit was the worst part of this kit.  I know there are some major errors here, but the fits were off on a lot of the parts and the decals were not accurate either.  Overall, it is very impressive on the shelf!  It takes up some real estate for sure!  LOL!  All said and done, it's not my best work, but I think it looks nice.  Very cool subject and very cool size!  I have my bench back!  LOL!  Enjoy.

Sb, I'll let you pick which photo you'd like to use.  Thanks for doing an awesome GB!  Can't wait to see the rest of these being done.

JNB, well done on the KF, it looks amazing. Without a doubt that is the best scheme on the KF's IMPO. It looks stunning.

Eagle, super finish. I really dig that scheme. I still can't see all the flaws you say are there. Well done!

Thank you sir!  It was the hardest one I have done in a very long time.  Stretched me, but we got it done.  And she looks nice on the shelf!  Thanks again!

Thank you sir!  I did it right out of the box.  Actually did not have many issues with the decals falling apart like I have been having lately.  LOL!  Is the curse broken?!  LOL!  Thank you for hosting an awesome GB and I can't wait to see the others finished!

Nice Phantom, I didnt even realize it was the big Revell kit.  I have some of the Hasegawa VMFP-3 decals in 1/72 but I'm hesitant because of their creamy white and tendency to yellow.

On Ed's bench, ???

This Minicraft EC-121 kit has a few fit issues.  Got back to it tonight and did a lot of sanding on the fuselage which had a pretty big step approaching the cockpit and issues on the belly where the wing joins the fuselage.  Shot primer tonight and still have a couple issues, but getting close to the fun part of laying down the camo!

Thanks,

John

Thank you!  Yeah, she's a big one for sure.  Takes up a lot of space on the shelves!  The decals (especially the top red ones) were a challenge to say the least.  But, I have had a rash of bad luck with decals for the paast year, and these turned out pretty good.  I know what you mean by the white decals.  Been there done that.  LOL!

I can attest to the fit issues on that kit.  I pulled it out of the stash thinking because of it's size it would be a quick easy build, ha, joke was on me.  Lol.

Ok folks, here we go. I am finally ready to break ground on this one. I have been looking forward to building this for awhile now. I haven't yet decided to build it with wings folded or not. We'll see as we go along I guess.

I've been wanting one of those kits, but they always seem to go for a pretty hefty price(in my opinion).  I haven't built anything from Kinetic either, so I don't know what quality their kits are.  Interested to see if it's worth it.

I'll be watching with great interest.  I have a Hawkeye 2000 kit on the shelf and may join this group build after weekend madness.   Looks like a decent kit.  Good Luck!

Sorry I've been so absent lately.  I'm starting the process for a kidney transplant and my mother in law passed away on Wednesday.  Lots of things keeping me away from the bench and the forums.

Brandon, I'm really excited to see how that comes together.  That kit is on my wishlist so I'd love to see how you bring it together.

Caveman, we'd be more than happy for you to join us if you decide to.  Just let me know
