Well I've made a start on the Meteor. being Classic Airframes it iis a limited run injectin kit with resin parts.

I have sawn out all the cockpit parts and cleamed them up , and undercoated them in matt black for now, and that's as far as I've got ......

Does anyone here have two 1/48 AIM-7 Sparrows they can spare? I wouuld like to use them on my C bug since the kit I got did not come with them. Any help here would be greatly appreciated!

Awesome paint job on that office. WELL DONE! You've got to share how you got that detail to really stand out. That is some outstanding detail painting.

I got my Cam decals today for my F/A-18C ODS VFA-81 Sunliners AA401 MIG Killer. This plane was piloted by Cmdr. Fox at outset of Operation Desert Storm and he bagged a MIG-21 on the first day of the war. Only two US Navy aviators using the Hornet got Mig kills when ODS began in 1991.

Some initial progress on the Sea Fury.  First Trumpeter kit, and although the panel lines are nicely recessed, the mating pins and holes for the fuselage are garbage.  I took my trusty Squadron Medium sanding stick and sanded them flush.  I might need to add a shim once I get the whole thing together, but it's better than having to drill out all the mating holes, as they were full of flash.

Here are the cockpit and sidewall photos.  This thing is pretty small, cockpit is less than 1" long.  OK detail, picked out some switches and dials with a 10/0 brush and white/red/silver paint.

As always, comments and thoughts are appreciated.

This week-end I'll be going 'down the hill' for some volunteer duty at the museum and that brings me within close proximity to my fav hobby store. I'll have them order my Israeli Air Force decals and I'll pick up any paint I need too... for my MIRAGE IIIC! (Dasault's wonderful tailless delta... in 1/48)

As for myself, my Revell 1/48 F-18 Hornet kit arrived today. I opted to get the Blue Angels kit because it has the extra parts to build the "C" Bug and it was cheaper than getting the Revell 1/48 "C" kit. I am planing to totally rescribe this model and I am thinking some aftermarket cockpit goodies to put in it, a photo etch kit perhaps. Now I am waiting on the Cam decals from Squadron to arrive and hope to get started as soon as the Super Bug is done. 

I'm a happy camper!

Love the seat... for the headrest and arm rests, is that fine grit sandpaper?  It looks like the armrests are thicker than the headrest, so maybe some type of foam insert (like what airbrushes come packed in).  Looks phenomenal.

I have been doing some work on my F-86, starting on the office the seat was really nasty so i had to scratch build a new one using the old one as a base i used some evergreen and putty and wire.

That Eagle office looks pretty darn good. Now what I would do now is give it a bit of a wash with dark gray or black so the wash sits in the recesses of the details. This will give it a very realistic look when done. Dont make your wash to heavy, just enough that it sits in the recesses and corners.

I buttoned up the forward fuselage last night.....

I drybrushed the side consoles and added future to the dials, now they have that sheen of glass over them. The avionics bay is painted with automotive primer (cheap....2 bucks a can compared to Tamiya primer for 10 bucks....and covers great) and then brushed in details and finally washed with a brush dipped in my nasty brush cleaning water....ended up looking great.

This final pic is a little dark, but it's main purpose is to accent the screens.....the other pics just don't show how cool the confetti makes the screens look

My C-Bug is on it's way however, the decals will be delayed. I had to call Squadron.com and correct a mistake I made at their web site when I ordered them. Anyway that is now taken care of and I am good to go.

Great start on your Eagle! One suggestion.. try drybrushing a little bit more white or silver on the dials to make them stand out more. When I paint cockpit detail I always use an Opti-Visor. It really helps me see that detail up close and paint small detail very well.

Start of my Eagle.....

I still need to do a few things to the instrument panel before it actually gets attached. I want to pu drops of future on the dials to make them have the appearance of glass and some light drybrushing across the side consoles to make the rest of the buttons pop. The LCD screens were created using some Amscan confetti. Paint the screens flat black, then go back over them with clear green, and then cut the confetti to shape and attach with future....looks great

 I just ordered my Revell F-18 Bug Blue Angels kit which comes with extra parts to build the F/A-18C Bug from Evilbay and VFA-81 Mig Killer decals from Squadron. I wont be starting this kit until I finish my Super Bug but at least I now have this kit on its way.

Nice model score today and I am a happy camper!
