I'd like to join this GB with a cross-over if entries are still welcome.  I'm currently building a 1/72 Italeri B-58A Hustler for the NMF GB that started after this GB started.

Current progress includes a completed fuselage structures, wings put together, painting of all interior surfaces and the black anti-glare along the nose, and I have begun applying kitchen foil to the fuselage.

WHERE IS SPIKE????

I have opened the F-82, it's at the front of the list at long last. I need to find a blue paint match for the SAC sash color:DARWIN are you out there? I'll need to finish this in a couple of days as I am starting a handful of Matchbox kits.

Well, its starting to look like a stratofortress.  The 3 colour cam is done.  Just a little bit of paint bleed under the masking tape, little bit of touch up work.  This one might turn out to be a three-footer, but most of mine are anyway.......

Hi Paul, I'd love to see some pics. I need to finish the PBY GB before I can start this one, stick to a list in order you know. That's coming up soon tho and the F-82 is saying "build me, build me".

Assembly is pretty much finished.  These cold war bombers are basically a big cigar tube anyway....

Starting on the painting.  Wings just had an overall shot of Tamiya AS-15 Tan.  A lot a masking ahead....

Hows everyone else going ??

Hey Vipe. This one goes until the end of the year, and it's always a good one. I'd say hang with us. I'm about 4 down too, but it'll happen.

Hey guys.  I hate to have to say this, but it looks like I'm going to have to bow out of this one.  I've been over-run by new kit reviews for IPMS. I'm currently backed up with 4 kits, one of which features an EXTENSIVE add-on detail set. I still want to try to do the F-111, but chances are its just not gonna happen. Sorry.

What did you use for tape to outline the walkways and what is its width? I think that is a great idea but I can't find thin-enough tape for the lines. What do you suggest?

Get your cutting mat really clean....no dust, bits of plastic or other cr**.  Then stick down a long piece of masking tape.  smooth it down so its snug on the mat.  Get your trusty steel ruler and a hobby blade, and cut strips to whatever thickness you need.  Peel 'em off the cutting mat, and you're in business.  In that first photo you can see the strip of tape and where I've been slicing  2mm strips off it.  These are the vertical lines on the tail section.  Turned out OK.

Nope, the twin comes first. She's black with a SAC sash on both tails, blue tail fins with stars.

But the Aardvark is a more longterm thing. There's a decal set out there, and I met some nice folks at the Museum. The one guy asked,"they brought her back here in the test flight livery and overpainted her green. Why'd they do that?". So I got it in mind to give them a model.

That would certainly be an unusual looking bird.  I wonder if anyone will make decals for it?

sprayed the walkway lines with Tamiya Matt Black.  Then masked.  Going to tackle that BIG fuselage seam before doing the other walkways.

BUFF is coming along.  Fuse is together, as are the wings.  Glued the flaps shut, rather than open.  I havent seen too many pics of b52's with the flaps down anyway....

Have left the little mountings in place on the wing roots and fuse, to hang it from the ceiling at this stage.  I suppose there are worse ways of displaying it.  Still havent made up my mind about sanding back and rescribing those raised panel lines though....

Ya know, even after all of these years, I could probably pass inspection...if I shave off my beard...but it is only a winter feature anyway. I think you'd have a hard time enforcing it if it was. Wink [;)]

Kinda pissed that the decals for my BUFF are cracked and crazed already.  It says copyright Revell-Monogram 2000 on the decal sheet.  I'm surprised 9 year old decals are so far gone, but, as an evilbay purchase, who knows where the previous owner in the states had it stored.  Bought some Microscal liquid film and hope that will bring them back.  Not having much luck sourcing AM decals.  A long way off until I need them anyway.  Just starting on the pit.

Does AFR 35-10 apply while working on models for this GB?

Where is everybody . . . ?  Working on our aircraft, of course, and preparing for that big ORI at then end.  So whip out your SACM 50-5 and start preping.  This won't be a Buy None.

Well, the BUFF has made the trip from storage room to workbench.  I cant believe the size of the box.  Revellogram must have been trying to impress, the kit itself is swimming around inside this huge box, which is even larger than the B36 Box, even though the B52 is smaller.

I will be diving in tonight.

A lot of people had less complimentary names for General LeMay than that.  Personally, I admired him very much.  He was hard as nails, but fair.  As long as you did your job, you were fine, but God help you if you screwed up.

YB I have the top one in the stash. It has about 10 parts, but maybe that's ok and I have never really looked it over to check for accuracy, although I wouldn't know a rivet from a nail, compared to you.

I'd say this though- this particular a/c might be a good subject for that kind of thing; more to do with an immaculate airframe and an exercise in paint and markings.

I built the Revell one about 40 years ago and it didn't go together very well, but after all I was a teenager....Dunce [D)]

This is the first Hasegawa kit, issued in the early 1980s

This is the second Hasegawa kit.  It has the same plastic as #1, but also has the D-21 drone

This is #3 kit from Hasegawa.  Same plastic as #1

This is # 4 kit.  It has a gorgeous decal sheet that has the NASA birds, 17951 disguised as a YF-12C and the 1990s NASA birds plus the 1995-1997 USAF reactivation birds.  Same plastic as #1
