Looks good to me except for the second photo where it shows the gap and the decal not being lined up all the way, but you said you were gonna touch it up so I'm sure you already noticed.

What's this? An update from Paul? Holy crap!!!!

So, here is the F-16C.....

Here's the cockpit....this photo was taken about 2 and a half years ago!

This is my first attempt at rescribing.

Any rivet counters out there?

This is what the kit looked like for the last 2 years.

This is what the kit looks like as of today! Actually....that isn't quite true. I have a coat of future curing right now....I hope to have decals on it this evening!

Paul,

She's looking good so far.  Can't wait to see the decals.

As for the rivet counters, I would ask them to go play somewhere else.  Build what looks good  for you don't build to make them happy.

almost done.....

Just gotta give her some teeth and load her up, finish some final touches on the weathering. I need to check references for this bird to see if this one had a tinted canopy...if so, I have the Tamiya clear yellow and future standing by!

She's looking pretty good there btp. But, by time CA ARNG got the F-16, I believe they had already switched to the gray radome. The black radome was only on the early F-16As.

That's not black. Its a custom mixed shade of gunship grey and flat black, closer to a charcoal. The reference photos on the Two Bobs sheet and the stuff I have seen on the web show a similiar radome. Apperently, there isn't a specific color for the F-16 radome, it starts out a dark grey and fades as time goes on.

Allrighty thenSmile,Wink, & Grin [swg] I know about the variation in the shades of gray on the radomes. It just looked black in the pic you posted. I know how it can go with photography.

WOW, it only took 13 years to finish Mauve's 1/48 P-40N.  I used True Details resin pit, MM enamels and ProModeler wash.  There are alot of things I would do different if I did this one again.  Anyway here it is:

Woohoo Roy!!!! Bow [bow]Bow [bow]Bow [bow]  It may take you a long time but it is worth the wait.  I know I've seen it before in various stages but I love that nose art and I know it must not have been easy to get the decal on that.  Congradulations.

13 YEARS??? Wow, I think you win the 'most procrastination' award (which goes along very well with this GB's theme)! Make a Toast [#toast]

F-16....DONE!

The AIM-9's came from a Revell 1:32nd F-14A....the ones in the kit were absolute rubbish. Markings are from Two Bobs Golden State Griffins sheet. Everything else came right outta the box

Paul, Nice looking bird. I like it!

Now for an update on my 105. A little history. As you know I`ve posted a few pics of the bombs I`ve been woking on for this. I started this almost 2 yrs. ago(first build back at modeling, quite the undertakeing to say the least!) This by far is my biggest leap ahead. Got some time on it this weekend and suffered through some 100+ deg in the garage. Finaly sprayed the future on. Like I said, this is a biggy for me. But here it is. Let me know what you think..........Harv

Harv, your Thud is looking beautiful! The paint job and gloss coat look great! I know what you mean about the heat. The past few weeks it was jsut too hot for me to get in to my painting area in my garage to do work.

As for me, I have turned my attention to my LAV C2 on my days off this week. I removed the incorrect rear hatches on it, scratch built new ones and some new details for the rear, as well as relocating some kit parts to their correct location. When I started the kit, I had not seen the LAV C2 walkaround on Prime Portal and corrected the kit on the rear end with the assistance of those pics.

I did some more work after I took these pics, and will photograph and post those later.

Thanks Roy. I finished up all my add ons for it yesterday. I scratch built three jerry can racks last week (the kit only came with one and I wanted them to all match). I picked up a Trumpeter M240 MG for the TC hatch and modified it to spade grip configuration like I saw in a photo of a '91 Gulf War LAV. And then I picked up tools for the tool rack on the back door from an Academy accessory set. I placed them based off what I could read of stencils in the photos and partly off SWAG.

Next up, painting....

Lot of good work on that there LAV. Thumbs Up [tup]

I finally got onto one of my NME builds! AMPS East '09 is over, so I've sworn to clear my bench and display shelves of all unfinished projects before cracking in on something new (it's gonna be tough!) so the P-47 got dragged out. The KT and La-7 are next, along with some other "excuses" I've accumulated over the summer. Whistling [:-^]

No no, then no re-re-re-extension needed. I plan on knocking these out at a very fast pace to get them 100% shelfworthy as well as letting me start in on some new projects. Dinner [dinner]

So, here is the latest on my LAV. Got her covered in a base coat of Polly Scale Desert Storm Sand. This color has unique properties. Depends on the lighting, but it changes hue depending on the light. Hard to tell the difference from the base plasic except for the sheen- very flat now. And all my add ons/mods are now painted.

stik - your LAV is looking very nice!  Can't wait to see her all finished up!  I've tried Polly Scale paint and love it for basecoats, but I have a real problem using it for detail painting like camo patterns.  The tip dry is terrible!  Do you have any tips?

dirtball - wow! that's a big F-105!!  The paint job is beautiful!  Its going to look awesome when done!

dupes - you've got unfinished builds??  What about your entries for the 1000 Roadwheels GB??Tongue [:P]  (like I should ask!!!Whistling [:-^])

Ohhhh, I've got unfinished builds all right. More than I'd like to admit to, really.

1/48 Acad P-47 (P-47's GB)
1/35 Tam King Tiger (Panzer Aces GB)
1/48 Eduard La-7 (Weekend Madness GB)
1/48 Mono Me-109 (109's GB)
1/144 DML JagdpzIV (1,000 Roadwheels GB)
1/35 Acad M4A2 Sherman (Lend-Lease GB)
1/35 Cyber Hobby 251/2 (251's GB)

This isn't even counting the ones I've committed to that haven't even been started yet (read:1/35 Tristar Pz.IV Ausf B). Yikes. Of course, I have a bunch more things on the "let's get these started" pile.
